Monotype Duraludon (Steel) [QC 2/2] [GP 1/1]

[Choice Scarf]
name: Choice Scarf
move 1: Draco Meteor
move 2: Flash Cannon
move 3: Thunderbolt
move 4: Stealth Rock / Thunder Wave
item: Choice Scarf
ability: Light Metal
nature: Timid
evs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

This set allows Duraludon to effectively check Dragon-type Pokemon. Draco Meteor is Duraludon’s strongest STAB attack and is especially important for beating Dragon-types such as Dragapult and Hydreigon. Thunderbolt allows Duraludon to hit Flying-type Pokemon such as Pelipper, Mantine, and Corviknight for super effective damage. Running Stealth Rock provides role compression and allows Ferrothorn to use Spikes. Thunder Wave can be used over Stealth Rock to paralyze Pokemon who rely on their Speed to be effective, such as Corviknight and Jirachi. Light Metal allows Duraludon to take less damage from Low Kick. Duraludon’s unique coverage means that it should be preserved in the Dragon matchup and only brought in safely as a revenge killer.

Corviknight is immune to the Ground-type attacks directed at Duraludon and can switch in on the special attackers that force Duraludon out such as Dragapult. In return, Duraludon can paralyze Pokemon that outspeed Corviknight, allowing Corviknight to use taunt and setup on them. Ferrothorn is able to take on the bulky Water- and Steel-types that wall Duraludon and set up Spikes. Choice Scarf Excadrill forms a double Choice Scarf core with Duraludon that is great for wearing down teams and allowing each other to sweep. Excadrill’s Earthquake allows it to KO Steel-types that Duraludon can’t hurt. Pokemon with good Special Defense such as Jellicent, Sableye, Jirachi, and Galarian Corsola wall Duraludon; Bisharp is able to force out or KO these Pokemon with a Swords Dance boost. Aegislash’s Ghost typing allows it to stop Rapid Spin and take Fighting-type attacks for Duraludon. Lucario’s Fighting-type attacks allow it to take on Steel-type Pokemon that wall Duraludon. Priority users such as Aegislash, Bisharp, and Lucario make for excellent teammates thanks to their ability to KO faster Choice Scarf users that Duraludon struggles with, such as Galarian Darmanitan and Gengar.

Mention how Choice Scarf allows it to revenge kill some threatening Pokemon such as Hydreigon and Dragapult.

Might as well give Light Metal a mention and how it lets it take less from Low Kick.

Bisharp doesn't really beat Toxapex reliably so I'd remove that bit.

I would give Aegislash a bigger emphasis as a Fighting check rather than Corviknight, since Corviknight runs a Specially Defensive set and most Fighting-type attacks are physical. Also mention how Aegislash can block Rapid Spin which supports Duraludon's Stealth Rock and Ferrothorn's Spikes.

Give Lucario a mention as its great against opposing Steel teams as well as Dark and Normal.

Slash Thunder Wave with Stealth Rock.

[SET COMMENTS]
"This set allows Duraludon to combine its two roles as an all-out attacker and Stealth Rock setter effectively. "
First line needs to be about how it's a Choice Scarf user that can handle Dragon teams very well due to its access to Dragon STAB. You can talk about Stealth Rock later on.

"Choice Scarf Duraludon is very important in the dragon matchup due to its ability to revenge kill Hydreigon and Dragapult. "
Just rephrase this to something like "Draco Meteor is Duraludon's strongest STAB attack and is especially important for beating Dragon-type Pokemon such as Hydreigon and Dragapult."

Drop down Stealth Rock and talk about it here. Then you can talk about opportunities to use it in the line after that since it's Choice locked.

Talk about Thunder Wave and name some examples of Pokemon it cripples like Corviknight.

"Duraludon is the most effective when used early- to mid-game, which is the best time to set up Stealth Rock. "
This isn't true. Duraludon is also great late game. Instead you could say how it should try to spread paralysis and get up Stealth Rock earlier on in the game? Otherwise you can remove it.

Can we get a usage tip here about the Dragon matchup?

I feel like this is a good place to explain the Speed EVs and Choice Scarf are important to allow it to outspeed the Dragon-type Pokemon which would otherwise prove to be problematic as well as other Pokemon like x and x.

Corviknight can also beat some of the Pokemon Duraludon struggles with by setting up on them with Taunt. Name some examples of these Pokemon, like Snorlax, Toxapex, and Ferrothorn are some you can use. Talk about Duraludon's Thunder Wave supporting Corviknight too, and say how it's good for paralyzing things like Bisharp, Pelipper, and opposing Corviknight for it to outspeed.

You need to talk about Duraludon and Excadrill forming a core as Choice Scarf users, and how they break down checks for each other to sweep.

Bisharp gets burned by Corsola and you definitely don't want that happening in the Ghost matchup.

Just say how Lucario can beat Steel-type Pokemon and give examples for Duraludon. I don't know what beating Dark and Normal have to do with Duraludon specifically seeing as Duraludon can also be pretty useful in those two.

Need to talk about the priority users and how they can take on faster Pokemon that Duraludon struggle with like Choice Scarf Gengar, Galarian Darmanitan, and Barraskewda under Rain.

A lot of details, feel free to PM me on Discord if you have any questions.

In return, Duraludon can paralyze pPokemon that outspeed Corviknight, allowing Corviknight to use Taunt to and set up on them with taunt (I feel like this could be misleading, as you made it seem like Corviknight sets up with Taunt). Pokemon should always be spelled without the accent.

Jolly Togekiss ^-^ Could you relook over TDP's check and implement it more carefully please? For example, Pokémon should be Pokemon and Darmanitan-galar should be Galarian Darmanitan. Tag me when you're done and I'll upload it.

Uploaded, remember to pay attention to formatting next time. For example, the set should be formatted like this and [SET COMMENTS] should be included with the credits formatted correctly with a comma after Conflux's.
