here is my first pokemon team. I've only battled with it against a few of my friends. they don't do any breeding though so winning isn't very satisfying or informational.
Dragonite - Lonely - Inner Focus - Life Orb
EVs: 252 Atk / 126 Sp Def / 126 Def
Dragon Dance
Superpower
Dragon Claw
Extreme Speed
I lead with Dragonite, Bulky Defenses, Huge attack, and Extreme Speed allow him to bust through a ton of common lead pokemon. First turn i DD or switch out if i see a ice or dragon attack coming. after that Dragonite can attempt to sweep until dead or put into a clear switch out (aka: ice shard). The Evs are setup to make Dragonite as durable as possible while still maxing out his attack stat. i didnt think much of putting any into speed due to his already fairly pedestrian speed stat as well as the fact that he dragon dances and has extreme speed.
Umbreon - Careful - Synchronize - Leftovers
252 Hp / 92 Spec Def / 164 Speed
Meanlook
Wish
Baton Pass
Taunt
This set should let me trap things and then baton pass to something that can either kill it or set up on it, then kill it. also he gives wish support. Umbreon also balances the weaknesses of my team out as Probopass's 2 x4 weaknesses proved to be his downfall.
Starmie - Modest - Natural Cure - Expert Belt
EVs: 4 Hp / 252 Sp Atk / 252 Speed
Surf
Psychic
Ice Beam
Thunderbolt
Revenge killer / Special Sweeper. Starmie has good speed, spec. attack, and type coverage which makes him pretty good at revenge killing. i gave him a set that lets me be super effective against as many things as possible (9 of the 17 types) getting the most out of the expert belt and giving neutral damage against every type.
Jolteon
4 Def / 252 Spec Atk / 252 Speed
Charge Beam
Thunderbolt
Shadow Ball
Hidden Power (Grass)
Boost Sweeper. Jolteon will often find its way out by switching into electric type attacks aimed at starmie. his role is to grab boosts with charge beam and sweep. a pretty basic concept. Hidden power grass is to counter ground types, especially swampert. Evs are set up to make him as fast and brutal as possible.
Lucario - Adamant - inner Focus - Life Orb
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Speed
Swords Dance
Extreme Speed
Close Combat
Ice Punch
Late game physical sweeper. i plan on holding onto Lucario until near the end of the battle when most of his counters should have been defeated already. Bring him in after a death to trigger a switch and then use the free turn to swords dance or if i need to i could switch him into an attack that he resists. either way he does the same thing though, swords dance then sweep.
Gengar - Timid - Levitate - Big Root
4 Hp / 252 Spec Atk / 252 Speed
Giga Drain
Protect
Focus Blast
Shadow Ball
I really like this set for gengar, it lets him counter ground types that he switches into when they attempt to counter jolteon and get a healthy health boost from giga drain + big root. he also can switch in on fighting attacks that lucario might have to deal with. protect allows him to scout potential pursuit users which would otherwise be pretty detrimental to him
As i said before, this is my first competitive team, suggestions appreciated. Thanks :)
