[SET COMMENTS]
Set Description
========

  • Earthquake is Excadrill's strongest STAB option and with the aid of Mold Breaker, allows Excadrill to OHKO Rotom-H and Rotom-W.
  • Iron Head is a solid spammable stab move, hitting many Ground-resistant pokemon such as Mandibuzz and Hydreigon for solid damage once boosted, while also hitting Fairy-types such as Clefable, Sylveon, and Hatterene harder than Earthquake.
  • Rapid Spin enables Excadrill to outspeed faster threats such as Dragapult and Choice Scarf Rotom-A while also having the added utility of clearing hazards.
  • Maximum Speed investment in tandem with a Jolly nature is crucial, as it enables Excadrill to outspeed everything up to Rotom-A.
  • Leftovers grants Excadrill passive recovery, allowing it to switch into weaker resisted from Clefable and Sylveon more consistently.

Usage Tips
========

  • Excadrill is able to
  • Remove or severely weaken Corviknight before attempting to do anything
  • Try to SD before spinning, even if there is something faster in the back that can annoy you like pult or scarf rotom-a.
  • Bring it in through slow volt switches or aggressive doubles

Team Options
========

  • Stuff that's able to pressure corviknight consistently: Hydreigon, Dragapult, Rotom-A, Sigilyph, LO Clefable.
  • Stuff that's also able to give it free turns: Dragapult, Rotom-A, Corviknight, Mandibuzz.
  • MANDI.

evs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
Set Description
========

  • Excadrill is a fantastic Stealth Rock setter for offensive builds, as it is able to immediately set them versus Hatterene.
  • Rapid Spin enables Excadrill to keep hazards off of the field; this is especially important as Excadrill is typically the only form of hazard removal that can fit onto hyper-offensive builds.
  • Earthquake allows Excadrill to deal with Aegislash and Cinderace, which are very threatening versus offensive builds.
  • Steel Beam prevents threats such as Corviknight and Mandibuzz from removing hazards.

Usage Tips
========

  • Leading is a good trick

Team Options
========

  • This variant of Excadrill should only be used on offensive teams.
  • Grimmsnarl
  • Ribombee
  • Big breakers.

[SET]
name: Sand Rush Sweeper
move 1: Swords Dance
move 2: Earthquake
move 3: Iron Head
move 4: Rock Slide
item: Life Orb
ability: Mold Breaker
nature: Jolly
evs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
Set Description
========

  • Leftovers + Spin, but no rock slide means you're never getting past stuff like corvi heater.

Usage Tips
========

  • As Excadrill is generally used as a late game cleaner, try to have its checks such as Corviknight, Komm-o, Conkeldurr, and Dugtrio removed. Duggy in particular since traps are gay.
  • Try to SD up asap.
Team Options
========

  • Sand setters in Tyranitar and Hippowdon; both gets rocks and sand up while bringing different niches. Hippowdon can viably run smooth rock which is pretty cool while Tyranitar can offensively pressure stuff but is also Duggy weak.
  • Ghosts, particularly Dragapult and Aegislash: both wear down each other's checks. Dragapult gives Excadrill free turns too.
  • Miscellaneous Fat: Toxapex, Mandibuzz, Corviknight, Clefable, etc. likes the defensive utility; Clef gives it wish.
  • Stuff that pressure corvi: LO Clefable, Sigilyph, Rotom-Heat, all work. Basically anything as long as they don't mind being chipped by sand.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

  • SpDef; limited application, only really used alongside Mandibuzz on fatter teams
  • Substitute; I'll try spinning, that's a good trick!
  • Soft Sand on Sand Rush sets.
  • Stealth Rock on offensive sets,

Checks and Counters
===================

**Corviknight** Excadrill can do nothing to it since it blocks stabs and can easily PP stall it. If it runs Body Press it's a problem but Sand Rush can easily wear it down and gradually break past it if it's not press.

**Ground-types** Seismitoad, Hippowdon all beat it 1v1 and Duggy traps it.

**Ground-Immunes** Rotom-M, Mandibuzz, and,Hydreigon can all take a hit and revenge it in return. Rotom-H can beat it if it's sand rush.

**Water-Types** Mold Breaker variants are unable to touch gyarados pelipper while sand rush is walled by Rotom-W. Crawdaunt always blocks it with Aqua Jet and scarf dracovish + ludicolo outspeed it in the rain.
