Well, I just recently got into RU (yesterday to be exact, don't criticize me on that). I was tired of all the crowd and popularity of OU, so I decided to move a little lower, where it was more populated with Pokemon, therefore giving me more choices, but less people, making it easier to ladder and stuff like that. Also, as to why the team is called Evolutions of Life, well it's kin of obvious. People take different paths. The people that fight karate, and wrestling and stuff like that became Hitmonlees. The people that were obsessed with gardening became Sceptiles. These video game nerds became Electivires, and the old people became fossils, later to be brought back to life as Omastars. The other video game nerds became Magnetons, and "psychic" people became Gardevoirs. They all evolved. So, here's how I built the team:

Teambuilding Process

I wanted Sceptile to come first, because I was told it was a great sweeper for RU, and after a Swords Dance, not much can stop it. It is also one of my favorite starters, so I thought "Why not give it a try?"

Next I wanted something that could take hits, and for some crazy reason Alomomola came to mind. It had the HP, the Defense, and it could Toxic stall for the longest time with Wish support. It's lackluster Special Defense however, will be discussed later.

So I had a sweeper and a wall. Since Sceptile does best cleaning up late-game, I decided to put something that can punch holes in the oponent's team, clearing way for Sceptile's victorious sweep. Electivire came to mind. It hits 13/17 types for super-effective damage, and every time I use this guy, he kills at least 1 or 2 opposing Pokemon. He's great for punching holes and even pulling on a clean sweep, not even taking a hit, put he'd need to have Motor Drive activated for that.

Now I noticed I had 2 physical sweepers. So I needed a special sweeper. Naturally because I used Cloyster in OU, it's Shell Smash buddy, Omastar, came to mind. Man, this guy is great!

Now I needed a Steel Pokemon, as all teams should have at least one Steel to block Toxic and stuff. Klingklang was the first to come to mind, but I also wanted something a little more that just Steel, something dual-type. Magneton immediately came to mind.

Lastly I needed a Special wall to compensate for Alomomola's weakness there. Cresselia came to mind, as it is for some reason used to little, but has such great potential.

I now needed a spinner for Omastar, and Alomomola wasn't doing nearly as well as I expected. So I switched it for the Spinning Sweeper, Hitmonlee.

It's funny how this team is becoming more offensive. Cresselia wasn't doing really well either, and I needed something strong and fast. Scarf Gardevoir jumped at me. It now KO'es almost as many Pokemon as Electivire per game.

A Detailed Look

106.png

Hitmonlee (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Reckless
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Rapid Spin
- Hi Jump Kick
- Stone Edge
- Blaze Kick

Meet Hitmonlee, one of the most used Pokemon in the tier. Being a tier thankfully where not every single hit KO'es something, Hitmonlee can survive a few hits, giving it room to Rapid Spin and Sweep. Hi Jump Kick + Reckless = Insanity. Stone Edge is for some coverage. Ah yes, Blaze Kick. You may be wondering why I even have this move, but fear not I will tell you. During battles, I observed that a lot of the Pokemon opponents send in to try and counter Hitmonlee have a weakness to Fire. So I thought "Why not give them a little surprise with Blaze Kick?"

254.png

Sceptile @ Flying Gem
Trait: Unburden
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd / 4 Def
Jolly Nature
- Acrobatics
- Swords Dance
- Earthquake
- Leaf Blade

Ah yes, the Grass Master. It can pull off a sweep easily. Switch in on an opponent with a Flying Weakness. Use Acrobatics with more power from the Gem, getting be a Speed Boost from Unburden. Now some Scarfers can't even outspeed Sceptile. Swords Dance guarantees a safe sweep, if I can set it up. But I never actually find the time to, so I might need some help on that.

466.png

Electivire @ Life Orb
Trait: Motor Drive
EVs: 252 Atk / 32 HP / 224 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Wild Charge
- Ice Punch
- Cross Chop
- Earthquake

The super-effective warrior. Man, this guy is amazing. His coverage hits 13/17 types for super-effective damage, and he hits hard like a truck neutrally. Also, if the opponent attempts to use an electric move on Omastar, I can just switch in, get a Motor Drive boost, and boom, my opponent is practically gone.

139.png

Omastar @ White Herb / Focus Sash
Trait: Shell Armor
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Shell Smash
- Surf
- Ice Beam
- Hidden Power [Grass]

This is the Shell Smash buddy of Cloyster, they must be long lost cousins or something, because they both are part Water type, have great Defense, and are capable of successfully getting a Shell Smash sweep. But Omastar has chosen to operate in the depths or RU, while Cloyster is having a party sweeping teams in OU with Skill Link. But fear not, Omastar is just as effective in this tier. The only problem is I'm torn between White herb and Focus Sash.

082.png

Magneton @ Eviolite
Trait: Magnet Pull
EVs: 156 HP / 252 SAtk / 100 Spd
Modest Nature
- Substitute
- Thunder Wave
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Charge Beam

My Steel type of the team. Of course you know that pretty much all teams should have a Steel type, so here's mine. Since Magnezone came along, Magneton can easily abuse Eviolite to it's heart's content. Sub and T-Wave are for stalling and crippling enemy sweepers, while HP Fire and Charge Beam are for when Magneton has a chance to sweep on it's own, considering it's humongous base 120 Special Attack stat.

282.png

Gardevoir (F) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Synchronize
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
IVs: 30 Def / 30 SAtk / 30 SDef / 30 Spd
- Psychic
- Thunderbolt
- Focus Blast
- Shadow Ball

This girl is the bomb. Specs will hit harder but is vulnerable to being KO'ed easily, but Scarf can actually land multiple hits. I stopped counting how many times Gardevoir has won me my battles, and how many times it has saved me from losing. It gets great coverage, and is basically a weaker Gengar with less speed and more bulk.

So there you have it, that's my team. I just started RU yesterday, so don't criticize me like I'm some dumb idiot, I just haven't gotten used to the environment, as I still have some OU blood in me with Omastar and Magneton, as I ran a team with Cloyster, Magnezone, and some dragons, which RU sadly doesn't seem to have. After a few test battles, this is the conlcusion of my team, and my laddering name has reached 1316 in the one battle I actually had with that username. With other usernames, about 25. So, here's an importable version of the team, and I hope you liked it!

Hello there, Skarmory7, nice team you have there. Your team looks pretty solid, but I will suggest some changes. First of all, your team is rather ground weak, with 3 pokes getting hit super effectve and only the physically frail Sceptile resisting it. Therefore, I will suggest changing Magnton to Accelgor, since you need a steel type nowwhere near as much in RU as in OU, and Magneton heavily compounds your ground weakness. The reason for changing to Accelgor is because it softened your ground weakness, keeps up the offensive tone of the team, and it gives you something a good offensive RU team often needs: entry hazards(Spikes, in this case). Second, it will be a good move to change Hitmonlee's item from Leftovers to Life Orb, as although the recovery looks nice, Hitmonlee can't take hits for it's life and Life Orb gives it a lot more bite.

Accelgor @ Focus Sash
Trait: Sticky Hold
EV's: 4 Hp / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid nature
-Spikes
-Bug Buzz
-Focus Blast/ Hidden Power Rock
-U-Turn*My own personal preference for Accelgor, opponents never see it coming

Hitmonlee
Leftovers---->Life Orb

White Herb on Omastar and Expert Belt on Evire because, as you said 13/17 types, and you may just be able to bluff being choiced, so why not? Other than that it looks good. I liked the Accelgor suggestion.

I suggest trace on Gardevoir. It makes it very versatile, as it can switch in on many incoming attacks from opposing Electivires, Enteis. It can trap and k.o. opposing Magnetons, it can intimidate back a lot of physical threats like stoutland. These are just from the top of my head, as there are various more creative applications. Be careful of hustle Durants, or things like Defeatist Archeops, though.
