The Team
Introduction:
Hey, guys. This is actually my first RMT! This is my main team for WiFi use and I've battled a couple times with it on Shoddy. I think it's an alright team, but it could probably get better. It's mainly centered around Scizor getting a late-game sweep. It's a very fragile team bar Porygon2, so I have to play around resistances and immunities. It's a nice break from stall. Enjoy!
Overview:
This is the line-up! I have Starmie for an anti-lead and rapid spinner and late-game sweeper. Porygon2 for countering some of the top threats and for poison/paralysis support. Salamence is for breaking stall and walls. Infernape is for scouting. Dugtrio is for revenge killing and Scizor is for late-game sweeping.
In detail:
Starmie @ Life Orb
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Special Attack / 252 Speed
Nature: Timid
Ability: Natural Cure
- Hydro Pump
- Ice Beam
- Grass Knot
- Rapid Spin
Description: Starmie serves as an anti-lead, rapid spinner and late-game sweeper. He beats all of the common leads except for Tyranitar with the combination of Hydro Pump, Grass Knot and Rapid Spin. Ice Beam just rounds the set off with perfect coverage. I also need Life Orb to score some OHKOs, so please, don't tell me to get rid of it for Leftovers or something. I know that this lead means that I can't get Stealth Rock down, but I think it's worth it in exchange for not letting the opponent getting them down, either.
Synergy:
- Dugtrio
- Salamence, Infernape, Scizor
- Salamence, Infernape, Scizor
- Porygon2, Scizor
Porygon2 @ Leftovers
EVs: 252 HP / 112 Defense / 144 Special Attack
Nature: Bold
Ability: Trace
- Thunderbolt
- Ice Beam
- Toxic
- Recover
Description: I. Love. Porygon2. It's a really good anti-metagame Pokemon, countering some of the top threats (Salamence, Gyarados, Heatran) with ease. He can also switch into Vaporeon, Jolteon and Electivire, thanks to his awesome ability, Trace. I went with Discharge and Toxic over Thunderbolt and Thunder Wave because it allows me to beat other walls. I was told to swap this out for Rotom-H, which I might test out. The EVs allow me to always OHKO standard Gyarados without Stealth Rock.
Synergy:
- Starmie, Salamence
Salamence @ Life Orb
EVs: 16 Attack / 240 Special Attack / 252 Speed
Nature: Naive
Ability: Intimidate
- Draco Meteor
- Outrage
- Earthquake
- Fire Blast
Description: Bet you've never seen this guy before! Haha.. yeah. I run Naive with max Speed EVs so that a worst case scenario would be me losing a speed-tie vs. another Salamence. He's also my main weapon against stall, and he does a great job at it. I don't have to worry about Stealth Rock 95% of the time, thanks to my awesome anti-lead. I went with Fire Blast over Flamethrower because without Stealth Rock support, I need as much power as possible.
Synergy:
- Starmie, Infernape, Scizor
- Dugtrio
- Scizor
Infernape @ Life Orb
EVs: 248 Attack / 64 Special Attack / 196 Speed
Nature: Naive
Ability: Blaze
- Close Combat
- U-Turn
- Stone Edge
- Overheat
Description: A physically-based MixApe. He's also my scouter. I ran 4 extra speed EV's to out-run other 192 speed positive-natured Infernapes. The main reason I chose this set is because I didn't have anyone with U-Turn. This set's Overheat does just as much as the specially-based set's Fire Blast, and the Close Combat is obviously a lot more powerful, which is nice. I might sub out Stone Edge for Mach Punch, because I have a Lucario weakness.
Synergy:
- Starmie, Salamence
- Salamence
- None
- Starmie, Scizor
Dugtrio @ Choice Band
EVs: 40 HP / 252 Attack / 216 Speed
Nature: Jolly
Ability: Arena Trap
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Aerial Ace
- Night Slash
Description: Dugtrio's pretty cool. He provides a nice immunity to electric, and works really well with Infernape's U-Turn. There really isn't too much freedom with his movepool, so I just went with what works. Night Slash over Pursuit and Sucker Punch because I don't want to be locked into either one. 40 HP EVs gives me a high chance of surviving a Life Orb Lucario's ExtremeSpeed, which could really help. I've been considering switching Choice Band to Life Orb and making Scizor Banded.
Synergy:
- Starmie, Salamence
- Salamence, Infernape, Scizor
- Starmie, Infernape, Scizor
Scizor @ Life Orb
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Attack / 8 Special Defense
Nature: Adamant
Ability: Technician
- Swords Dance
- Bullet Punch
- Quick Attack
- Brick Break
Description: Scizor tends to come in late game, set up a Swords Dance and finish it off. She's also my only priority-user and Steel type. Quick Attack is so that I can hit Pokemon that I normally couldn't with Bullet Punch. I put the EVs into Special Defense rather than Speed so that I can beat other Scizorz who try to Superpower me. There's not much to be said about this one.. x.x
Synergy:
- Starmie, Salamence, Infernape
