Effect of Sandstorm:

  • The Special Defense of Rock-type Pokemon is increased by 50%
  • All non-Rock-, Steel-, and Ground-type Pokemon and Pokemon without the ability Magic Guard, Sand Veil, or Overcoat take 1/16 damage at the end of every turn.
  • The evasion of a Pokemon with the Sand Veil ability is increased by 20%.
  • Solarbeam's Base Power is reduced from 120 to 60.
  • Synthesis, Moonlight, and Morning Sun only recover 25% of the user's HP, as opposed to the standard 50%.
  • Weather Ball's base power is doubled to 100, and becomes a Rock-type move.

Finishing Words:

Have just gotten started with testing out these Pokes, if there's any Pokemon you feel should or should not be on the list, feel free to voice your opinion.

do we really need a whole article for one weather in one tier? Why not just add it into the Sand article we already have?

UU Sandstorm plays very differently from OU Sandstorm. OU Sand must constantly keep Drizzle and Drought in consideration, which is why things like Rotom-W, Latias, and Heatran are on every one of those teams. UU Sand on the other hand, has Hail and Rain Dance+Swift Swim teams first in mind instead. The supporting pokemon are therefore very different, Fighting is a significantly more useful type for UU Sand to combat Hail teams, whereas in OU, the Fighting types there were Terrakion and Lucario, only because they're Terrakion and Lucario. UU Sand also currently has more direct abusers such as Rhyperior, Stoutland, Carracosta, Aggron, and when the time comes, Sandslash. OU is just Landorus and Terrakion. If anything, Sand is more of an actual weather in UU. Because in OU, Sand is being played more because Tyranitar checks tons of shit. As well the OU Sand Article has only a small blurb about UU Sand in it and neglects great UU Sand Abusers like Empoleon and Carracosta.

Yes, well why not add in UU parts for every section in that article like we do for Pokemon that have multiple tiers in their analyses and last gen's articles?

IMO it would be more organized to have a new thread and then just combine them on site with credits. The OU article is already in GP, so it would be confusing to add new stuff. Plus, it would be easier on GP checkers.

@OP
For Kabutops, you should mention the support role it can play with Stealth Rock and Rapid Spin and sandstorm boosting its base 70 Special Defense. Combine that with good Defense and Attack and you have something pretty versatile. This also gives you the ability to run offensive Hippowdon and still have a reliable source of Stealth Rock.

Mew -> Defensive
Roserade -> Defensive
Suicune -> Defensive
Spiritomb -> Offensive/Defensive (sets such as CB are an amazing check to Alakazam, which can be a big problem to Sand teams, and is a great spinblocker for defensive teams)
Snorlax -> Defensive (Seriously, this thing NEEDS to be added)

Its late, so these mons are mostly off the top of my head, but I'll try to add more tomorrow if I can. Just try them out if you can, i'm sure they won't disapoint.
