This is my first RMT so feel free to bash away. As a quick note, I plan on
creating this team in my Pokemon White as well so I'm avoiding legendary pokemon and hidden power. All these sets are basically copies of the smogon sets but I do understand how to use them effectively.
Froslass (F) @ Focus Sash
Trait: Cursed Body
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Spikes
- Taunt
- Ice Beam
- Destiny Bond
The lead for the team. She will always get 1-2 layers of spikes out unless she can kill something right off the bat with ice beam. Taunt is obviously for stopping entry hazard set up and the focus sash and destiny bond combo is brutal to anyone who doesn't expect it (which surprisingly works quite often).
Scrafty(M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Shed Skin
EVs: 252 HP / 8 Atk / 248 SDef
Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Drain Punch
- Bulk Up
- Rest
- Crunch
The pokemon that I based the team around. His typing makes him a great tank, especially after a few bulk ups. Drain punch and crunch provide great neutral coverage and rest with shed skin is a semi-reliable heal.
Whimsicott(M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Prankster
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Substitute
- Leech Seed
- Encore
- Stun Spore
This is probably the most annoying pokemon I've ever seen. He makes a great counter to weather teams with his priority stun spore that can ruin the fun of things with sand throw or swift swim. Provided he survives he can then subseed to stall just about any sweeper to death (even the likes of heatran and volcarona). Encore is to screw over taunters so I can switch in a more viable threat.
Tentacruel(M) @ Black Sludge
Trait: Liquid Ooze
EVs: 252 HP / 64 Def / 176 SDef / 16 Spd
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Toxic Spikes
- Rapid Spin
- Scald
- Ice Beam
The rapid spinner of the team. He's bulky enough to survive switching in to spin away hazards (or just absorb t-spikes) and lay down a few of his own. Scald can debilitate physical sweepers that switch in and ice beam can destroy ground and grass types that come in.
Galvantula(M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Compoundeyes
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Thunder
- Bug Buzz
- Energy Ball
- Volt Switch
The special sweeper. He's almost free to come in depending if whimsicott encored a non damage move or a different pokemon is forcing a switch. Thunder has around 90 accuracy with compoundeyes making it a very reliable STAB. Bug buzz covers many types that thunder isn't effective against and energy ball hits ground switch ins. Volt switch is to get some added damage in if galvantula is forced to switch.
Gliscor(M) @ Toxic Orb
Trait: Poison Heal
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Swords Dance
- Earthquake
- Facade
- Stone Edge
The physical sweeper. He checks many of the current threats and with toxic orb and poison heal is immune to status and heals himself every turn without wasting a move on roost. Since he forces switches quite often he has a free turn to swords dance and attempt a sweep. Earthquake, facade and stone edge give him great coverage.
This team has worked very well for me so far. Not to sound closed minded but I'm looking for more moveset and stat changes then i am for switching pokemon out entirely, though I am perfectly willing to try suggestions.
