With its good defensive typing, bulk, and utility options, Ferrothorn is a staple on Grass teams as a defensive wall. Its Steel typing grants it Ice, Bug, and Flying neutralities as well as a Poison immunity, four types Grass teams are typically weak to, as well as a plethora of resistances, allowing it to check many Pokemon across the board while staying healthy with Leech Seed and setting hazards. Protect should be used in order to scout against Choice-locked Pokemon such as Dragapult and Galarian Darmanitan; additionally, it helps with gaining more Leftovers recovery and racking up damage and healing with Leech Seed if used together. Spikes can be dropped if the team includes another Spikes setter such as Roserade, though it is not recommended, as Grass teams appreciate the hazard stack. Generally, Ferrothorn should look for opportunities to come in using its good typing and bulk and start stacking hazards or using Leech Seed to wear the opposing team down. Iron Head can be used over Gyro Ball to hit Hatterene, and if it is used, it should be used with an Impish nature. Maximum investments in HP and Defense along with a Relaxed nature ensure that Ferrothorn takes on Pokemon such as Galarian Darmanitan, Excadrill, and Weavile better, with a Relaxed nature also increasing the power of Gyro Ball.

Appletun is an amazing partner for Ferrothorn because of its Dragon typing along with Thick Fat, allowing it to serve as a Fire-resistant Pokemon and covering one of Ferrothorn's key weaknesses. Together, the core can scout and beat common Choice-locked Pokemon such as Galarian Darmanitan, Indeedee, and Dragapult by using Protect to play around them. Leech Seed users such as the aforementioned Appletun, Whimsicott, and Ludicolo take advantage of Ferrothorn's hazards in order to force switches and rack up damage and can support Ferrothorn if it is not running Leech Seed. Whimsicott can also beat Fighting-type Pokemon such as Kommo-o and Hawlucha that threaten Ferrothorn with Moonblast. Offensive Pokemon such as Choice Scarf Rillaboom and Rotom-C make good partners for Ferrothorn, as they can outspeed Pokemon that threaten Ferrothorn such as Dragapult and Togekiss and use pivoting moves such as U-turn and Volt Switch respectively to bring Ferrothorn in. Rotom-C is generally good for threatening Flying-type Pokemon such as Corviknight and Choice Specs Pelipper that Ferrothorn dislikes dealing with. Ferrothorn's hazards can also support said offensive Pokemon by wearing down the opposing team. Roserade forms a hazard stacking core with Ferrothorn and can run Spikes to free up one of its moveslots.

I would remove the Protect slash on Stealth Rock and just keep it on Spikes and Leech Seed.

Mention that Ferrothorn's typing also gives Grass a Poison immunity and a Bug neutrality.

Whimsicott covers Ferrothorn's Fighting weakness. Also point out that Rotom-C threatens Flying-types in general, notably Corviknight, not just Togekiss.
