Fire and Water

A Fire/Water Dual type team!

So, somethings before you start breaking the team down. This team has to have the following requirements:
3 Fire Pokemon
3 Water Pokemon
The 3 Fire pokemon have to look well, "firey", and the water pokemon have to look sorta Blue and "watery". Part of the theme.

Now that were done with that, lets get down to the actuall team:

@ Focus Sash
24 Atk / 252 SpA / 232 Spe
Naive

~Close Combat
~Flamethrower
~Grass Knot
~Nasty Plot

My lead. Plots, then proceeds to rape most of the popular leads. (Gyrados, TTar, etc). Lonley gives Close Combat an extra kick, while i don't need one with Nasty Plot.
--------------
dpmba121.png
@ Leftovers
172 HP / 120 SpA / 216 Spe
Timid

~Thunder Bolt
~Rapid Spin
~Recover
~Surf

Spinner. Uses Recover to stay alive, and spins away those Stealth Rocks that Infernape and Moltres fear so much.
-----------------

@ Leftovers
148 HP / 176 Def / 184 Speed
Adamant

~Dragon Dance
~Stone Edge
~Waterfall
~Taunt

Bulkydos, uses it's type coverage and DD to wall/maim other pokemon. He has a certain synergy that will be explained later.
---------------

dpmba260.png
@ Leftovers
56 Atk/240 HP / 216 Def
Impish

~Avalanche
~Stone Edge
~Stealth Rock
~Earthquake

Mixpert, with Stone Edge>Waterfall since Water is covered by Starmie.

@ Leftovers
252 HP/190 Def/70 SpA
Bold

~Earth Power
~Lava Plume
~Rest
~Sleep Talk

A wallish type of Heatran. A suicune with Earth Power and Lava Plume over Surf and Ice Beam, and with less defenses. But Suicune never got STAB on both his attacks, did he? This is my own build, FYI.
-----------------

dpmba146.png
@ Life Orb
6 HP/252 SpA/252 Spe
Timid

~Overheat
~Roost
~Air Slash
~U-Turn

Has 2 STAB attacks, and hits hard with either. Roost sucks away Life Orb damage.

Ok, so I mentioned some combos that might work. Well, here they are:

Packing 3 Fire types will attract a lot of Surfs and Earthquakes. My water types can switch into Surf, namely Gyrados, who Dances on the switch. Gyrados attracts T-Bolts, which is when I switch to Swampert, who can lay down SR on the switch. Earthquakes can be countered with Moltres and Gyrados, the former of which can Roost and avoid Thunderbolts as well. A Suicune that tries to wall me will be swiftly met by a Grass Knot or a Taunt.

So rate away!

This looks pretty well rounded, but I am looking at a couple things. First, infernape rarely can get a nasty plot off with no sash support, if you can, run HP Ice over the NP. It will come in handy for countering those dragons that love to Dragon Dance and Swords Dance to ruin your day. If you feel starmie is good enough, run a focus sash, because you are going to have trouble getting a NP in.

Gyrados likes his STAB, and the here and now flinch is always nice. I have had the best success with waterfall and stone edge, and gyrados doesn't really need an Ice Attack unless it isn't bulky.

Nice ideas :D.

This team idea is SEX. It's great, seriously. Change your infernape set, he doesn't need lonely nature or a sash.

For Gyarados, try these EVs and see if you like 'em 148 HP / 176 Def / 184 Speed. You keep the bulk, and get a little more speed to pick off weakened starmies. I would also replace Earthquake with either Return or Stone-Edge for coverage.

Gyrados is either run with
Waterfall and Stone Edge or
Ice Fang and Earthquake.

Otherwise, you get a lot less coverage. For example, with your Gyra set, Salamence will easily set up.

It looks really solid really. Might as well go Impish and put those Satk evs into Sdef on Pert, because it has no Satks.

Oops, those were supposed to be in Attack. Changes are up. Lol, first time I made a solid team on my first try!

The only real thing I have to say besides the fact that this is way better than Fire/Ice is that you are really going to be careful about Electric users once Swampert goes down.

Sorry for the lack of specification. I meant Ice Punch > Avalanche on Pert. Heatran is royally screwed if it is trapped and HP Ground-ed by Magnezone.

I don't like Infernape as a lead. It will inevitably lose to Gengar and Gyarados, the top leads right now. Sure, Gyarados will eat a NP Grass Knot, but without a Life Orb it won't come close to KOing him. I'm also pretty sure Blissey will escape your judgement without the Life Orb as well. Gyarados could Waterfall first turn, DD the next, and then be primed for a sweep. (my gyarados hits 351 speed after one DD :P )

I see you have a lot of Gyarados counters, but wasting Infernape like that just doesn't seem worth it.

Ice Punch on Pert would be good, but I don't own a copy of Emerald, and I don't have a trade thread yet... So lets stick with what I can get atm. Infernape does reasonably well as a lead, maybe I should put Thunderpunch on him to deal with Gyra leads?
