my first choice in a pub is lager. find cider too sweet and ale too heavy. when it comes to spirits i am a gin man although i enjoy a well-made old fashioned. i like rum too, but vodka is a little too clinical-tasting for me. in terms of wine, my palate is hardly sophisticated - the most i can stomach is sweet white, although i can differentiate between boxed up shit the good stuff.
cocktails go down well too although i find myself enjoying only the first few sips before i want to give it to someone else and have a beer. my favourite right now is an amaretto sours, they are really delicious. i am working on a few of my own that i want to introduce to the bar. im thinking gin, lemon juice and cold english breakfast tea. its gonna be a winner.
oh also i fuckin love a good bloody mary as a hangover cure (plenty of l&p, splash of tobasco, horseradish, no chilli, only a small dash of lemon juice, two cracks of salt stirred in well, top of pepper for the nose. OOMF)
