First OU competitive team

Hey people of smogon,

This is my new post as my first was kinda half uber... Anyway here it is feel welcome to leave any helpful tips you have! This team is also a single battle team :D.

Rotom-W @ Choice Scarf | Levitate
Timid | 4HP / 252Sp.atk / 252Spd
Trick / Thunderbolt / Hydro Pump / Hidden Power Ice

Rotom-W is here to first mess up the strategy behind their Pokemon by swapping their item for a choice item. Rotom now has the power to attack most Pokemon with STAB attacks or take out dragon type threats such as Dragonite, Salamance and Garchomp with hidden power.

Infernape @Focus sash | Iron fist
Jolly | 4HP / 252Atk / 252Spd
Thunder Punch / Swords Dance / Close Combat / Flare Blitz

Infernape is the powerhouse of this team. With swords dance in play Infernape become incredibly powerful and allows me to take out most water types with Thunder Punch and hitting hard with a STAB Close Combat or Flare Blitz.

Shuckle @ Chesto Berry | Contrary
Careful | 252HP / 4Def / 252Sp.Def
Stealth Rock / Rest / Shell Smash / Toxic

I'm surprised I have never seen this set before. With Contrary in play Shell smash raises both defensive stats but lowers Atk, Sp.Atk and Spd. Shuckle can take many hits and with 4 Shell Smash's he has too much defence to handle. After spamming Shell Smash shuckle usually has low health so I rest this off and insta wake up. Shuckle now has the all clear to stealth rock and toxic stall the other team out. My only weakness to shuckle is steel type as its super effective and I can't toxic.

Dusclops @Eviolite | Pressure
Sassy | 252HP / 252Sp.Def / 4Def
Trick Room / Night shade / Pain Split / Will-o-Wisp

Dusclop usually is shifted in after shuckle to continue the toxic stall as well as pain split. Dusclops starts with a trick room because of its terrible speed. Will-O-Wisp is as you expect it to do; crumble physical types whilst healing with Pain Split.

Dragonite @ Leftovers | Multiscale
Adamant | 252Atk / 252Spd / 4HP
Dragon Dance / Roost / Outrage / Earthquake

Dragon Dance is the main move of this set. It sets up Outrage and Earthquake to tear through the other team. Even against a powerful ice type move Dragonite can survive with multiscale and easily just roost back up.

Alakazam @ Life Orb | Magic Guard
Timid | 252Sp.Atk / 252Spd / 4HP
Psychic / Shadow Ball / Focus Blast / hidden power ice

Alakazam fits into this team quite nicely. What ever Rotom-W doesn't cover Alakazam can cover. Alakazam hits strength built physical Pokemon such as tyranitar and conkeldur hard with psychic and focus blast as well as all out attacking Sp.atk Pokemon such as gengar and espion with shadow ball.

This is my team in a nutshell; I hope you guys can help me out where I can improve. Even little comments are fine; every change helps. Thanks people of smogon :D.

Hey I'm kind of a fan of your team. If you ever post another RMT in the future try to make it look a bit more stylish. At least pictures of your pokemon. No body likes looking at words without pictures (opinion).
This is to your....

Hyper Offensive Stall Team

Quick Analysis of Your Team:
It looks like you want to eliminate all steal and posion types quickly as possible using Infernape, making him your primary pokemon.

You said you have Rotom-W
479-wash.png
on back up.

With Dragonite I believe you could replace him with MixMence or a Scarf Mence (with either Intimidate or Moxie or you could give him a Lum Berry / Life Orb) It really depends on you, but I see no faults with your Dragonite. Mence can strike harder and faster than Dragonite (but isn't able to take as many hits as D-nite.)

I only have one true complaint.
Dusclops He seems to serve no purpose on your team beyond Will-o-wisp. I do not see the purpose of Trick Room on your team seeing that it is impossible for Dusclops with sweep with Night Shade.

If you really want you could replace Dusclops with a lead Bronzong using a set like this
437.gif

Bronzong @ Focus Sash
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Brave Nature
IVs: 0 Spd
Stealth Rock | Gyro Ball | Explosion | Trick Room

It is used to set up SR, use Trick room, and then either use Super Powered Gyro Balls and then explode if the Sash is broken (or on the last turn of Trick Room).

With Bronzong as your Stealth Rocker you have the option of removing stealth rock from Shuckle and giving him another beneficial move. Before I talk about moveset may I suggest removing the chesto berry in favor of Leftovers. With Shuckle after the +6 Defensive boost you're gonna want to pp stall as much as you can.

Shuckle @ Leftovers
Trait: Contrary
EVs: 252 SDef / 252 HP / 4 Def
Careful Nature
Shell Smash | Toxic | Rest | ??????

The forth move no longer has to be stealth rock. You could use Knock Off to remove any items on your opponent to mess with them, Power Split to take more hits, Wrap to tox stall even longer (and prevent them from switching out.) or even Sandstorm (and mess with Rain, Hail, Sun teams) to double the Special Defense of Shuckle. I'm actually thinking Sandstorm to get even more residual damage on the opponent (and it will eventually go away if you want to switch out.)

I'm not a fan of Focus Sash Infernape with Flare Blitz (Because of Recoil, and stealth rocks will be up most of the time. so the Sash would be broken roughly 75% of the time.) Infernape has the ability to cause switches at times giving you a chance to Swords Dance. Instead of using a Sash may I suggest a Custap Berry, or Salac Berry, or Life Orb (Life Orb is an actually really great item for Infernape) along with a move set / EV Spread of.

Infernape @ your item of choice
Trait: Blaze
EVs: 228 Atk / 28 SAtk / 252 Spd
Hasty Nature
Thunder Punch / Swords Dance / Close Combat / Fire Blast

With Alakzam (and Rotom-W) I have no changes. Maybe switch Psychic out for Psyshock to ruin (non scarf'd) Terrakion's and Keldeo's, It is all up to personal preference. I would say go for Psyshock. Do the damage calc's for yourself and then make a decision :)

Or

?

Both Dragonite and Salamence are great pokemon. While Dragonite has a lot more natural bulk, Salamence can hit a bit harder, and a bit faster. (You should watch out for Ice Shard as it is a instant kill most of the team against these two pokemon.)

If you want me to suggest a move set for Mence just ask. I wouldn't give Mence Dragon Dance though. I would have him as an all out attacker, but you can go here
http://www.smogon.com/bw/pokemon/salamence

to look at some move sets He could have for him I might suggest Mixed Sweeper, or a MiXScarf.

Also yes to the shiny Shuckle. :) also you could potentially focus sash your Alakazam, and still kill most of the things in OU (however Life Orb Alakazam is still good (with Magic Guard of Course)).

The main thing that could wall you is a Sigltyh. But those things are a bit rare :)
