Evolves by leveling up anywhere that isn't on Earth.
New Pokemon Name: Stantlord
Type:
Ability: Altered Reality* / Compound Eyes / Tinted Lens
Altered Reality - Raises Speed when hit by a Psychic-type attack. Psychic immunity.
Stats:
83 / 105 / 77 / 125 / 80 / 110 | BST: 580 (+10 HP, +10 Atk, +15 Def, +40 SpA, +15 SpD, +25 Spe)
Move Additions: Silent Song*, Focus Blast, Head Charge, Ice Beam, Blizzard, Taunt
Silent Song - A song heard only in the mind of one who stares into Stantlord's antlers. ( Psychic-type Boomburst Clone )
Competitive Niche (OU): A varied special attacker with powerful abilities. Compound Eyes allows it to use Hypnosis, Focus Blast, Thunder, and Blizzard effectively, while Tinted Lens lets it spam Silent Song and possibly Head Charge easily. I could see choice sets on either side with Tinted Lens working as well as Calm Mind or Hypnosis Compound Eyes sets. Altered Reality would make for a niche abuser of enemy Psychic Terrain.
Flavor: The antlers are more elaborate and are covered with eye spots like something out of Pan's Labyrinth. Stantler's pokedex mentions that the antlers can alter reality, hence the custom ability. They also mesmerize those who look at them, which is where the idea of SIlent Song comes from. Stantler is a pseudo Psychic-type in many ways so giving it a Psychic-type move and Psychic immunity makes sense.
Evolves when traded with the item Black Tar.
New Pokemon Name: Torkoil
Type:
Ability: White Smoke / Drought / Shell Armor
Stats:
80 / 105 / 160 / 105 / 80 / 25 | BST: 555 (+10 HP, +20 Atk, +20 Def, +20 SpA, +10 SpD, +5 Spe)
Move Additions: Oil Spray* / Slack Off / Roar
Oil Spray - 90 BP Special Ground-type move, 30% Poison chance ( Sludge Bomb clone )
Competitive Niche (OU): The Hippowdon of Sun and then some. Fire / Ground is very solid defensive typing when Sun is in effect, and Torkoil will be able to switch in, provide or remove hazards, and keep itself healthy. It's also not that easy to switch in to, given a pretty fierce combo of status inducing moves in Lava Plume and Oil Burst. Given such strong physical defense, great support of Sun, hazards and Rapid Spin, and decent offensive presence, the mediocre 80 / 80 special bulk is more than warranted.
Flavor: Both of these evolutions play on the fact that Torkoal's life revolves around eating coal to power its internal furnace. Torkoil eschews coal in favor of a more efficient fuel source: oil. In order to do so it digs deep within the earth, seemingly able to sense the oil deposits down below. Ground is as good a type as any to represent oil, in my opinion, not to mention the digging.
Evolves when traded with the item Glowing Ore.
New Pokemon Name: Toranium
Type:
Ability: Steam Cooler* / Solar Power / Sturdy
Steam Cooler - Powers up Water-type attacks when hit with a Water-type move. Water Immunity ( Flash Fire clone )
Stats:
75 / 95 / 120 / 95 / 75 / 95 | BST: 555 (+5 HP, +10 Atk, -20 Def, +10 SpA, +5 SpD, +75 Spe)
Move Additions: Neutron Blast* / Meltdown* / Surf / Scald
Neutron Blast - 130 BP Special Electric-type move. Lowers user's SpA by two stages. ( Overheat clone )
Meltdown - 250 BP Physical Fire-type move. User Faints ( Explosion clone )
Competitive Niche (OU): Shell Smash sweeper. The custom moves are great if you want to wallbreak or run a Z-move but will also cut your sweep short. The offense stats are low but the speed is enough to potentially outpseed everything at +2; thus you have to choose between wallbreaking and sweeping. This tradeoff is crucial as otherwise Shell Smash runs the risk of being total cancer to play against. It can set up on the likes of Toxapex, Ferrothorn, Pelipper, and Tapu Fini as well as choiced Greninja. You could go for something like Stealth Rock / Shell Smash / Neutron Blast / Meltdown @ Sturdy if you want to do set rocks and then go boom before the enemy can remove them. Shell Smash / Fire Blast / Stone Edge / Surf is a more conservative sweeping set.
Flavor: Toranium digs through mountains searching for edible rocks just like Torkoal, only Toranium consumes uranium ore instead of coal. The chain reaction inside its body forces it to seek out water in order to cool itself down; otherwise it runs the risk of catastrophic overheating. Hence the reason it loses health in Sun ( Solar Power ) and is immune to water ( Steam Cooler ). Once they have eaten enough ore they can last for decades, and so once full they often enter mountain streams and ride them all the way down to the ocean.
