Welcome to Round 1 of Doubles World Cup! The structure of Round 1 is as follows:
Teams consist of eight starters and four substitutes. All games are best of one (bo1) and will be played in their respective tier. Replays are mandatory, as this tournament is a great opportunity for metagame development.
Follow all rules and guidelines listed here.
In the first round, players will be placed in groups of 4-6 wherein they'll battle three of their opponents. Divisions have been assigned randomly.
Teams will be ranked on records. The eight teams with the best record will qualify for the quarterfinals, with the first seed facing the eight seed, the second seed facing the seventh seed, and so on. If two or more teams within the top eight have identical records, points will be used to sort out the tiebreaks. However, if there is a tie in records for the last spot, points will be ignored and the teams will face off in a tiebreak series. The tiebreak will consist of SV DOU, as well as a tier chosen by each team. Tiebreak games are Best of 1.
Substitutes:
There are four substitutes per roster. Once a player is substituted out, they cannot be substituted back in for the pools phase. This means if you substitute a player out of this phase, they are substituted out of all of their remaining pool games. They may return for playoffs rounds.
Important notice: Every player is expected to finish at least one game against their pools opponents in THE FIRST WEEK. This means we expect every player to complete at least ONE game by <t:1762235940:F>.
