First OU Stall Team EVER. dont laugh

Recently my attention have shifted to Stall teams, but I must admit that I have 0 experience with those.
So ive been working all day on this one, and while i've had more success that I though I would, I still have a LOT to improve.

Tyranitar @ Leftovers
Ani248MS.png

Sandstream

-Pursuit
-Stealth Rock
-Fire Blast
-Ice Beam

Evs: 252 HP, 76 Atk, 140 Sp Atk, 40 Sp Def
Sassy Nature

Tyranitar is bulky, and effective in setting rocks up. I use Pursuit because of Espeon and Xatu ruining my fun with Magic Mirror, they NEVER come in on Tyranitar, but they do on Tentacruel/Blissey/Skarmory so this teaches both a lesson. Ice beam is for the ever common Gliscor/Garchomp switch ins, and Fire blast murders Ferrothorn, Skarmory, and it also damages Steels in general. Has great synergy with Dusclops as it lures Physical sweepers which dont like Burn status. Tyranitar also has problems with Jellicent, while he can pursuit Jelli, it will burn Tar and has water STAB.

Tentacruel @ Black Sludge
Ani073MS.png

Liquid Ooze

-Surf
-Ice Beam
-Toxic Spikes
-Rapid Spin

Evs: 252 HP, 252 Def, 4 Sp Def
Bold Nature

My Rapid Spinner/Toxic Spiker. Tentacruel is good at his job. I used to run Scald over Surf, but the latter batters Donphan/Excadrill, who aside from Tentacruel are very common Spinners, and seem to think they can swtich in on Tentacruel because of Ground STAB. Tentacruel also loves switching in on Ferrothorn as it does little damage, and will lose health if it Leech Seeds Tentacruel. Jellicent makes him cry, because not only he blocks Rapid Spin, but will status and laughs at anything Tentacruel throws at him.

160px-242Blissey.png

Blissey @ Leftovers
Ani242MS.png

Natural Cure

-Wish
-Protect
-Seismic Toss
-Heal Bell

Evs: 252 HP, 252 Def
Calm Nature

My Special Wall/Wish passer/Heal Beller. Used to run Bold nature, but she wasnt taking Special hits that well. I dont know if to replace Seismic Toss with T-Wave or Toxic, because this set is useless against Ghosts.
Wish and Heal Bell keep my Team healthy, removing unexpected Status like Burn on Skarmory or Quagsire. Seismic toss gives her Offense against Special sweepers or switch ins.

200px-227Skarmory.png

Skarmory @ Shed Shell
Ani227MS.png

Sturdy

-Spikes
-Whirlwind
-Roost
-Drill Peck

Evs: 252 HP, 252 Def, 4 Sp Def
Impish Nature

I just recently added Skarmory, he is an exellent Physical wall/Spiker. Dropped Brave Bird in favor of Drill Peck because it seemed to take out needed chunks of Skarmory's HP. Skarmory sets Spikes nicely and deals with the pesky Toxicroak Rain teams almost always carry, and makes Breloom's day miserable with high defense and Flying STAB, but Skarm needs to be wary of roosting on Focus punch.
Skarmory also is great at shuffling opponents thanks to Whirlwind, numerous resistences and Self Recovery.

145px-195Quagsire.png

Quagsire @ Leftovers
Ani195MS.png

Unaware

-Earthquake
-Ice Beam
-Stockpile
-Recover

Evs: 244 HP, 128 Def, 136 Sp Def.
Relaxed Nature

I know the spread seems ankward, but to my experience with this investment in Sp Def Quagsire handles neutral Sp attacks well enough to rack up Stockpiles.
His maim job is to stop Boosting Sweepers, which give my team a hard time. Having an instant recovery move and Stockpile wears Poisoned pokemon down nicely thanks to Toxic Spikes.
While Unaware makes Stats boosting moves useless, they also negate the effects of Overheat, Leaf Storm, Draco Meteor, Close Combat and co.; so even after 3 stockpiles, Lati@s/Hydrigon's Draco Meteor will consistently be at full power making imposible for Quagy to deal with them.

160px-356Dusclops.png

Dusclops @ Eviolite
Ani356MS.png

Pressure

-Confuse Ray
-Will O Wisp
-Seismic Toss
-Pain Split

Evs: 252 HP, 252 Def, 4 Sp Def.
Calm Nature

Dusclops is my Spin Blocker, and great Staller. Blissey cant touch him unless she carries Toxic, and if she stays in, Pain Split wrecks her.
Burns Physical Attackers
and confuses everything in sight in hopes of stalling and racking poison damage. Seismic toss for some offense and breaks substitutes easely.
Dusclops really takes hits very well thanks to Eviolite, and is usually healthy thanks to Pain Split, but often times needs Wish support from Blissey.
Rest could work with Heal bell, but makes Dusclops inneffective if Blissey is down.

THREATS:

1) Infernape: He just makes me cry. Infernape demolishes Skarmory, Tyranitar and Blissey. My switch ins are either Tentacruel or Quagsire.

2) Tyranitar: I have problems with mixed Tar running Superpower, my own Tyranitar cant touch him, the only thing that can switch in on him is Quagsire.

3) Rotom-W: This thing wrecks ANY of my current pokemon with Trick.

4) Lati@s: They make me sad. Draco Meteor hurts :(

5) Reuniclus: I have no idea how to deal with this thing really. My only bet is pursuing him, but Focus Blast hurts badly.

OTHER NOTES:

-I have been thinking on changing my spin blocker to Jellicent, who absorbs Water, deals efficiently with Infernape and has self recovery.
-Maybe running Crunch on Tar to deal with Reuniclus?.
-Considering Dragonite as a Phazer with Sub Roosting Multi Scale set, and Ferrothorn as a Spiker.
-Quagsire is a MUST as Boosting sweepers wreck my team.
-Spiritomb as a possible Spin Blocker and Reuniclus counter, as the common one doesnt has any move that can hit him.

Thanks you in advance

Still new to this but your tar seems unfocused. If you want him to be bulky then maybe put more into your special defense. You're afraid of focus blast sure but you could take it better after his special defense becomes 449 in sand. If you're afraid of reuniclus you should always be faster than him unless trick room is up and with the bonus special defense you should be able to hit it twice with a crunch to kill it (it doesn't have awesome defense anyway so you may be able to ohko it stab crunch.)

You could run impish nature giving it a 350 defense 449 special defense in sand 304 attack and 342 hp. OR maybe put a Jolly nature on it and max out defense and speed and include a dragon dance in your movepool. Look for an opportunity to dance and your attack goes up to 456 defense is 319, special defense is 354 and speed goes up to 364. Decent spread and obviously a second dragon dance would be pretty devastating if you could manage it.

I know a special attacker is really popular but I think you could really abuse his raw power to be a bulky sweeper which...is kinda the best of both worlds.

That tar is indeed effective, but the i would lose anything to damage ferrothorn if i ditch the special attacking set... maybe i should give magnezone a try with that moveset

If you were to run 252 HP / 252+ SpDef on Quagsire, then you could solver your Reinclus problem easily.

the problem with qugsire is that it cant beat reunicus 1on1 earthq does 22% on average and it can recover and just psychic you till SP def drops...

I would deffinatly recomend Jellicent as your spinblocker. IMO, spinblocking isn't as important as what it used to be...but if you need one, Jellicent will do it for you. I can't count the amount of times that he has completely walled offensive teams with will-o-wisp and recover.

Here is the set I currently run:

Jellicent@ leftovers
Trait: Cursed Body
Calm Nature, 252hp, 252sp def
Scald
Will-o-wisp
Acid Armor
Recover

Of course, watch out for those electirc attacks...

Hi

This is actually a pretty solid stall team, but I do have a suggestion for you.
CM Reuniclus and to a lesser extend Cosmic Power Sigilyph are going to give you a lot of trouble, Like Mooo mentioned this can be fixed by running specially defensive Quagsire with Curse.

EDIT: is Ice Beam actually needed on Tyranitar. You have Skarmory who walls Gliscor and Garchomp pretty good. Instead you could try Rest on Tyranitar for more durability, you even have a cleric.

Your team is surprisingly solid, especially considering that it's your first stall team. I'm going to start and third the recommendations of Curse Quagsire (better than Swampert). It beats Reuniclus, a problem for most stall teams, quite easily, and is a hard stop to many offensive Pokemon lacking a Grass-type move.

Here's the set:

195.gif

Quagsire (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Unaware
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef
Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Curse
- Recover
- Earthquake
- Waterfall

For Tyranitar, I'd recommend either Iconic's spread of 252 HP / 180 SAtk / 76 SDef or the spread I saw recently in Delko's RMT, 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SDef. Crunch could also be used over either Pursuit or Ice Beam. For Tentacruel, in order to deal with Infernape better, a spread of 252 HP / 120 Def / 136 SDef with a Calm nature should also be considered to take attacks better, considering that you have Skarmory to take the physical blows. Regarding Skarmory, try Brave Bird over Drill Peck. The extra power is appreciable. You're missing 4 EVs on your Blissey. I'd recommend sticking them into SDef. I've nothing much to say about Dusclops.

Overall, this team is very solid. Good luck in the world of stall!

@Delko Thanks for the compliment, ive been enjoying great succes with Curse Quagsire with max Sp def, Reuniclus is relatively easy to beat now. I will test Rest on Tar and see the results, becuase Quag can deal with Gliscor.

@Wario Im using that Quagsire Spread/Set now, works wonders, thank you very much. Ill go ahead and try Iconic's spread, Tar appreciates the Sp A. evs, and its quiet bulky without invesment.

@tackjj Jellicent is effective, I use it on other teams, but then Blissey would just be a HUGE problem because Dusclops actually checks her with Pain Split and Seismic Toss.

Thanks all for advise

Edit: Ill edit the maim post as soon as i have time with the changes.
