OU Dracovish [QC 2/2] [GP 1/1]

[SET]
name: Choice Scarf
move 1: Fishious Rend
move 2: Crunch
move 3: Psychic Fangs
move 4: Outrage
item: Choice Scarf
ability: Strong Jaw
nature: Adamant
evs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
Choice Scarf Dracovish aims to outpace as many Pokemon as possible, notably being faster than Terrakion, Hydreigon, and Dugtrio, in order to double Fishious Rend's power against most targets, making it a decent revenge killer. Crunch severely damages Dragapult and 2HKOes Jellicent, while Psychic Fangs hits Toxapex and Keldeo the hardest. Outrage is needed for Dragon-types like Hydreigon, Kommo-o, and opposing Dracovish and also deals the most damage to Gastrodon and Seismitoad.

Choice Scarf Dracovish is typically used on rain teams alongside Pelipper; rain boosts Fishious Rend's power and enables Dracovish to 2HKO Toxapex. Other rain attackers like Mantine and Keldeo help Dracovish overwhelm the opposition, notably Kommo-o and Gastrodon. Ferrothorn can set up entry hazards, making Dracovish even more difficult to switch into. U-turn support from the aforementioned Pelipper as well as Mandibuzz enables Dracovish to get into a favorable position to start wreaking havoc.

[SET]
name: Choice Band
move 1: Fishious Rend
move 2: Crunch
move 3: Psychic Fangs
move 4: Outrage
item: Choice Band
ability: Strong Jaw
nature: Adamant
evs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
Choice Band Dracovish's Fishious Rend is one of the hardest-hitting moves in the game, since it doubles in power when hits first or on a switch, making Dracovish very difficult to reliably switch into even with Water-resistant Pokemon like Toxapex and Ferrothorn. Crunch 2HKOes Jellicent and destroys Dragapult, Psychic Fangs is the strongest Dracovish's move against Toxapex, and Outrage 2HKOes the two most popular Water-immune Pokemon&mdashSeismitoad and Gastrodon. However, all of Dracovish's moves are extremely easy to exploit with common presences like Clefable, Corviknight, Gastrodon, and Terrakion; in addition, Dracovish is rather weak outside of Fishious Rend. Choice Band, Strong Jaw, and an Adamant nature all maximize Dracovish's wallbreaking potential, letting it 2HKO Toxapex and physically defensive Ferrothorn after one layer of Spikes.

Pokemon such as Clefable, Ferrothorn, and Kyurem that can take advantage Water-immune Pokemon are very appreciated by Dracovish. Pivot support from the likes of Corviknight, Teleport Clefable, and Dragapult enables Dracovish to maintain momentum and exert as much offensive pressure as possible. Fast teammates such as Dragapult and Zeraora can make up for Dracovish's lack of Speed, while Sticky Web support from Ribombee on hyper offensive teams, alternatively, slows down the foes for Dracovish.

lets get this party started
You mention Rotom-C a couple times.
I haven't heard of rotom-C before. I assume this means Rotom-Wash, although I would imagine Rotom-Mow could probably also serve in the contexts.

[OVERVIEW]

* Dracovish is one of the hardest-hitting wallbreakers in the tier thanks to Fishious Rend, which doubles in power when strikes first or on a switch, absolutely destroying many prominent defensive presences like Corviknight, Clefable, and Mandibuzz and overwhelming even resistant to it walls like Toxapex and Ferrothorn.

* Dracovish's access to useful coverage options further increases its wallbreaking potency, complementing Fishious Rend well.

* Dracovish's Speed tier is high enough to outpace all crucial defensive Pokemon. However, it doesn't let Dracovish naturally outpace common offensive threats like Dragapult and Hydreigon, making Dravovish struggle against offensive teams.
Before this, looks good.
* Dracovish's rather decent natural bulk prevents it from being revenge killed too easily, though.
I think this is a bit of an overstatement. You should say something along the lines of "Dracovish's decent natural bulk lets it take some hits from revenge kill attempts or on the switch in".
* The omnipresence of Pokemon immune to Water like Seismitoad and Gastrodon hinders Dracovish's wallbreaking capabilities by preventing it from freely using Fishious Rend and makes it way easier to take advantage of.
Mention it's lack of coverage for these (outside of Outrage and relatively weak moves), particularly it's lack of grass type coverage.
[SET]
name: Choice Band
move 1: Fishious Rend
move 2: Crunch
move 3: Psychic Fangs
move 4: Outrage
item: Choice Band
ability: Strong Jaw
nature: Adamant
evs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Set looks good, although Jolly might be worth slashing.
[SET COMMENTS]
Set Description
========

* Crunch provides Dracovish with a way to 2HKO Jellicent, which stops Dracovish otherwise. It also reliably OHKOes Dragapult without locking Dracovish on the field with Outrage.

* Psychic Fangs hits Toxapex harder than Fishious Rend and has an added benefit of breaking Reflect and Light Screen.
First part is not true in rain, mention that.
* Outrage is Dracovish's most powerful option to take down Seismitoad and Gastrodon, 2HKOing both and enabling it to spam Fishious Rend freely later.

* Choice Band, Strong Jaw, and an Adamant nature all are chosen in order to increase Dracovish's firepower to absurd levels.
Rest of the set description is good. Might want to consider adding that jolly may be useful to outspeed adamant dracovish/dracozolt, as well as Seismitoad, Drednaw, and Bisharp, as well as speed tying with jolly dracovish/dracozolt.
Usage Tips
========

* Choice Band Dracovish is very straightforward to use: most of the time, Fishious Rend is your go-to move, since it deals insane amounts of damage to anything not immune to it.

* If Pokemon immune to Water are present, don't click Fishious Rend immediately; instead, hit them with an appropriate coverage move or make a double switch into a teammate which takes advantage of them.

* The best way to bring Dracovish into the battle is via VoltTurn support and aggressive double switches so you can keep up your momentum and pressure the opposing team.

* Early-game, even if the opposing team doesn't have Water immunities, going for a coverage move may be beneficial to put defensive behemots like Toxapex into a range of Fishious Rend.

* Be careful of what move you are locking Dracovish into, as any of its moves has a risk of inviting certain Pokemon for free, resulting in your complete loss of momentum.

Team Options
========

* Pokemon that take advantage of Water immunities are excellent teammates for Dracovish. Examples include Hydreigon, Clefable, and Rotom-C.

* VoltTurn support from the likes of Corviknight, Mandibuzz, and Rotom-H help Dracovish come into battle and proceed to destroy the opposition.

* Entry hazards from Pokemon such as Ferrothorn and Seismitoad make Dracovish even tougher to switch into.

* Thunder Wave support from Ferrothorn and Clefable helps Dracovish overcome its mediocre Speed tier and pose a bigger threat for offensive teams.

* Ferrothorn is one of the very few Pokemon potentially capable of surviving two Fishious Rends, so allies that can pressure it like Hydreigon and Cinderace pair with Dracovish well.
Only thing I can recommend here is that you mention how powerful rain is with this. Perhaps it's worth noting that banded dracovish under rain can OHKO SpDef toxapex. This gives a good context for how powerful banded dracovish really is, especially under rain. Another idea I've seen on occasion is tailwind pelipper, and then a u-turn into dracovish. I don't know if this is good, or whether it should be noted, but it's something to think about.

[SET COMMENTS]
Set Description
========

* Choice Scarf Dracovish trades Choice Band's brute force on a higher Speed tier, allowing it to perform better against faster offensive teams.

* Crunch 2HKOes Jellicent, pteventing it from absolutely walling Dracovish, and OHKOes non-invested Dragapult after Stealth Rock.
I presume you mean non-invested into HP or Defense, but it'd probably be best to be clear.
* Psychic Fangs 2HKOes weakened Toxapex and breaks Reflect and Light Screen.
How much weakened are we talking here? Technically crunch also 2HKOes weakened toxapex.
* Outrage enables Dracovish to revenge kill Hydreigon, opposing Dracovish, and unboosted Kommo-o.
Mention that this only works if dracovish or hydreigon aint scarfed. Also, again, mention dracozolt as another revenge killing target.
* Strong Jaw is the ability of choice as boosts the damage output of all Dracovish's moves save for Outrage.

* An Adamant nature is preferred to Jolly to keep as much firepower as possible while still outpacing Dugtrio and everything slower.
Big disagree from me. Jolly lets Dracovish outspeed neutral speed nature Kommo-o at +1, as well as barraskewda with a jolly nature, ribombee, and neutral speed natured dragapult. These are not minor targets.
Usage Tips
========

* Choice Scarf Dracovish should mainly be used as a revenge killer by virtue of its increased Speed tier and heavily reduced, compared to Choice Band Dracovish, firepower.

* Choice Scarf Dracovish can act as a late-game cleaner sometimes, when its offensive answers such as Dragapult and Choice Scarf Hydreigon are removed and its defensive stops like Seismitoad, Gastrodon, and Ferrothorn are severely weakaned or completely destroyed.

* Don't reveal Choice Scarf on Dracovish too early so you can benefit from the surprise factor, pulling off an unexpected revenge kill or cleaning up.

* Choice Scarf Dracovish naturally forces a lot of switches and lacks the power to deal with its defensive checks reliably, so aggressively double switching out into a teammate which benefits from the expected Dracovish's switch-in will help you get the advantageous position while not revealing Choice Scarf.

* Choose a move you are locking Dracovish into wisely, since all of its moves can let certain Pokemon in freely. This is especially important for Outrage if opposing Fairy-types are present, as you can't switch out once you clicked Outrage.
Looks ok.
Team Options
========

* Choice Scarf Dracovish fits well on slower teams which are in need of a strong revenge killer capable of dealing with offensive threats like Hydreigon and Rotom-H.

* Wallbreakers like Hydreigon, Clefable, and Rotom-C can break down walls for Dracovish and enable it to clean up. These three also can take advantage of Dracovish's defensive answers like Seismitoad, Ferrothorn, and Gastrodon.
Rotom-C, please fix.
* Entry hazard support from the likes of Ferrothorn and Seismitoad helps Dracovish break past defensive threats easier.

* VoltTurn pivots like Corviknight, Rotom-H, and Mandibuzz enable Dracovish to get into a favorable position and threaten the opposing team.

* Rain support from Pelipper strengthens Dracovish's Fishious Rend and enables it to nearly 2HKO Toxapex and Ferrothorn.
Looks good.
[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

* Low Kick strikes Ferrothorn harder than Fishious Rend. However, it doesn't hit anything else.

* Ice Fang reliably 2HKOes Rotom-C and Hydreigon but is significantly weaker than Dracovish's other moves and doesn't offer anything outside of it.
Looks solid. Maybe some sort of nonchoiced set might be worthwile? As far as I can tell nobody's been using anything like that (probably rightfully). Perhaps something like life orb or splash plate?
Checks and Counters
===================

**Pokemon immune to Water**: Pokemon like Seismitoad, Gastrodon, and Jellicent prevent Dracovish from using its strongest move. However, all of them must be wary of Dracovish's another moves like Outrage and, in case of Jellicent, Crunch.

**Grass-types**: Ferrothorn and Rotom-C are capable of surviving at least one Choice Band-boosted Fishious Rend and retaliate either with an attacking move or a crippling option like Thunder Wave. In addition, Ferrothorn can eat even two Fishious Rends depending on its spread and has Iron Barbs to chip Dracovish down, while Rotom-C outpaces Dracovish and thus can cripple it before getting KOed, if Dracovish is not running Choice Scarf.
Rotom-C, please fix.
**Dragon-types**: Hydreigon, Dragapult, and Kommo-o all are naturally faster than Dracovish and can OHKO it with their Dragon-type STAB moves. They hate eating Dracovish's Fishious Rend on the switch and coverage options, however.
Also mention scarfed dracovish running over 'em.
**Revenge Killers**: Dracovish's pretty average Speed tier allows offensive threats like Dragapult, Dugtrio, and Gengar to revenge kill it. In addition, Fishious Rend doesn't get a boost against them unless it hits on the switch. None of these Pokemon, except Dragapult, are safe against Choice Scarf Dracovish, though.

Say something about will-o-wisp and scald burns etc.

Good job, but there's a fair number of issues around. Hopefully, this will also reinvigorate interest in the thread, so that official QC reviewers etc can take their own swings at it and notice problems that I haven't.

Please go through this thread before writing this up.

[OVERVIEW]

  • Dracovish is one of the hardest-hitting wallbreakers in the tier thanks to Fishious Rend, which doubles in power when strikes first or on a switch, absolutely destroying many prominent defensive presences like Corviknight, Clefable, and Mandibuzz and overwhelming even resistant to it walls like Toxapex and Ferrothorn.

  • The omnipresence of Pokemon immune to Water like Seismitoad and Gastrodon hinders Dracovish's wallbreaking capabilities by preventing it from freely using Fishious Rend and makes it way easier to take advantage of.

  • Psychic Fangs hits Toxapex harder than Fishious Rend and has an added benefit of breaking Reflect and Light Screen. screens are honestly an irrelevant side effect, remove the mention and directly state that fangs are the strongest thing to hit pex
  • Outrage is Dracovish's most powerful option to take down Seismitoad and Gastrodon, 2HKOing both and enabling it to spam Fishious Rend freely later.
  • Choice Band, Strong Jaw, and an Adamant nature all are chosen in order to increase Dracovish's firepower to absurd levels. again, just mention it lets it hard as possible

  • The best way to bring Dracovish into the battle is via VoltTurn support and aggressive double switches so you can keep up your momentum and pressure the opposing team two things: avoid using terms like volturn and best + if you're going to mention how to bring it in, mention what sort of mons you'd ideally want to bring it in. like are we just going to chuck vish out in front of an offensive mon or are we bringing it in on slower or more passive mons?
  • Early-game, even if the opposing team doesn't have Water immunities, going for a coverage move may be beneficial to put defensive behemots like Toxapex into a range of Fishious Rend. I don't particularly like pex as an example here since it gets so many chances to recover up and also has regen to help it keep it out of range; and even then clicking fish is mindless enough as a midground since if they're running something like ferro pex youu know what button to click the next time you've found yourself in a similar situation
  • Be careful of what move you are locking Dracovish into, as any of its moves has a risk of inviting certain Pokemon for free, resulting in your complete loss of momentum.

Honest to god this tells me fuck all so please expand on these points; give me examples for everything because water immunes could be sheddy for all i know.

  • Add mentions of scarf here and specify why it's bad
  • Low Kick strikes Ferrothorn harder than Fishious Rend. However, it doesn't hit anything else. Remove this; it doesn't do anything notable since you're still fucking with ferro to begin with
  • Ice Fang reliably 2HKOes Rotom-C and Hydreigon but is significantly weaker than Dracovish's other moves and doesn't offer anything outside of it.
  • hmu on discord once you've implemented the oo stuff since there's a few more things i want you to add but qc hasn't reached a unanimous decision yet.

Probably worth mentioning Teleport Clef here too since it lures in stuff that Dracovish absolutely dunks on, particularly corvi / aegi.

Thunder Wave support from Pokemon like Clefable, Rotom-H, and Ferrothorn helps Dracovish alleviate its poor Speed, as does Sticky Web support from Ribombee on hyper offensive teams.
