Evos for Everyone (Slate 21- Keep it Simple)

Official Post:

Voting is now open! We're doing a classic 3-vote system now. You cannot vote for yourself as your first vote.

Tauros: x, x, x
Luvdisc: x, x, x
Entei: x, x, x

Tagging everyone who submitted. Does that suck? Let me know and I won't next time.
Gravity Monkey
Origin0
Dilasc
Samtendo09
ToadBrigade
Scoopapa
Ticktock
Yoshiblaze
Brodaha

We also have an even amount of people on the Council right now which is bad if we ever have to vote on something, so I would appreciate if someone else would PM me to join.

Voting will close in 72 hours.

So many good Luvdisc submissions, it was hard to decide. Also, why is everyone copy and pasting their votes?

They probably didn't have enough time to vote so they had to improvise or at least put their imput quickly.

Okay but theyre not just similar its copy pasted, twice

And there is still a day and a half more to vote so time isnt an issue. Thats just lazy voting if its bcz they couldnt decide

Suggestion: Should we aim to make Legendary pre-evos viable in LC Ubers to compete with the powercreep of Pokemon such as Scyther, Sneasel, and now Pokemon like Tauros?

I don't mind too much, maybe they can only access the internet at certain times. It is frustrating, but there isn't much I can do about it.

I think making them viable in LC would make for a more interesting metagame because LC has a larger playerbase than LC Ubers. Another thing I thought of is some of the pokemon we make evolutions for cannot be obtained at level 5 or lower, putting them in a similar situation as Type: Null.

Official Post: Slate 2 Winners

That was more than an hour. Congratulations to ToadBrigade , Samtendo09 , and Brodaha (me), for winning their Taurochs, Amourami and Sorbtisc, and Kuji, respectively. This is already looking like it's going to be a cool meta.

I'm planning on having a 5-person council, so that means 2 more people can join. PM me to apply.

The new slate will be up today, feel free to discuss the new pokemon or ideas you have for the mod in the short downtime.

Taurochs is certainly interesting, outspeeding Tapu Koko and speed tieing with Ash-Greninja. Angered Charge plus Choice Band will make Taurochs a fast, fearsome wallbreaker. Some calcs:

252 SpA Life Orb Tapu Koko Thunderbolt vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Taurochs in Electric Terrain: 265-312 (82.5 - 97.1%) -- 68.8% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock
252 SpA Choice Specs Greninja Water Shuriken (15 BP) (3 hits) vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Taurochs: 216-258 (67.2 - 80.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock
252 SpA Choice Specs Greninja Water Shuriken (15 BP) (4 hits) vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Taurochs: 288-344 (89.7 - 107.1%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock
252 SpA Choice Specs Greninja-Ash Water Shuriken (20 BP) (3 hits) vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Taurochs: 384-456 (119.6 - 142%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock
0 Atk Landorus-Therian Earthquake vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Taurochs: 270-318 (84.1 - 99%) -- 75% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock

Meanwhile, Taurochs (without Angered Charge):
-1 252 Atk Choice Band Taurochs Head Smash vs. 252 HP / 240+ Def Landorus-Therian: 180-213 (47.1 - 55.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery
252 Atk Choice Band Taurochs Head Smash vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Celesteela: 246-289 (61.9 - 72.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery
252 Atk Choice Band Taurochs Head Smash vs. 248 HP / 184+ Def Buzzwole: 207-244 (49.6 - 58.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery
252 Atk Choice Band Taurochs Head Smash vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Venusaur-Mega: 216-255 (59.5 - 70.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock

Slate #3: Small Relations
All of these pokemon have 85 base SpA. It's hard to think of slate ideas, okay?

Stantler: This one really needs improvement. Not even listed in the PU viability tiers. Maximum ability rating of 3.5, and 6 movepool additions.

Torkoal: This one already gets a 4.5 rated ability, but it's still bad. Give it Drought if you want, but otherwise maximum ability limit is 3. 4 movepool additions.

Tapu Bulu: This has a lot of potential for an interesting prevo. Will you bring the terrains to LC, or go a different route?

I'm planning on having a 5-person council, so that means 2 more people can join. PM me to apply.

Original Pokemon Name: Stantler
New Pokemon Name: Antlerrein (antler + reindeer)
Evolves by leveling up past level 40 with a Psychic-type Pokemon in the party
Type:

Ability: Intimidate / Enfeeble* / Sap Sipper
Enfeeble* - Intimidate clone that reduces SpA instead of Atk
Stats: 85 / 115 / 77 / 110 / 83 / 100 | BST: 570 (+12 HP, +20 Atk, +15 Def, +25 SpA, +18 SpD, +15 Spe)
Move Additions: Swords Dance, Nasty Plot, Recover, Encore, Hyper Voice, Focus Blast
Competitive Niche (OU): Can go physical, special, or mixed. Intimidate and Enfeeble allow it to play mind games with opponents who don't immediately know which ability it is running. It has access to Z-Hypnosis as well as Swords Dance or Nasty Plot to set up.

Original Pokemon Name: Torkoal
New Pokemon Name: Torkanos (tortoise + volcano)
Evolves by Fire Stone
Type:

Ability: White Smoke / Drought / Earth Shaker*
Earth Shaker* - Ground-type Steelworker clone
Stats: 100 / 100 / 155 / 100 / 85 / 30 | BST: 570 (+30 HP, +15 Atk, +15 Def, +15 SpA, +15 SpD, +10 Spe)
Move Additions: Power Gem, Fire Lash, Thunderbolt, Recover
Competitive Niche (OU): Physically bulky sun setter much like its prevo but it now has Recover and some more attack options.

Original Pokemon Name: Tapu Bulu
New Pokemon Name: Keku Bulu (based on Hawaiian word for child)
Evolves by leveling up while knowing Nature's Madness
Type:

Ability: Grassy Surge / Telepathy
Stats: 50 / 80 / 80 / 45 / 60 / 55 | BST: 370 (-20 HP, -50 Atk, -35 Def, -40 SpA, -35 SpD, -20 Spe)
Move Subtractions: Stone Edge, Wood Hammer, Superpower, Megahorn
Competitive Niche (LC): Still a physical attacker but its strongest options have been removed. It still has Rock Slide, Horn Leech, and Brick Break as weaker alternatives to the removed moves. Keku Bulu is quite bulky as well.

(levelled up with high friendship)
New Pokemon Name: Glarstag (combination of glare and stag)
Type: Normal/Fairy
New Moves: Play Rough, Glare, Moonblast, Agility, Stomping Tantrum
Ability: Intimidate, Antagonise (Berserk clone for attack), Sap Sipper
Stats: 94 / 123 / 80 / 110 / 84 / 109 (600 BST)
Competitive Niche: Glarstag has excellent STAB neutral coverage, only being resisted by Steel type, and with Stomping Tantrum can hit the whole tier neutrally except for Celesteela. It has good speed and can outspeed most bulky Pokemon and unboosted, potent offensive threats such as Tapu Lele and Keldeo. It's outsped by Pokemon with 110 base speed and above but can boost with Agility to even outspeed a standard, boosted Hawlucha. It can also boost its attack through Antagonise by using Substitute, Life Orb recoil, or getting hit when setting up with Agility. It's glaring weakness to physically defensive Steel types stop it from being an overwhelming threat.

+ Level 36 if levelled up in a cave
New Pokemon Name: Torkettle (combination of tortoise and kettle)
Type: Fire/Steel
New Moves: Flash Cannon, Iron Head, Boiler Burst (Steel-type Magma Storm clone), Recover
Ability: White Smoke, Drought, Cast Iron (Solid Rock clone)
Stats: 90 / 86 / 168 / 120 / 98 / 15 (575 BST)
Competitive Niche: While Torkettle is designed to be a more powerful version of VGC '17 Eruption spam Torkoal, it is still viable in OU especially on Trick Room teams. Under Trick Room it has the ability to break through most walls including 2HKO'ing Chansey with Specs Eruption. Outside of Trick Room it can utilise its high defensive stat to wall physical threats with Leftovers and Recover, even avoiding a 2HKO from and offensive Landorus-T.

Evolves into Tapu Bulu when levelled up near an ancient/legendary place (Alolan ruins, Kalos route 10, Relic Castle, Celestial Tower, Mt Coronet, Sky Pillar or Origin Cave, Bell Tower or Whirl Islands, Cerulean Cave)
New Pokemon Name: Bulu (Earns the name Tapu once it becomes a Guardian Deity)
Type: Grass
New Moves: Cannot learn Nature's Madness, Wood Hammer, or Superpower
Ability: Sap Sipper
Stats: 43 / 90 / 71 / 53 / 59 / 46 (362 BST)
Competitive Niche: With Eviolite has enough bulk to avoid taking large amounts of damage from many Pokemon. It has access to some recovery in the form of Horn Leech and Leech Seed. It can also hit quite hard STAB Horn Leech and coverage moves such as Stone Edge and Zen Headbutt against common threats such as Vullaby and Mienfoo. Its slow speed however allows it to be easily revenged by Pokemon such as Gastly and Ponyta.

Evolves by leveling up anywhere that isn't on Earth.
New Pokemon Name: Stantlord
Type:

Ability: Altered Reality* / Compound Eyes / Tinted Lens
Altered Reality - Raises Speed when hit by a Psychic-type attack. Psychic immunity.
Stats: 83 / 105 / 77 / 125 / 80 / 110 | BST: 580 (+10 HP, +10 Atk, +15 Def, +40 SpA, +15 SpD, +25 Spe)
Move Additions: Silent Song*, Focus Blast, Head Charge, Ice Beam, Blizzard, Taunt
Silent Song - A song heard only in the mind of one who stares into Stantlord's antlers. ( Psychic-type Boomburst Clone )
Competitive Niche (OU): A varied special attacker with powerful abilities. Compound Eyes allows it to use Hypnosis, Focus Blast, Thunder, and Blizzard effectively, while Tinted Lens lets it spam Silent Song and possibly Head Charge easily. I could see choice sets on either side with Tinted Lens working as well as Calm Mind or Hypnosis Compound Eyes sets. Altered Reality would make for a niche abuser of enemy Psychic Terrain.
Flavor: The antlers are more elaborate and are covered with eye spots like something out of Pan's Labyrinth. Stantler's pokedex mentions that the antlers can alter reality, hence the custom ability. They also mesmerize those who look at them, which is where the idea of SIlent Song comes from. Stantler is a pseudo Psychic-type in many ways so giving it a Psychic-type move and Psychic immunity makes sense.

Evolves when traded with the item Black Tar.
New Pokemon Name: Torkoil
Type:

Ability: White Smoke / Drought / Shell Armor
Stats: 80 / 105 / 160 / 105 / 80 / 25 | BST: 555 (+10 HP, +20 Atk, +20 Def, +20 SpA, +10 SpD, +5 Spe)
Move Additions: Oil Spray* / Slack Off / Roar
Oil Spray - 90 BP Special Ground-type move, 30% Poison chance ( Sludge Bomb clone )
Competitive Niche (OU): The Hippowdon of Sun and then some. Fire / Ground is very solid defensive typing when Sun is in effect, and Torkoil will be able to switch in, provide or remove hazards, and keep itself healthy. It's also not that easy to switch in to, given a pretty fierce combo of status inducing moves in Lava Plume and Oil Burst. Given such strong physical defense, great support of Sun, hazards and Rapid Spin, and decent offensive presence, the mediocre 80 / 80 special bulk is more than warranted.
Flavor: Both of these evolutions play on the fact that Torkoal's life revolves around eating coal to power its internal furnace. Torkoil eschews coal in favor of a more efficient fuel source: oil. In order to do so it digs deep within the earth, seemingly able to sense the oil deposits down below. Ground is as good a type as any to represent oil, in my opinion, not to mention the digging.

Evolves when traded with the item Glowing Ore.
New Pokemon Name: Toranium
Type:

Ability: Steam Cooler* / Solar Power / Sturdy
Steam Cooler - Powers up Water-type attacks when hit with a Water-type move. Water Immunity ( Flash Fire clone )
Stats: 75 / 95 / 120 / 95 / 75 / 95 | BST: 555 (+5 HP, +10 Atk, -20 Def, +10 SpA, +5 SpD, +75 Spe)
Move Additions: Neutron Blast* / Meltdown* / Surf / Scald
Neutron Blast - 130 BP Special Electric-type move. Lowers user's SpA by two stages. ( Overheat clone )
Meltdown - 250 BP Physical Fire-type move. User Faints ( Explosion clone )

Competitive Niche (OU): Shell Smash sweeper. The custom moves are great if you want to wallbreak or run a Z-move but will also cut your sweep short. The offense stats are low but the speed is enough to potentially outpseed everything at +2; thus you have to choose between wallbreaking and sweeping. This tradeoff is crucial as otherwise Shell Smash runs the risk of being total cancer to play against. It can set up on the likes of Toxapex, Ferrothorn, Pelipper, and Tapu Fini as well as choiced Greninja. You could go for something like Stealth Rock / Shell Smash / Neutron Blast / Meltdown @ Sturdy if you want to do set rocks and then go boom before the enemy can remove them. Shell Smash / Fire Blast / Stone Edge / Surf is a more conservative sweeping set.
Flavor: Toranium digs through mountains searching for edible rocks just like Torkoal, only Toranium consumes uranium ore instead of coal. The chain reaction inside its body forces it to seek out water in order to cool itself down; otherwise it runs the risk of catastrophic overheating. Hence the reason it loses health in Sun ( Solar Power ) and is immune to water ( Steam Cooler ). Once they have eaten enough ore they can last for decades, and so once full they often enter mountain streams and ride them all the way down to the ocean.
