Hello everybody. I would like to start playing competitive pokemon. I've read some guides about natures, EVs and IVs and the concepts are pretty clear. I am mainly interested in single fights and am trying to build a team but I don't know where to start. Could someone recommend me a team to get started? Unfortunately the last game I played was Black / White, and I don't know any moves or tools. I await your advice, thanks.

Hey Vale1993, welcome to Smogon! The RMT forum is for people who want some feedback on a team they made. If you are just looking for teams you should have a look at Sample team threads (good teams made for beginners). Assuming you want to try SS OU, I would recommand having a look at the sample teams in the OU room on Pokemon Showdown (here: https://play.pokemonshowdown.com/overused). You can get them by joining the room and writing '/rfaq s' in the chat (or just ask there if you don't manage to get them). Alternatively, you can check the sample teams thread on the OU forum on smogon (here: https://www.smogon.com/forums/threads/ss-ou-sample-teams-crown-tundra.3672556/) but it's less up to date.

To PM someone on Smogon, go over their name on any of their post. It will display a little pop-up with a summary of their profile. Then, hit the "Start conversation" button and you will be able to write a PM just like you write a regular thread.
