- Ferroseed is a respectable Spikes setter which carves itself a niche through its fantastic matchup against Blastoise.
- Ferroseed's unique typing enables it to use many common defensive Pokemon such as Vileplume, Vaporeon, Seismitoad, Palossand, and Audino-Mega as Spikes fodder.
- Ferroseed also has unique support move options, including Knock Off and Thunder Wave, which makes it annoying to switch-into for many offensive Pokemon without being crippled.
- Unfortunately, it is incredibly reliant on Eviolite for its bulk, and lacks recovery outside of the unreliable Leech Seed.
- Moreover, Ferroseed is a liability against the omnipresent Xatu, as Magic Bounce prevents it from setting up Spikes or healing with Leech Seed.
