Falinks is one of the PU tier's premier Fighting-type pokemon and one of the tier's best physical wallbreakers thanks to its good Attack and decent Speed tier. First Impression is strong priority that allows Falinks to be a good revenge killer and threaten faster pokemon such as Galarian Mr. Mime, Swoobat and Lilligant, which are able to beat it otherwise. Close Combat is your strongest STAB and threatens pokemon such as Pawniard and Klinklang. Throat Chop is necessary to hit Ghost-type Pokemon such as Gourgeist formes and Dusknoir which can switch into your STAB. Megahorn is the last move to hit bulky Psychic-type pokemon such as Beheeyem and also to hit Tangela. Zen Headbutt is optional to 2hko physically defensive Mareanie and

Falinks appreciates offensive teammates that are able to deal with physical walls like Mareanie, Tangela or Gourgeist-XL. Manectric is a good partner, as it is able to threaten the aforementioned walls with super-effective damage and Falinks appreciates it handling Mareanie if it lacks Zen Headbutt. In return, Falinks beats Type: Null and Lickilicky, which have no problem walling Manectric. Defensively, Falinks likes pokemon like Stunfisk who is able to tank Flying-type attacks from Unfezant and also appreciates the hazards Stunfisk provide so it has an easier time breaking down opposing pokemon. In addition, Falinks handles the Ice-types that threaten Stunfisk like Silvally-Ice and Mr. Rime.

No Retreat Falinks is a sweeping Falinks set which boosts all of its stats by one stage, allowing it to sweep late-game and wallbreak efficiently. Lum Berry prevents crippling status like Will-o-Wisp from Gourgeist-XL and Nuzzle from Hattrem which stops Falinks from carrying out its role. In addition, Shed Shell is an item that allows Falinks to switch out after using No Retreat, so it can come in later on a pokemon it can set up on like Pawniard.

Because No Retreat focuses on sweeping, Falinks pairs well with teammates that are able to break through opposing defensive pokemon. Dusknoir is a good example, it is able to deal with bulky Psychic-types such as Musharna and Hattrem, especially when it opts for Zen Headbutt over Megahorn. No Retreat also works well on hazard stacking teams and entry hazard setters like Crustle and Roselia appreciate Falinks' ability to prevent Defog via Defiant. In return, Falinks has an easier time sweeping late-game. Falinks is still outsped by Choice Scarf Unfezant and still appreciates good Flying-type checks such as Klinklang and Silvally-Rock which are able to handle it and works really well in conjunction with Shed Shell so Falinks can bring them in.

[SET COMMENTS]
Unlike the No Retreat set, Swords Dance enables Falinks to bypass checks such as Dusknoir, Musharna or Mareanie with much less difficulty and threaten a good amount of the metagame after a boost. Adamant is less preferred than Jolly but Falinks is able to secure certain KOs against defensive pokemon while utilising Life Orb such as beating Tangela with Megahorn after Stealth Rock damage and also OHKOing Stunfisk after rocks with Close Combat. However, Jolly allows Falinks to outspeed and secure KOs on a good amount of the meta like specially defensive Klinklang, Drednaw, Mr. Rime, and Ludicolo so Jolly is preferred.

Once again, entry hazards are key to maximizing Falinks' wallbreaking potential. Mawile and Stunfisk offer Stealth Rock support as well as a Flying-type resistance to handle Unfezant, which plagues Falinks. Volt-turn support is also very useful for Falinks and partners like Teleport Beheeyem and specially defensive Klinklang work well. Both act as a Psychic-type resist for Falinks and both offer slow momentum so Falinks gets in safely into a pokemon it can set up Swords Dance on, such as Lickilicky or Type: Null. Type: Null also works as a great pivot, with great special defense to handle pokemon like Golduck and Galarian Mr. Mime and cripples other defensive walls like Tangela using Toxic.

Mime, Meowstic and Lilligant, which are able to beat it otherwise Maybe some note that Meowstic can potentially be running protect, or switch it out for some just frail since protect is more common really. Close Combat is your strongest STAB and threatens pokemon such as Pawniard and Klinklang. Throat Chop is necessary to hit Ghost-type Pokemon such as Gourgeist formes and Dusknoir which can switch into your STAB. Megahorn is the last move to hit bulky Psychic-type pokemon such as Musharna and also to hit Tangela Musharna isn't too relevant, perhaps like Beheeyem or hitting apple/Hattrem for more damage. Zen Headbutt is optional to 2hko physically defensive Mareanie. Comment somewhere how Throat Chop can still hit the bulky psychics when running Zen over Megahorn imo.

Falinks appreciates offensive teammates that are able to deal with physical walls like Mareanie and Gourgeist-XL maybe include Tangela here since LO Megahorn is still a 3hko. Manectric is a good partner, as it is able to threaten the aforementioned walls with super-effective damage and Falinks appreciates it handling Mareanie if it lacks Zen Headbutt. In return, Falinks beats Type: Null and Lickilicky, which have no problem walling Manectric can probably include a couple other special attackers. Defensively, Falinks likes pokemon like Stunfisk who is able to tank Flying-type attacks from Unfezant and also appreciates the hazards Stunfisk provide so it has an easier time breaking down opposing pokemon. In addition, Falinks handles the Ice-types that threaten Stunfisk like Glaceon and Mr. Rime Mr. Mime-Galar or Silvally-Ice are probs more relevant examples to have over Glaceon. With Defiant Falinks can often find itself on spike stack teams and should have some spikers mentioned imo even if it's AoA ie Rose appreciates First Impression hitting the psychics compared to other spikers.

No Retreat Falinks is a sweeping Falinks set which boosts all of its stats by one stage, allowing it to sweep late-game and wallbreak efficiently. Maybe clarify on this a bit since you can't really wallbreak with no retreat since you're stuck unless you're running shed shell. Lum Berry prevents crippling status like Will-o-Wisp from Gourgeist-XL and Thunder Wave from Hattrem Hattrem runs nuzzle which stops Falinks from carrying out its role. In addition, Shed Shell is an item that allows Falinks to switch out after using No Retreat, so it can come in later on a pokemon it can set up on like Pawniard kinda already said this but the pros to using shed shell could be better like, why did you set up on something other than Pawniard in the first place if unable to sweep.

Because No Retreat focuses on sweeping, Falinks pairs well with teammates that are able to break through opposing defensive pokemon. Dusknoir is a good example, it is able to deal with bulky Psychic-types such as Musharna and Hattrem, especially when it opts for Zen Headbutt over Megahorn this needs to be clarified that it's falinks, plus might want to use like a Gourgeist example since timeless Musharna can really mess w/ Dusknoir. No Retreat also works well on hazard stacking teams and entry hazard setters like Crustle and Roselia appreciate Falinks' ability to prevent Defog via Defiant deter not prevent really. In return, Falinks has an easier time sweeping late-game example of Pokemon that hazard chip is needed for could be nice. Falinks is still outsped by +1 Unfezant Can just say Choice Scarf and still appreciates good Flying-type checks such as Klinklang and Silvally-Rock which are able to handle it and works really well in conjunction with Shed Shell so Falinks can bring them in. What some things are that Falinks can set up on with the no retreat bulk should be mentioned imo. And a mention of stuff that beats Mareanie is more important here than with AoA imo since No Retreat missing a kill and getting hazed is rough. There should also be a mention of Choice Scarf Golduck and Lycanroc that can hit Falinks super effectively and revenge kill it imo.

Examples of other physical attackers that can go with Falinks softening up their answers would be nice too.

Many months later this is no longer viable and we won't be keeping the analysis around. This is probably not surprising.
