First IV Gen OU Team

I haven't had any kind of competitive team in a while and it was only for my local friends who had a 3rd Gen game. This was the team i had back then and it surved me well and i had a lot of fun using it. Please help me update this team for 4th Gen so i can play on Shoddy Battle. I've tried using this team on there already and i get owned everytime. Thanks for your criticism. :)

Swampert@Leftovers
Torrent
Relaxed nature
Evs:252 hp/252def/4 spe
-Stealth Rock
-Roar

-Ice Beam
-Earthquake
This is my lead, i didn't find SR to be too helpful with local opponents, but since i'll be playing online i'll be changing this moveset around to involve SR, but not sure to keep swampert or replace. I liked having him so bulky so that he could take a good hit and also be able to stay in on the switch. Rest and ST to keep him alive, and IB and EQ for type coverage attacks.

Salamence@Choice Band
Intimidate
Adamant nature
Evs:4HP/252Atk/252Spd
-Outrage
-Dragon Claw

-Earthquake
-Fire Blast
This guy was meant for pure power and revenge killing. A pretty standard CBmence for 3rd gen. I tried to keep his coverage as spread as possible so my opponents had to switch out for a free hit. CB to make him that much stronger.

Kingdra@Leftovers
Swift Swim
Adamant
EVs: 252Atk/252Spe/4SpD
-Dragon Dance
-Substitute
-Outrage
-Waterfall

This was put in here to replace a previous Ludicolo from my 3rd Gen team. I'm not sold on him, so i'm still looking for a solid replacement.

Heatran@Choice Scarf
Rash
EVs: 4 HP / 252 S.Atk / 252 Spe
~Fire Blast
~Earth Power
~HP Grass
~Explosion

This guy replaced my old Blaziken. I'm not sold on him either, so please suggest an alternative!

Gyarados@Life Orb
Intimidate
Adamant nature
Evs:4HP/252Atk/252Spd
-Dragon Dance
-Stone Edge
-Earthquake
-Waterfall
My main back up sweeper, a DDgyara with a status move for when i'm kinda stuck against a powerful sweeper. DD for the setup. Twave to try to stop a setup. EQ and Return for powerful attacks (since Waterfall was Special in 3rd gen).

Metagross@leftovers
Clear Body
Adamant nature
Evs:160HP/252Atk/96Spd
-Agility
-Earthquake
-Meteor Mash
-Thunderpunch
This guy was meant for status absorber while i set up an agility to start sweeping. Agility for on the switch. EQ for the fire types that are bound to switch in. Meteor Mash for a powerful STAB attack when I'm stuck in a corner, and Explosion for a last resort attack against maybe a strong sweeper.

Swampert should be 252 hp/252def/4 spe. Use Ice Beam/EQ/Roar/Stealth Rock

Mence should have the moveset: Outrage/Dragon Claw/EQ/Fire Blast

Use a Kingdra over Ludicolo. @ Damp Rock

Use an Infernape with 64 atk/252 spe naive, with the rest in special attack, over Blaziken, with the moveset Fire Blast/Close Combat/Grass Knot/HP Ice. @ Life Orb.

Obviously, Waterfall and Stone Edge over Twave and Return on Gyara. What the hell is Shed Shell doing on it. Life Orb.

Metagross wants Thunderpunch over Explosion.

So this would be the proposed team? (changes in bold)

sorry for the double post, but i've been testing out the team listed above and i've been having problems with electric types getting to go first and KOing most of my pokes. Starmies are also a problem. So far those are the only problems i'm having.

I think, you need to start reading the StrategyDex to see which pokemon work best. Certain pokemon are now outclassed, and you need to change that up.

The new team is a lot better than the original one, only becuase it has great synergy and type coverage.

If Starmie and electrics are a problem, Heatran >> Infernape is a good solution. ScarfTran makes a very nice revenge killer. Earth power for electrics and HP Grass should work decent for Starmie. I'll have to do a type check.

i've looked through the strategy dex for a while but its hard to know what'll work and what wont without trying it out. I've never used a heatran before but i'll have to try that out.

What Lucien says is true. Yeah, I personally like Ape, but if Starmies are getting to you, definitely go with Heatran over Ape. First off, you don't need more than one Fire type, so that's where you get the replacement. Second, Earth Power is the x-factor here. Sure, Ape can get HP Grass, and even Grass Knot, but you don't have anything on there to take Electrics on, since you're not running Earthquake. Plus, with a Scarf, Heatran is faster than Ape. So yeah, ScarfTran is definitely the way to go. It's pretty bulky, so it can switch into threats, even though as a Revenger you really shouldn't have to, but it's real crown jewel is its base 130 SpA stat. Combined with a Scarf, you've got a really fast, really strong hitter that is sure to dent anything. Just my 2 cents, even though I haven't really suggested anything new lol.

I'm actually considering replacing ScarfTran with a LOGengar/ScarfGar. I've only been able to use Heatran effectively once or twice. Usually he's OHKO'd easily and/or i'm outspeeded. I'm also not liking my Kingdra so i wanna switch that out for something a little more useful. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated :)
