This team is as simple as "I wanted to use things with explosion, and maybe do well with them". So I made a team that does just that. Hyper offense isn't exactly my style, but it works fairly with this idea. I mean how else would use an explosion team? I slapped some shit together, did some trial and error, and came up with a team that does well enough for me to be content. And yes, this team is more of a fun team, but it still wins plenty of games. I only got to about 1500 on the ladder with it, and I even won a UU room tour. it's money af, and you'll have fun using it.

Hyper offense lead of choice. Imo better than Froslass. Probably not as good as Mamo, BUT it gets explosion, and that's all we're concerned with. It does what it needs to do sometimes maybe.

This was honestly what the team was centered around. I wanted to Custap Self-Destruct Lax, so god dammit I did. I thought I was pretty clever thinking of this, not that I thought I was the first to do so, just that I would be using it now, but apparently some other people have used recently? Believe I was told Sam and one of the other notable UU members have used it. Eh?

No-brainer. Can sweep unprepared teams. Uses explosion. The set is probably a little non-optimal as you will see, but it's a fucking explosion team soooo who cares?

At this point I was like fuck it, I'm completely walled by steel types, so let's do absolutely nothing to fix that. Specs Florges. Hits like a truck, can take some hits. ez.

Still nothing for steels. Always loved M. Glalie, needed something to ohko Mence, use Xxplosion, and be an overall badass.

Finally we have something for steels. I had originally made this a scarfed Porygon 2, but nothing for steels. Then I switched it to Mienshao, but missed almost every HJK I went for, and decided that it was not the mon for me. Nape is faster than Mienshao, a problem I was having, is the Fighting coverage I needed, and came with the benefit of Fire coverage as well as priority. ez decision.

The Sets

482.gif

Azelf @ Focus Sash
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Taunt
- Knock Off
- Explosion

Dedicated lead is dedicated lead. I never lead with anything else. The set is standard, and its effectiveness is, like most mons, dependent upon your opponents team. Stealth rocks are obviously important, because you don't have time to deal with sashes, and it generally helps wear things down. Best case scenario is that you get to taunt, set up rocks, knock something off, and then explode, but honestly that rarely happens lol. Unfavorable match-ups are Mamoswine, Aerodactyl, Whimsicott, and opposing Azelf (this usually comes down to speed ties). You can look at your opponents team and decide if rocks or killing a mon with explosion is more important.

143.gif

Snorlax @ Custap Berry
Ability: Gluttony
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Power-Up Punch
- Return
- Self-Destruct

I absolutely adore this set. EQ is obviously for Doublade and Chandelure. Power-Up Punch is for racking up boosts and then using your priority Self-Destruct to nuke something. Motherfucker's like a 24 kill streak. While he is great for nuking shit, he also works well as a last ditch effort. Lax takes a +1 stone edge from M. Aerodactyl and can kill with PUP + Self-Destruct. Can also take a +1 Outrage from Salamence and do the same deal. At full Lax can take a CC from Cobalion and kill with two EQs. Just a solid mon that can take a lot of shit and fire back with a crazy power move.

+1 248+ Atk Mega Aerodactyl Stone Edge vs. 248 HP / 0 Def Snorlax: 391-462 (74.7 - 88.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

+1 252 Atk Salamence Outrage vs. 248 HP / 0 Def Snorlax: 429-505 (82 - 96.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

252 Atk Cobalion Close Combat vs. 248 HP / 0 Def Snorlax: 434-512 (82.9 - 97.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

091.gif

Cloyster @ Normal Gem
Ability: Skill Link
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Shell Smash
- Explosion
- Icicle Spear
- Hydro Pump

So yes, I'm aware that this does not have a Focus Sash, but hey I like powerful explosions. This mon is pretty self explanatory, but I'm supposed to have descriptions so hey let's do it. Notable things: Has a very small chance to kill Cobalion with +2 Hydro Pump after Rocks. Always takes a SE from Jolly M. Aerodactyl from full and get off a shell smash. Can kill Spdef Emoleon with +2 Explosion after Rocks.

+2 4 SpA Cloyster Hydro Pump vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Cobalion: 271-321 (83.6 - 99%) -- 12.5% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock

248 Atk Mega Aerodactyl Stone Edge vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Cloyster: 204-240 (84.6 - 99.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

+2 252 Atk Normal Gem Cloyster Explosion vs. 248 HP / 8 Def Empoleon: 314-369 (84.6 - 99.4%) -- 37.5% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock

671.gif

Florges @ Choice Specs
Ability: Flower Veil
EVs: 120 HP / 252 SpA / 8 SpD / 128 Spe
Modest Nature
- Moonblast
- Energy Ball
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Psychic

I have been destroyed by Specs Florges a time too many, and decided to use it myself. Possibly one of my favorite things on this team. Just wish it got Explosion. Specs Moonblast is incredibly powerful, and Psychic lets it hit Crobat, Amoongus, Roserade, and Tentacruel. More often that not, if they are not bulky enough to kill you with two moves, they just die. The speed EV's are to outspeed Suicune with little Speed investment. Notable happens and such: Great chance to take an Iron Head from Cobalion and a good chance to straight kill with Moonblast. More often than not, they will just SR or SD and die lol. Can take any one hit from Lucario, save Iron Tail, and kill it back.

252 Atk Cobalion Iron Head vs. 120 HP / 0 Def Florges: 282-332 (86.2 - 101.5%) -- 6.3% chance to OHKO

252+ SpA Choice Specs Florges Moonblast vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Cobalion: 301-355 (92.9 - 109.5%) -- 75% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock

252+ SpA Choice Specs Florges Moonblast vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Lucario: 306-361 (108.8 - 128.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO

glalie-mega.gif

Glalie-Mega @ Glalitite
Ability: Refrigerate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Naughty Nature
- Explosion
- Ice Shard
- Double-Edge
- Shadow Ball

This thing is a god damn powerhouse with an explosion that kills almost anything. Lucario is a decent check to Salamence; Ice shard OHKOs. The move set is almost self explanatory, until we get to shadow ball. Shadow ball is for Doublade. Doublade is a great switch into this no matter what it carries, and shadow ball can 2HKO. If you're lucky enough to knock off Doublade's Eviolite with Azelf it OHKOs. Also catches surprise Shedinja. Fuck you DMT.

4 SpA Mega Glalie Shadow Ball vs. 240 HP / 16 SpD Eviolite Doublade: 154-182 (48.2 - 57%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock
392.gif

Infernape @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- Flare Blitz
- U-turn
- Mach Punch / Stone Edge

Basically I needed something to hit Steel types. This is all this is here for. Mach Punch is for Sharpedo and Cloyster allegedly. As I write this I think to myself "Why not Stone Edge". That's a good question, Me, but no further questions. Switch this set up I don't really care. Maybe make it special?

Protect
Damp Swampert (people actually do this I swear to god)
Scarf Chandelure (sp00k af)
M. Aggron (fat af)

Suggest some ways to change it I guess. Probably not gonna change it lol. Shout outs to DMT for being a cunt, iplaytennislol for being a Kike, and Colbrushie for being a nice guy.

Can you believe there are still assholes not putting Importables in their RMTs?

sik team m8.

almost unable to improve this godsquad, but there's 1 thing I'd change tho which is the Cloyster set. try Life Orb over Normal Gem, and a little bit more SpA to ohko shit like Cobalion and other mons that normally wall Cloyster. this gives you a change to use Cloyster for something else other than boom and make your other atks powerful as shit too.

Cloyster @ Life Orb
Ability: Skill Link
EVs: 220 Atk / 36 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Shell Smash
- Icicle Spear
- Hydro Pump
- Explosion

Ok, Before I ragequit since Infernape and Florges doesn't Learn Explosion, I Recommend slashing Overheat with Flare blitz, just to help OHKO the fat AF Mega Aggron. Also, On the subject of Infernape Try running a Life orb set, because if you're running priority, you shouldn't need all that much speed, also it allows you to stay in on plus two cloyster after it's gotten the shell smash off. Set Details are below.

Infernape @ Life Orb
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 160 Atk / 96 SpA / 252 Spe
Rash Nature
- Close Combat
- Overheat/Flare Blitz
- U-turn
- Mach Punch/Stone Edge
- Explosion
The Point Of This Set is to Nuke a pokemon with Overheat, [Forretress, Cloyster, Mega Aggron] then take them out with mach punch if they survive by any means. Not only does it help your troubles against steel types, it demolishes most Mega Aggron builds. If you're having trouble with bulk, that means you expect too much from Infernape.

96+ SpA Life Orb Infernape Overheat vs. 252 HP / 120 SpD Filter Mega Aggron: 357-421 (103.7 - 122.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO

This change is mostly a nitpick, But I'd reccomend using Hidden Power [Ground] > Hidden power [Fire] on Florges because it helps you fare better against fire type, Poison and Steel Type switchins, because all three types can take out a weakened florges.
[Although if running psychic, use that again poison, unless it's Skuntank/Drapion]

But other than Infernape and Hidden Power [Fire], This should be an overall decent team that might do great in the UU metagame.

[Not changing the Explosion squad because they seem fine to me.]

k so couple suggestions that tbh i'm just throwing out there without too much thot.
lead azelf you could swap knockoff for fireblast, just to get rid of stuff that's annoying like doublade coba mega aggron etc. it's obviously a toss up, and each one is situationally advantagous, but idk seems like maybe it'd be nice to get rid of steels.

also i agree with the 9 different people who said make it LO cloy.

also maybe double edge lax to be even stronger and also get yourself into custap range faster.

im gunna have to actually use the team at some point but i figured i'd write a bunch of uninformed advice

I switched taunt out for fire blast. Working pretty well

I'm gonna not use life orb or double edge respectively because I find more often than not, I'm barely living with Cloyster before sweeps or taking a few things out, and lax, from almost all the games I've used him in, is also barely living and I like having that. I feel like the extra damage both would be taking would only harm whats working really well already.
