[OVERVIEW]
Dusclops differentiates itself from other stall staples by being one of the bulkiest walls in the metagame due to Eviolite. This bulk allows Dusclops to check several Pokemon in one slot such as Z-Me First Pinsir, Silvally-Dragon, and Swanna. Dusclops also has access to Pressure, which allows it to outlast several of its foes by draining their PP, forcing them to Struggle. This is great for bulkier teams that would otherwise have a rough matchup with the aforementioned wallbreakers. However, Dusclops doesn't sport any useful resistances to complement its fantastic bulk; in fact, its weakness to Dark exacerbates Dusclops' heavy reliance on Eviolite to maintain its bulk, compounded by the prevalence of Knock Off users such as Leafeon and Pawniard. Dusclops also doesn't have access to any reliable recovery options outside of Rest, meaning it has to rely on Sleep Talk pulling out the correct moves. Lastly, Dusclops also has to rely on Seismic Toss to deal significant damage to foes, further hampering its matchup versus Ghost-types such as Gourgeist-XL and opposing Dusclops, showcasing its overall passivity.

Moves
========
Rest allows Dusclops to keep itself healthy enough to check foes throughout the entire match and is useful for stalling out foes. Sleep Talk allows Dusclops to potentially use Will-O-Wisp or Seismic Toss while asleep, somewhat circumventing its passivity . Will-O-Wisp burns physical attackers such as Pinsir, Electivire, and Silvally-Fighting and provides means of dealing residual damage against them. Will-O-Wisp also acts as a deterrent for Dark-types such as Pawniard from directly switching in. Seismic Toss bypasses Dusclops' awful offensive stats with a fixed damage output attack that 4HKOs the majority of the metagame.

Set Details
========
Dusclops' maximum HP and Defense EVs alongside its Bold nature allows it to check physical attackers such as Golem and Pinsir lacking Knock Off. Eviolite boosts Dusclops’ Defense and Special Defense, giving it a discernible defensive niche over Dusknoir. Pressure uses up two PP for every one attack unleashed against Dusclops, allowing Dusclops to easily drain Pokemon out of moves that have low PP such as Floatzel's Liquidation and Golem's Stone Edge.

Usage Tips
========
Dusclops should be used to primarily check special attackers such as Silvally-Water, Silvally-Dragon, and Choice Scarf Chatot, although it can still check physical attackers such as Z-Me First Pinsir and Silvally-Fighting by virtue of its typing. Rest is Dusclops' only means of somewhat reliable recovery and should consider when the most opportune time to use Rest is. Using Rest too early can use up PP faster than expected and force Dusclops to passively rely on Sleep Talk to pull the correct moves. Dusclops should use Will-O-Wisp against common physical attackers such as Electivire and Z-Me First Pinsir. Knocking Off Dusclops is the most common way to cripple Dusclops, as by removing its Eviolite, Dusclops becomes easier to beat. Dusclops should always scout for Knock Off from common users such as Komala by going into a dedicated Knock Off resist such as Silvally-Fighting Secondarly, Toxic users such as Bronzor and Cradily can all force Dusclops to Rest prematurely, so Dusclops should switch out into a Toxic-immune Pokemon such as Muk or Mawile. Lastly, Pursuit users such as Silvally-Dark can trap a weakened Dusclops, so double-switching is the most optimal play.

Team Options
========
Pokemon who check common threats such as Leafeon and Electivire, like Altaria and Avalugg, complement Dusclops very well, forming a solid defensive core. Pokemon that can absorb Knock Off such as Silvally-Fighting and Z-Toxic and Z-Spite variants of Pyukumuku make great teammates, as Dusclops tends to draw the attention of Knock Off users such as Komala and Pawniard due to its Dark weakness and reliance on its Eviolite for bulk. Pyukumuku is also notable for checking several setup sweepers such as Focus Blast Simipour and Swords Dance Pinsir due to its fantastic ability Unaware, a crucial element of the stall archetypes Dusclops fits best on. Pokemom such as Lickilicky and Komala are important teammates, as opposing Ghost-types such as Gourgeist-XL are immune to Seismic Toss and don't really care about Will-O-Wisp. They don't appreciate being Leech Seeded as they switch into Gourgeist-XL, however. Dusclops fits primarily on stall teams, which necessitate both entry hazards and entry hazard control. Bulky Pokemon that have access to Stealth Rock and Spikes such as Golem, Bronzor, and Quilladin are crucial for chipping away at the opposing team's health, while Rapid Spin and Defog users such as Komala, Altaria, and Vibrava ensure Dusclops' own team doesn't get worn down too quickly.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============
Night Shade is comparative to Seismic Toss in that it deals fixed damage to Ghost-types such as Gourgeist-XL and Misdreavus that Dusclops wouldn't be able to hit otherwise. However, being able to hit Normal-types such as Kecleon and Silvally is way more important. Furthermore, without Seismic Toss, Heal Bell Lickilicky, Substitute variants of Bouffalant and Vigoroth, as well as Comatose Komala would otherwise be able to fully wall Dusclops. Dusclops may seem to be a fantastic PP stall with Pressure and the combination of Spite and Mean Look. However, Pyukumuku is better in this role despite lacking Pressure due to its inability to be overcome by Pokemon such as Simisear that can set up against Dusclops thanks to Unaware or its weakness and susceptibility to Knock Off. Toxic can be used over Will-O-Wisp to gain more residual damage against foes and also hits Fire-types such as Rapidash and Combusken. However, the utility of halving a foe's Attack stat is too meaningful for the specially-invested Dusclops. A set consisting of Calm Mind, Ice Beam, Rest, and Sleep Talk could allow Dusclops to take on the role of a bulky win-con. However, Dusclops is incredibly prone to being Knocked Off while asleep, compromising its bulk and therefore underperforming as a bulky win-con compared to other Pokemon such as Curse Muk.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Eviolite Removal**: Knock Off, Trick, and Switcheroo such as Komala, Choice Scarf Rotom-S, and Choice Specs Floatzel can remove Dusclops’ Eviolite, significantly compromising its bulk, and, in the case of the latter two, can completely cripple Dusclops for the rest of the game.

**Dark-types**: Dark-types such as Pawniard and Silvally-Dark all threaten to either 2HKO or 3HKO Dusclops. The former two in particular are notable for their access to STAB Knock Off, removing Dusclops’ Eviolite and making it easier to KO. They all do not appreciate being burned by Will-O-Wisp, however.

**Setup Sweepers and Wallbreakers**: Pokemon such as Simisear, Choice Specs Beheeyem, and Rampardos can overcome Dusclops’ immense bulk through means of setting up or their sheer strength.

**Ghost-types**: Ghost-types such as special Gourgeist-XL and Misdreavus are immune to Seismic Toss, are unfazed by Will-O-Wisp, and will either wear it down over time with Leech Seed and Foul Play or threaten to 2HKO it with Hex while asleep from Dusclops using Rest.

**Taunt users**: Taunt users such as Floatzel and Fraxure can prevent Dusclops from inducing burn status against its foes and restoring its health, shutting down its walling capabilities considerably.

[OVERVIEW]
  • Dusclops' differentiates itself from other stall staples by being one of the bulkiest walls in the metagame due to Eviolite. This bulk allows Dusclops to check several Pokemon in one slot such as Z-Me First Pinsir, Silvally-Dragon, and Swanna.
  • Dusclops also has access to Pressure, which allows it to outlast several of its foes by draining their PP and force them to Struggle. Kind of vague so be sure to specify that this is great for bulkier teams that tend to struggle with the aforementioned breakers.
  • However, Dusclops doesn't sport main resistance to make use of its fantastic bulk; in fact, its weakness to Dark exacerbates Dusclops' heavy reliance on Eviolite to maintain its bulk. Mention the popularity of Knock Off and how it pressures it.
  • Dusclops also doesn't have access to any reliable recovery options outside of Rest, meaning it has to rely on Sleep Talk pulling out the correct moves. This also leaves Dusclops as setup fodder for foes such as Simisear and Fraxure.
  • Lastly, Dusclops has to rely on Seismic Toss to deal significant damage to foes, drawing the attention of Ghost-types such as Silvally-Ghost who are not only immune to Seismic Toss, but can super effectively nail Dusclops back. Last two points get a bit too detailed so I would just emphasize that Dusclops is extremely passive due to its moveset and can be used as setup fodder/invite breakers in.

Moves
========
  • Rest restores all of Dusclops’ health and changes its status condition to being asleep. This allows Dusclops to keep itself healthy enough to check foes throughout the entire match. Fluff. Mention that Rest is also useful when stalling out foes.
  • Sleep Talk allows Dusclops to potentially use Will-O-Wisp or Seismic Toss while asleep, circumventing its passivity somewhat.
  • Will-O-Wisp burns physical attackers such as Pinsir, Electivire, and Silvally-Fighting and provides means of dealing residual damage against them.
  • Seismic Toss bypasses Dusclops' awful offensive stats with a fixed damage output attack that 4HKOs the majority of the metagame.
Set Details
========
  • Dusclops' maximum HP and Special Defense EVs alongside its Calm nature allows it to check special attackers such as mixed Life Orb Electivire, Zebstrika, Silvally-Poison, and Swanna. Mixed Evire runs Wild Charge (the analysis set) so I'd swap that example.
  • Eviolite boosts Dusclops’ Defense and Special Defense, giving it a discernible defensive niche over Dusknoir.
  • Pressure uses up two PP for every one attack unleashed against Dusclops, allowing Dusclops to easily drain Pokemon out of moves that have low PP such as Floatzel's Hydro Pump and Silvally-Dragon's Draco Meteor.
Usage Tips
========
  • Dusclops should be used to primarily check special attackers such as Silvally-Water, Silvally-Dragon, and Choice Scarf Chatot, although it can still check physical attackers such as Z-Me First Pinsir and Silvally-Fighting by virtue of its typing.
  • Rest is Dusclops' only means of somewhat reliable recovery and should consider when the most opportune time to use Rest is. Using Rest too early can use up PP faster than expected and force Dusclops to passively rely on Sleep Talk to pull the correct moves.
  • Knocking Off Dusclops is the most common way to cripple Dusclops, as by removing its Eviolite Dusclops becomes easier to beat. Some Knock Off users such as Komala and Shiftry can run multiple viable sets that both include and exclude Knock Off, making them hard to check without prior scouting. Dusclops should always scout for Knock Off by going into a dedicated Knock Off resist such as Silvally-Fighting. Point can be condensed. Just say that Dusclops should be wary of Knock Off from blank because...
  • Secondarly, Toxic users such as Dugtrio, Bronzor, and Cradily can all force Dusclops to Rest prematurely, so Dusclops should switch out into a Toxic-immune Pokemon such as Muk or Mawile.
  • Lastly, Pursuit users such as Bouffalant and Silvally-Dark can trap a weakened Dusclops, so double-switching is the most optimal play.
Mention when to use Will-O-Wisp.

Team Options
========
  • Physically defensive walls such as Tangela, Altaria, and Avalugg complement Dusclops very well and form a solid defensive core. May seem obvious but explain what they check that Dusclops appreciates.
  • Pokemon that can absorb Knock Off such as Silvally-Fighting and Z-Toxic and Z-Spite variants of Pyukumuku make great teammates, as Dusclops tends to draw the attention of Knock Off users such as Shiftry, Komala, and Drifblim due to its Dark weakness and reliance on its Eviolite for bulk.
  • Pyukumuku is also notable for checking several setup sweepers such as Focus Blast Nasty Plot Simipour and Swords Dance Pinsir due to its fantastic ability Unaware, a crucial element of the stall archetypes Dusclops fits best on.
  • Pokemom such as Lickilicky and Komala are important teammates, as opposing Ghost-types such as Silvally-Ghost and Gourgeist-XL are immune to Seismic Toss and don't really care about Will-O-Wisp. Explain how they pressure Gourg-XL since it can Leech Seed them for free and switch out.
  • Dusclops fits primarily on stall teams, which necessitate both entry hazards and entry hazard control.

Furthermore, without Seismic Toss, Heal Bell Lickilicky, Substitute variants of Bouffalant and Vigoroth, as well as Comatose Komala would otherwise be able to fully wall Dusclops.
  • Pain Split is Dusclops' only other recovery option, but its extremely inconsistent and doesn't alleviate its own status conditions, making it extremely reliant on Lickilicky for Wish and Heal Bell support. Not worth it. Too inconsistent.
  • Dusclops may seem to be a fantastic PP stall with Pressure and the combination of Spite and Mean Look. However, Pyukumuku is better in this role despite lacking Pressure due to its inability to be overcome by Pokemon such as Simisear that can set up against Dusclops thanks to Unaware or its weakness and susceptibility to Knock Off.
  • Toxic can be used over Will-O-Wisp to gain more residual damage against foes and also hits Fire-types such as Rapidash and Combusken. However, the utility of halving a foe's Attack stat is too meaningful for the specially-invested Dusclops
  • A physically defensive EV spread alongside a Bold nature could theoretically allow Dusclops to check Pokemon such as Z-Me First Pinsir, among other physical attackers better. However, this extra physical investment doesn’t improve its matchup versus Knock Off users such Shiftry at all and only worsens it versus special attackers such as Simisear and Shadow Ball variants of Silvally-Ghost. It's never going to be checking Shiftry so I would remove that part entirely.
  • A set consisting of Calm Mind, Ice Beam, Rest, and Sleep Talk could allow Dusclops to take on the role of a bulky win-con. However, Dusclops is incredibly prone to being Knocked Off while asleep, compromising its bulk and therefore underperforming as a bulky win-con compared to other Pokemon such as Curse Muk.
  • Hex, Shadow Ball, and Shadow Punch are attacking options that can be used over Seismic Toss. The former even notably works well in tandem with Will-O-Wisp. However, due to Dusclops’ pathetic, uninvested attacking stats, they usually deal less damage than Seismic Toss unless they are super effective, and even then they make Dusclops walled by Normal-types such as Komala and Substitute Vigoroth. Not worth it because without Seismic Toss or even CM Ice Beam, Dusclops becomes incredibly exploitable.
Checks and Counters
===================

**Taunt users**: Taunt users such as Floatzel, Oricorio-E, and Fraxure can prevent Dusclops from inducing burn status against its foes and restoring its health, shutting down its walling capabilities considerably.

Dusclops also doesn't have access to any reliable recovery options outside of Rest, meaning it has to rely on Sleep Talk pulling out the correct moves. Lastly, Dusclops also has to rely on Seismic Toss and Toxic to deal significant damage to foes, further hampering its matchup versus Ghost-types and Toxic immunities such as Gourgeist-XL and opposing Dusclops Muk, showcasing its overall passivity. (Toxic lets it break down opposing Ghosts but is passive with multiple immunities, worth mentioning in the overview)

(Toxic has seen significantly more usage on Dusclops for at least the past 6 months, and is the preferred status for outstalling / threatening bulkier mons like Gourg and Liki, while still putting offensive mons like Silvally-Dragon or Exeggutor on a timer. Wisp is still useful but should be a second consideration, not a first)

Rest allows Dusclops to keep itself healthy enough to check foes throughout the entire match and is useful for stalling out foes. Sleep Talk allows Dusclops to potentially use Will-O-Wisp Toxic or Seismic Toss while asleep, somewhat circumventing its passivity .
(Add a sentence or so on Toxic's uses, as I mentioned earlier. Toxic punishes the special attackers its supposed to check much more while preventing some other walls from outstalling it, which of course combos with Pressure very well)

Set Details
========

Usage Tips
========

(Mention saving / using Dusclops for PP stalling on either late game scenarios or midgame to be a switch in and halve the uses of moves like Draco Meteor or Toxic Spikes, as stall greatly appreciates removing these moves from play)

They don't appreciate being Leech Seeded as they switch into Gourgeist-XL,(Untrue if clops runs Toxic). however. Dusclops fits primarily on stall teams, which necessitate both entry hazards and entry hazard control. Bulky Pokemon that have access to Stealth Rock and Spikes Toxic Spikes such as Golem, Bronzor, and Quilladin Mareanie (quil is both irrelevant and spikes arent ran on stall, while Mare both compliments clops and has tspikes to help with stalling) are crucial for chipping away at the opposing team's health, while Rapid Spin and Defog users such as Komala, Altaria, and Vibrava ensure Dusclops' own team doesn't get worn down too quickly.

Other Options
=============
However, the utility of halving a foe's Attack stat is too meaningful for the specially-invested Dusclops (Toxic is the main status, so this statement should be removed entirely).

(Mention how special defensive sets have been becoming popular and allow clops to fill that role on some teams, allowing it to take special hit better but still fails to outstall special wallbreakers like choice specs Simisear or Egg)

Checks and Counters
===================
