First RMT: Ubers match

Actually, honestly, I just haven't played in a long time so I MIGHT have done a RMT before and just forgotten about it.

Anyways, I should first explain my inspiration when talking about this team. I waste a lot of time fiddling around with the Pokedex. Not so much on reading up on great awesome strategies and such, but instead looking at long forgotten pokemon who have fallen to NU from an overly low shelf they held back in R/B/G days. In reading some of said opinions I came across the interesting idea of basing a Ubers team around pairs. Rain teams are overly common and I didn't want to JUST branch into a Sandstorm of Sunny day team so I instead thought it might be fun to create lucrative pairings, a weather inducer and a NU pokemon who loves them, who can come out after the weather change and make with the havoc.

Since I wanted to use abusive NU pokemon, I decided to plan for a Ubers team, which then left me with deciding on weather inducers and their NU partner. Since its Ubers, and I missed this generation by a wide margin, I decided to use both Groundon and Kygore, the polar opposites from the 3rd Gen. They were chose both because of their heavy firepower and ability to induce a weath effect so that I can use two of my favorite NU pokes, Seaking and Tangrowth. Well, ya, ok, you got me. Tengela was my favorite first gen poke, not Tangrowth, but hey, its a shmexy evolution. {will add more in on this after I make the post}

My key worry with this team is the weather effects and its dependence on them. Of the Ubers world, Rayq might prove one of the largest threats with its ability to clear weather abilities. The other key issue is the team's inability to be a competitent team WITHOUT the weath effects created because, lets face it, Tangela without a speed boost could meet its end in any number of ways. How do you counter this? Dialga. Dialga is resistant to most of what Rayq can't dish out, has a powerful STAB Dragon Pulse to hit him with and can stall rather well without the other pokes support. So, if Dialga is gonna be the big, slow moving gun, then whose gonna take sweeping duties to clear opponents teams when my teams been cleared out? That was a much more complicated question. Deoxys-A is definitly the biggest gun in the Ubers gun cabinet. His base attack and special attack stats are blowing past anything else without a choice band, and hes gonna put a hurting on you if you don't watch out. BUT hes also fragile, and easily broken like the glass canon he is. This turned me off from him for the most part, and brought me to Mewtwo. Mewtwo is a big, heavy gun in his own right, though not as big as Deoxys-A, but has some extra bulkyness and heft to him to help him survive some hits without melting down before he does his damage.

So, anyways, the team.

Groundon
Adamant w/ Expert Belt
4 HP/ 252 Attack / 252 Speed

Fire Punch
Thunder Punch
Rock Slide
Earthquake

Groundon is a force to be reackoned with. Taking advantage of his higher offensive stat, this set is designed to step in, hit an opponent hard, then slip back out for Tangrowth to step in. Expert Belt might seem like an odd choice for Groundon, however, it allows him to increase his physical hitting powers without locking him into an attack. His move set is set up to give him a powerful STAB earthquake and then attacks to hit many of Groundon's potent counters.

Tangrowth
Rash w/ Life Orb
252 HP/ 252 Special Attack/4 Speed

Solar Power
Sleep Powder
Anient Power
Hidden Power Fire

Tangrowth has fascinated me since he first arrived on the scene. Most of his stats just beg for him to be used, but his cripplingly low speed has held him out of my grasp. Untill now. Solar Power is a powerful, 120 BP STAB attack that can make many opponents cower in fear. Sleep Powder and his doubled speed stat allow him to outrun many other Pokes and put them to sleep when needed. Ancient Power gives him a powerful rock hit and Hidden Power Fire lets him hit Skarmories who think they can step in and easily KO him with a flying STABed attack.

Kygore
Modest w/ Choice Specs
252 HP/ 252 Special Attack/4 Speed
Surf
Thunder
Hidden Power Fighting
Ice Beam

Kygore's another fearsomly powerful poke hitting hard and fast with STABed Surf and sure fire Thunder. This set is built to let Kygore hit one or two pokes hard then switch out, to let Seaking take advantage of the probable special wall who comes out to try and wall Kygore.

Seaking
Adamant w/ Custap Berry
4HP/252 Attack/252 Speed
Meaghorn
Waterfall
Return
Toxic

Seaking might cause laughs high and low at first appearnce, but don't let this litte fish lul you into a sense of saefty. Big, hard hitting Megahorns drop many of the Ubers most powerful psychics who might forget that Seaking is packing. Waterfall gives it a big, hard hitting Stab to fall back on and, when all else fails, Toxic gives you a passing annoyance to enemies who have him on the ropes, or have already dropped Kygore, with Castap Berry allowing that one last hit. Maybe.

Mewtwo
Mild w/ Lum Berry
252 HP/252 Special Attack/4 Speed

Focus Blast
Earthquake
Flamethrower
Ice Beam

Before Deoxys, there was Mewtwo, the original super psychic. His powerful Special Attacks blow the doors off many opponents, leaving them shrivled in the corner, crying. This set allows for powerful, supereffective hits on many of Mewtwo's common counters. Focus Blast helps deal with Blissy, whilst Flamthrower can handle Scizor and Metagross. Earthquake gives coverage for those occassional, pesky sweepers who think they can step in easily.

Dialga
Modest w/ Leftovers
252 HP/252 Special attack/4 Special Deffense
Rest
Sleep Talk
Dragon Pulse
Aura Sphere

Restalking Dialga. Seems like some crazy set I just pulled out of his movepool, which I sorta did. Except, I did do this with some thinking. Dialga brings some much needed bulkyness to the team His high special Attack can demolsh plenty of pokes with neutral hits on near every poke in the game. Aura Sphere helps to cover up the pokes that Dragon Pulse won't cover for full coverage. Dialga is also the main anti-Rayq support needed to help insure the use of weather effects. He can take neutral or less from Rayqs attacks, drop him with dragon pulse and sleep it off like a bad hang over.

Hmm
Okay we have a lot of issues here.

Groudon: Why? What's the point of Thunderpunch (unless the Expert Belt boost means something to Kyogre...)? Just replace it with Dragon Claw IMO

Tangrowth: Solar Power is not an attack. Heck, it's not even an ability Tangrowth can have. I'm really not sure where you're going with your moveset but at least have Power Whip over "Solar Power"

Kyogre: Water Spout over HP Fighting. What's HP Fighting for, anyways?

Mewtwo: Your moveset makes no sense, and the EVs and Nature are even weirder

Seaking: Is horrible. If you want to take advantage of the rain Kingdra is 1069764863329x better. Forget Megahorn

Your team can not handle Lati@s at all. In fact, anything with a strong Dragon move can quite easily obliterate the team. Dragon Dance Rayquaza will cut half of your team. Calm Mind Giratina will wall your whole team as well.

And honestly Ubers is not the place to abuse NU Pokemon in...at least not at this time. They're just too plain outclassed.

The best advice I can give to you right now is to re read the Pokemon analysis and read the Uber guide in my Signature. Your whole team needs a serious revamp before I could go anywhere.

Your mewtwo nature and evs arent completely whack, but brick break and attack evs would be way better for blissey than focus blast.
Also a defensive careful/sassy groudon with stealth rock and thunder wave is a better lead groudon. I'd go sassy with 0 speed ivs to guarantee the weather is on your side vs kyogore.
Yeah earthquake is a 150 power attack when neutral, with stab factored in, and thunderpunch is 150 power when super effective.
