Introduction
My second RMT and another Hyper Offensive build, my last RMT got me to 1600 but felt too predictable and using very common Pokémon meant a lot of people were well prepped going to mid-ladder. So this time I wanted to use a couple of lesser used Pokémon and sets. I'm struggling to get miuch further up the ladder, so I may have to look at Bulky Offense next, for now, here is a Screens Koko Offense!.
DO NOT BE SHY WITH SUGGESTIONS! If you want to suggest replacing 4 Pokémon I will not be insulted!
I am trying to improve my building skills so I would like to hear the reasoning.

I needed Rocks like every team does, this breaks opposing Sashes and provides chips to ease KO’s. Landorus is also great at providing momentum to get teammates in safely.

I’d been looking to use Screens Koko for some time and its not hard to see why Gyarados appreciates the support so much. Gyarados suffers from being just too weak to break the bulkiest walls at +1 and just to slow and frail to take on a lot of common scarfers 1v1. However, behind screens this thing can often get to +2, which is when the havoc really begins.

Tapu Lele has great Special Defense, particularly under screens, which also patches up its middling defense. Terrain prevents priority and boosts Medicham’s Zen Headbutt.

I wanted a good wallbreaker that doesn’t rely on boosts to stop Unaware mons walling my whole team, its also a great balance breaker and packs some awesome STAB.

During my previous efforts building (with teams now scrapped), I had tacked Gyarados on the end to experiment, this thing is heavily underrated and I have 6-0’d many teams with this alone, so I wanted to build around it.

I needed to bolster my attacking options, with Gyarados needing Screens I knew I would have to preserve Koko, meaning Terrain would be up a lot, Hawlucha is just incredibly threatening and between Roost at Screens it is very easy to set-up.

Landorus-Therian @ Focus Sash
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Explosion
- Swords Dance
I went with Suicide Landorus because it is just so effective at getting Rocks up and generating momentum, Explosion KO’s or puts huge chunks in any switch-ins, particularly at +2. Earthquake is really spammable against anything not immune, this usually just sets up Rocks, Swords Dance and dies.

Tapu Koko @ Light Clay
Ability: Electric Surge
EVs: 248 HP / 44 SpD / 216 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Reflect
- Light Screen
- Volt Switch
- Taunt
Koko is a reliable Screens setter despite being pretty frail, Volt Switch allows to get some momentum (EV’s underspeed opposing Koko looking to Volt Switch but outspeeds Weavile). Taunt stops Defog on the Screens and other tech that can be annoying.

Tapu Lele @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Psychic Surge
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Psychic
- Moonblast
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Focus Blast
Great speed control thanks to removing priority, which is a major threat to the above sweepers, good all around coverage and I needed to add a special attacker as everything on my team was physical, which is great, as soon as Chansey and AV users are removed Tapu Lele can decimate teams.

Medicham @ Medichamite
Ability: Telepathy
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Fake Out
- High Jump Kick
- Ice Punch
- Zen Headbutt
I was struggling a lot with balance (I had Alakazam here before), particularly things like Celesteela I would struggle with, I can overwhelm thanks to Medicham’s incredible damage output. Fake Out is great to chip at offensive threats and get damage while preventing Burns, Toxic, Rocks etc. Ice Punch for Landorus.

Gyarados @ Flyinium Z
Ability: Moxie
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Waterfall
- Bounce
- Earthquake
- Dragon Dance
Sleeper threat of the team after 2 boosts this thing is pretty much unstoppable, even at no Dragon Dances and 1 Moxie boost this thing is a menace to defensive teams and Flyinium Z is just amazing for neutral and super-effective coverage.

Hawlucha @ Electric Seed
Ability: Unburden
EVs: 152 HP / 252 Atk / 8 SpD / 96 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Acrobatics
- Swords Dance
- High Jump Kick
- Roost
I went with Electric Seed as Lele tends to come in most often last or very late game, whereas Koko often comes in multiple times to set-up. Again following the theme use screens to mindlessly hit high damage moves. I needed more speed control between the slow Medicham and Gyarados.
Conclusion
Honestly there isn’t much to say about this team, as long as you identify your win condition early, just set rocks and screens and send everything else out until the opponent is weak enough for the clean. Threats include Koko, OHKO’ing Gyarados through Screens and Zapdos which my only way to break is Ice Punch on Medicham (fuck Static), Zapdos walls both Gyarados and Hawlucha, just super annoying. Currently I’m struggling to climb further up the ladder, due to this teams difficulty to break more bulky teams without a boost and Bulky Offense teams can often tank attacks and deal heavy damage back even through screens, I’m also lacking hazard removal.
