Featherdanced and Captivated.

So I had an idea for a Staraptor lead that is original, but conceptual:

Staraptor@Lum Berry/BlackGlasses
Gender: Female
Nature: Jolly
Ability: Intimidate
EV: 252 ATT / 252 SPEED / 6 HP
>Featherdance
>Captivate
>Pursuit
>U-Turn

The point is to force a switch by lowering Attack/Sp Attack and Pursuit away. Intimidate even adds more negative effects. Lum Berry for status inducer leads. As long as Staraptor is faster, the special sweepers are male, or the opponent is not using a pokemon with Clear Body/White Smoke ability, it seems like it could work well.

Give me some feedback on what you think of this idea.

Most of the things I can think of that would take big damage from Pursuit would be switching out ANYWAY, or be faster than you and could OHKO you (Starmie, Azelf, etc).

Both Stamie and Azelf is genderless and wouldn't be affected by captive anyway.. I think

Metagross completely nullifies this strategy, being immune to stat-down moves and having no gender to use Captivate on, as well as having Pursuit access, and can quite happily set up on you. It's a very situational strategy here, which depends solely on the opponents passive abilities (gender and ability) matching to your needs. In short, you can't rely on it to work a lot of the time, so it would be best to try something with a much better success rate

A friend of mine used Captivate, Featherdance and Tailwind Pidgeot (paired with LightningRod Marowak) in 2vs2 with quite a lot of success. 2vs2 is a lot different from 1vs1 though.

That Staraptor is:

Staraptor @Leftovers
EVs: 228 HP/240 DEF/40 SPD
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
Ability: Intimidate

~ Featherdance
~ Roost
~ Brave Bird/Aerial Ace
~ U-Turn

Totally different EV spread, item, and only two of the same moves. I wouldn't exactly call it a carbon copy. Just saying it's not the same at all. This proposed set isn't bulky.

Pursuit on switching out is 80 base power. STAB Return is 153. STAB Aerial Ace is 90. Neither have drawbacks. I don't see why you want to Pursuit them so badly. Just make them useless enough for you to force switches with your -2 Atk moves to use Stealth Rock and friends while hammering away with respectable attacking moves.
