[INTRODUCTION]
Espeon is a strong pokemon that have multi type moves, magic bounce that can counter status and hazards, which can have a great performance on OU.
[MOVESET&ABILITY]
Dazzling Gleam- It’s mostly for counter hydreigon, Kommo-o and some Dark-type pokemon if they expect Espeon will use Psychic-type moves.
Grass Knot- refer to ‘Sword & Shield OU Useage Stats For April’, Seismitoad and Hippowdon is a very big thread, though grass knot can counter it well.
Psychic- The main attack move which can do tons of damage on toxapex, conkeldurr, and Hawlucha.
Zap Cannon- The move that can clean up Mandibuzz, and corviknight which is great (if both zap cannon hits). It’s a very great move if you don’t have counter on these two pokemon and you want to use Espeon. Though, it’s very risky so you might choose this—
Quick attack- Just the normal use of quick attack, to clean up focus sash pokemon: Cloyster, Gengar, Venusaur and Mamoswine.
Magic bounce- rare ability that bounce all hazards and status moves back if you can time it right. Great ability that can create a more flexibility environment for fire/ Flying-type teammates(Stealth Rock)
[COUNTERS]
Just a simple Mimikyu, Aegislash, Bisharp or any ghost/Dark-type pokemon with priority and easily take out it because of low Def/ SpD.
Steel-type pokemon can also counter it because Espeon can’t hurt it a lot with the above moveset.
Tyranitar, also can counter it because Dazzling Gleam, Sand Stream and Weakness Policy.
[TEAMMATES]
Cinderace because of stealth rock so now it can bring other items, instead of boots. It can also counter the enemy, Steel-type pokemon of Espeon.
Lucario because of justified if opponent might use knock off/ any other Dark-type moves. And it also can counter Bisharp, Tyranitar, Ferrothorn, and Excadrill with Fighting-type moves.
Sirfetch’d because, also Fighting-type and scrappy ability which can also counter Aegislash.
