ORAS UU EnZo's Comeback Season RMT

Hello friends, I'm FrontierEnZo! I'm fairly decent at uu, but i'm not the greatest teambuilder. I began to play uu about 3 months ago, and I've excelled greatly at the tier. But this team has a lot more to work on, and thats why I'm here, and why I made this RMT! Now, I introduce you to, COMEBACK SEASON!

COMEBACK SEASON BREAKDOWN

latest

Comeback Season (Sharpedo) (M) @ Sharpedonite
Ability: Speed Boost
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Protect
- Waterfall
- Crunch
- Ice Fang
This is the thing that I usually like to sweep with, mid-game or not. The ev spread on this shark is the standard, I just run adamant to hit harder. The moveset is quite standard as well, with protect for pre-mega speed boost, waterfall and crunch for STAB, and ice fang for strong jaw advantage. It's one of my physical sweepers, and I usually use it to make a (Comeback, get it? No, fine, I don't care xD) but to be real, it's a great late game sweeper, and if use correctly, can sweep right off batman's back.

latest

FACE O' MERCY (Whimsicott) (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Spe
Timid Nature
- Encore
- Stun Spore
- Moonblast
- Memento

Oh yes, the physical wall of rage. Whimsicott is a great addition to this team, especially because of how much support it can provide with stun spore to paralyze potential threats like cloyster, feraligatr, and aerodactyl, and encore to lock opponents into moves like stealth rock sometimes. Memento works when I want to sack this off and to go into something and set up, I'll take about those pokes later on, and also for rocks. Moonblast is just there for STAB, the STAB I don't really care about, but it works well.

373.gif

Mockingjay (Salamence) (F) @ Life Orb
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Roost
- Draco Meteor
- Fire Blast
- Outrage

This is the poke that really throws people off, not the mon itself, but the set. This salamence is a great lure to things like doublade, due to fire blast, and can screw people over who think they have a good time to set up, or to go to something like blissey after a draco's dropped, which is why I have outrage. It's a great lure for special walls. Roost is just for the life orb damage and some damage probably received in battle. Life orb is pretty normal, just to increase the attacking power of this beast.

feraligatr-front-gif.49680

Jawlly (Feraligatr) (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Sheer Force
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Waterfall
- Aqua Jet
- Crunch
- Swords Dance

Remember how I said whimsicott's memento is for my pokes that set up? Well, this is one of them. I feel like feraligatr is just such a great physical sweeper. Life orb's almost manditory, and adamant nature is for that max attack power. I run swords dance over dragon dance because of the significant power this thing can receive and use after just one SD. Waterfall is its main stab, while crunch is for other pokes, like reiunclus and things like suicune. Aqua jet is for some powerful priority that's saved me many times.

Cobalion_XY.gif

Fancy (Cobalion) @ Life Orb
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- Swords Dance
- Rock Polish
- Iron Head

This is the second physical sweeper, and this one is the one that quite shocks the opponents. I run life orb for the power that cobalion desperately needs, and jolly for outspeeding some mons that may be scarfed. Double set up with SD and rock polish is to be able to outspeed the opponents whole team. Close combat is main STAB, and iron head for fairies, *cough, florges.

azelf-gif.27894

Y U HAVE NO FEET (Azelf) @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Psyshock
- Energy Ball
- Fire Blast
- Stealth Rock

This is my main hazard setter, and probably is one of the pokes that really confuses the enemy. I run life orb to bluff a sash, so then I can set up my rocks. I use psyshock for blissey's and florges's, and things like machamp. Energy ball is for them annoying swamperts, and fire blast for things like mega aggron.

Well, thats the whole team! I need all the help I need, so please feel free to post the tips you think would positively affect this team! Thank you, and have a good one!

I like the initial look of this team and a solid core of offensive mons. Anyways, onto the rate!
  • First off, I really feel like a spread of 248 HP / 132 Def / 128 Spe Timid > Max HP / Max Def is optimal as it allows Whimsicott to outspeed base 100 Speed Pokemon and below such as Salamence and Hydreigon and hit them hard / OHKO with its Moonblast.
  • Secondly, I would suggest running Defog > Outrage and Timid > Naive with 4 Attack EVs ---> 4 Special Defense EVs. This allows you to have an amazing Defogger on your team while also still applying the pressure you want as Outrage is not needed imo since you should be forced out on special walls after dropping a Draco since they are just going to tank your attacks anyways. If you are wanting to keep your spread / lure idea, I would run Iron Tail > Outrage so you can hit Florges hard and have it not threaten you out.
  • Thirdly, I love the idea of Dual Dance Cobalion (some awesome innovation imo) but I feel like Cobalion benefits from running Shuca Berry > Life Orb as it has an easier time setting up against things it should set up against, but can't such as Mamoswine and Krookodile. This also gives the potential to set up both Rock Polish and Swords Dance if needed.
Other than that, the team looks fun and welcome to the tier! :)

I'll second iron tail > outrage on mence

Honestly I feel lum on dual dance cobal way more than a resist berry or life orb. The pseudo status immunity is just huge.

Taunt on mshark over ice fang could be a pretty big deal given how much this team hates shit like roarcune, tangrowth,, alomamola and amoongus. It may sound odd to drop coverage to run this but this is just another nice way to force setups with cobal and gatr.

If you feel like shuffling mon's around I feel like Maero + NP toxicroak would greatly out preform azelf + mshark on this setup.

Hey man, you got a cool looking team here. NV and jjoshcja already covered a few things that would help out I'd like to recommend a couple of other things that could benefit this team :]
  • So first off, I noticed that this team had a pretty hard time dealing with a Regen Core, like Slowking, Alomomola, Tangrowth, etc. My first recommendation would be to run Nasty Plot over Stealth Rock on Azelf. Nasty Plot Azelf is a huge threat in the tier, due to its speed and the huge power it attains after one Nasty Plot. It also helps you deal with the bulky Water- and Grass-Types in the tier like those mentioned before. Here's the set I would run with NP Azelf
    azelf.gif

Azelf @ Life Orb /Focus Sash
    Ability: Levitate
    EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
    Timid Nature
    - Psyshock
    - Energy Ball / Dazzling Gleam
    - Fire Blast
    - Nasty Plot
It's essentially the same set with a couple of options in Dazzling Gleam to hit Hydreigon or a Sash to set-up a bit easier, although you're prone to priority afterwards.
  • After the Azelf change, this team was lacking Stealth Rocks. Although Double Dance Cobalion is a really cool set, I think you should use Stealth Rock over Rock Polish on Coba. Again, I really do like the concept of Double Dance Cobalion, but I feel that Nasty Plot Azelf could help you deal with more threats more easily. I'd also recommend using Leftovers or Shuca Berry over Life Orb on Cobalion as well, as the recovery from lefties/free hit from a Ground-Type could be really beneficial and allow you to set-up.
  • Lastly, I'd run Defog over Outrage on Salamence and use the spread NV suggested, Sticky Webs or Spike Stack can really hurt offensive teams, that's why its almost essential for every offensive team to have hazard control of some sort.
But yeah, other than those small changes, its a very solid hyper offensive team. Good luck! :]

Before I say anything else, I want to say that I love the way this team is put together. The momento Whimsicott is an excellent way to help your other 'mons set up, and the team is very solid offensively. There are, however, a few things that I would suggest.

1) There seems to be a lack of coverage move-wise. Lots of water and dragon moves all over the board, so I would totally third switching Outrage with Iron Tail on 'mence, but there are other decent coverage moves which you can add on him, like Stone Edge. Steel types are also a bit of a problem, as many pack EQ that can one-shot Cobalion and Azelf is rather frail. I guess my point is that more coverage would be good. Replace Feraligatr's Crunch with EQ and Salamence's Outrage with either Iron Tail or Stone Edge and your coverage problem is helped.

2) Also, beware electric moves! Whimsicott is the only Pokemon on your team with Electrice resistance, so beware strong thunderbolt users like Ampharos Mega.

3) This is mainly for Azelf. I would highly recommend getting rid of Psyshock and replacing it with Psychic, and getting rid of Stealth Rock and replacing it with Nasty Plot. I feel like you're trying to use Azelf for too much. You have set up as a special sweeper, but you give him Stealth Rock and a move that targets defense when you have three other physical sweepers? Just simplify his role and he'll work beautifully. Also, for sure Focus Sash him. You have enough Life Orbers on your team, and sash will ensure a Nasty Plot set up should you decide to switch around his moveset.

4) Feraligatr seems a little...out of place here. He is a wonderful Pokemon, don't get me wrong, but you already have another water AND another flying Pokemon on your team, while Sharpedo has pretty much the exact same role but fills it much better. (I'm a bit tired at time of writing, so my brain is having a hard time coming up with good examples) You could use Infernape.
Yeah. That's my spiel.

The team looks decent but I feel like there could be a few changes to ensure you're less prone to a few threats.
  • First off, I feel like having offensive Whimsicott over defensive Whimsicott, as this allows you to maintain the defensive quality Whimsicott was providing to the team without it being outsped or failing to KO things it really should for the team.
  • Next I recommend having Doublade over Cobalion, as this gives you an actual Fairy-resist, something your team severely lacked and is the biggest problem your team has atm. Doublade also still provides you with a setup sweeper but has priority to make up for the loss of Rock Polish and Speed. Doublade also provides a more solid answer against Aerodactyl and Snorlax, as well as a Fighting-immunity and solid Slurpuff check.
  • I also recommend having Hydreigon over Salamence, as this provides a Chandelure switch-in, stallbreaker, and secondary Suicune check. You lose out on some Speed and a Fighting-type resist but honestly I feel Hydreigon is much better here since we've already made Whimsicott a faster variant and have dual priority, plus a Speed Boost user, so I don't believe Speed is much of an issue here. Fighting-type resistance is made up for with Doublade and Hydreigon also checks Krookodile better than Salamence does.
Whimsicott @ Pixie Plate / Yache Berry
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- U-turn
- Moonblast
- Encore
- Energy Ball / Stun Spore

OK so I don't think Stun Spore is as necessary on this team considering we have priority users and overall some pretty decently fast things but it's never bad to have some paralysis spread on any team. Energy Ball is the first slash here though, as it helps with smacking bulky Water-types and Ground-types, especially stuff like Mamoswine. I felt like Memento wasn't as necessary considering this team would probably much prefer the option of having U-turn momentum. You can use Pixie Plate to OHKO most Dragon-types and such but if you feel you're too weak to Mamoswine having Yache is a must. Yache also helps with switching in against Feraligatr and Sharpedo too, as well as generally revenge killing them.

Doublade @ Eviolite
Ability: No Guard
EVs: 240 HP / 252 Atk / 16 SpD
Brave Nature / Adamant Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Shadow Sneak
- Swords Dance
- Sacred Sword
- Gyro Ball / Iron Head

OK so I chose to have Gyro Ball on the first slash because it helps when wanting to revenge kill Dragon Dance Salamence, which we only have Whimsicott to help stop atm, and there's a lot of pressure on Whimsicott as is so I wanted to help alleviate that. You can use Iron head over it though should the consistency be more appealing. If you do choose to use Iron Head don't forget to remove the 0 Spe IVs.

Hydreigon @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Roost
- Draco Meteor
- Dark Pulse
- Taunt

Uh yeah nothing to say about this set tbh, it's pretty unchangeable to suit the team, although I guess you could have Leftovers > Life Orb and Dragon Pulse > Draco Meteor but that diminishes some of the offensive presence and overall firepower, which I wouldn't want.
