First time making a team (UU)

Since this is my first time making a team, it might be a little noob-ish..I would appreciate any help
dpmfa038.png

Ninetales @ Wide Lens
Timid - Flash Fire
EV's : 252 Sp.Atk / 4 Sp.Def / 252 Spe
Fire Blast / Hypnosis / Nasty Plot / Energy Ball
Wide Lens helps brings Fire Blast and Hypnosis to 93.5% and 77%, respectively which I would call pretty reliable. My friend thought of using this set so I decided to copy him =P Currently my lead.

Steelix @ Leftovers
Impish - Sturdy
EV's : 252 HP / 120 Atk / 136 Sp.Def
Earthquake / Gyro Ball / Roar / Stealth Rock (or Explosion. might put SR on Claydol instead)
My main physical wall. Sets up Stealth Rock in ideal situations or switch out if necessary. Walls many threats and P-haze away any set-ups they might have. Maybe I can lead with this guy and set up SR?
dpmfa171.png

Lanturn @ Leftovers
Calm - Volt Absorb
EV's : 40 HP / 136 Sp.Atk / 252 Sp.Def / 80 Spe
Surf / Thunderbolt / Ice Beam / Thunder Wave OR Sleep Talk
My main special wall. Electric/Water/Ice resistances to name a few, and covers Steelix's Fire weakness. Still pending on T-Wave or Sleep Talk( to absorb sleep ).
dpmfa344.png

Claydol @ Leftovers
Bold - Levitate
EV's : 252 HP / 144 Def / 114 Sp.Atk
Rapid Spin / Earth Power / Shadow Ball / Psychic (maybe I'll switch this to Stealth Rock and take out Steelix's SR for Explosion? Please give me some advice on this too)
My Rapid Spinner. 1/2 of my team has SR weakness, so I thought Claydol would make a decent spinner.
dpmfa106.png

Hitmonlee @ Choice Scarf
Jolly - Limber
EV's : 252 Atk / 6 Sp.Def / 252 Spe
Close Combat / Stone Edge / Blaze Kick / Earthquake
My physical revenge killer. Don't really know what to replace this with..
dpmfa334.png

Altaria @ Life Orb
Adamant - Natural Cure
EV's : 72 HP / 252 Atk / 184 Spe
Dragon Dance / Dragon Claw / Earthquake / Roost
Can potentially absorb status. Also can DD up and sweep through

Also I would like to add a defensive Impish Drapion w/
Toxic Spikes / Whirlwind / Knock-Off / Earthquake OR Crunch
But who should I take out for Drapion?

some UU threats and possible counters..I bolded some UU threats that I do not have a solid counter for.

On the Physical side :

-Scyther - SD'ed Brick Break would hurt Steelix bad, but it's the only reliable counter to Scyther
-Kangaskhan - Hitmonlee revenge kills it. Don't really have a solid counter I guess
-Swellow - Steelix walls it left and right
-Linoone - Steelix
-Absol - Steelix
-Banette - Steelix, but needs to watch out for Trick
-Cacturne - Hitmonlee revenge kills. No real solid counter on my team
-Leafeon - Ninetales
-Hitmonlee - Claydol w/ Psychic if I dont' switch that move for SR
-Kabutops - I think EQ'ing with Steelix is my best option, but not really reliable
-Armaldo - Steelix
-Rapidash - Lanturn
-Stantler - free switch in for Hitmonlee if I predict a T-wave, then kills
-Relicanth - uhh help? Maybe Ninetales as a revenge-killer and hope it doesn't have Rock Polish >_>
-Granbull - Steelix can come in and put a big dent but needs to watch out for EQ...=(

Now for the Special side:

-Ninetales - Altaria. Unless it has HP Ice, then I dunno what I would do =P
-Grumpig - help =(
-Glaceon - Lanturn switches in safely and hits with repeated Surf/T-bolt
-Golduck - Lanturn comes in on Surf for a free switch in, then T-bolt hoping it doesn't have HP Grass/Electric.. =(
-Jynx - for the "Luna" set, Lanturn can do pretty decently if I decide to give it Sleep Talk over T-wave. On Choice sets...come in on her locked Ice Beam and hit with repeated Surf or T-Bolt
-Rotom - Lure a WoW out with Steelix if there are any chance, then Ninetales comes in for a free boost and KO's it.
-Venomoth - I think Lanturn's my best bet.
-Driftblim - predict and Hitmonlee comes in to kill it with Stone Edge
-Wailord - Lanturn resists Water/Ice moves from this fatty, and comes in to T-bolt
-Froslass - Lanturn

Now for Mixed Attackers :

-Clefable - Unpredictable. On most sets though, Steelix does a good job. On Specs set on the analysis, Lanturn walls 3/4 moves
-Sharpedo - on Specs set, Lanturn might do a good job. Or maybe revenge kill with Hitmonlee
-Ampharos - Steelix/Lanturn
-Altaria - Steelix
-Manectric - Lanturn w/ Surf
-Raichu/Pikachu - Lanturn comes in safely and Surfs to death
-Lapras - Most sets are walled by Lanturn
-Persian - Steelix might wall and just attack since it has low HP/Def's
-Nidoking - ahhh help on this one too please

So I decided to create my own team for the first time ever and this is what I came up with.So I "tried" to make a team around Lanturn/Steelix but don't think it was really successful. I put some thoughts into this trying to counter many UU threats. Any advice would help me alot so please lend me a hand.

Looks all around well thought out, Tho if you want the Drapion I say maybe lose hitmonlee and make altaria a little more bulky. Then you can use Drapion as a lead, Toxic spikes and have a bunch of bulky people.

If you do that, A scarf on Ninetales may be viable? If something comes in that you can handle, maybe it has 1 to many stat boots for you to handle, a scarf is always safe. Tho switch nasty plot then for dark pulse and switch fire blast back to flame thrower.

Just try not to make drapion a suicide get spikes and be done, if they rapid spin and he is gone it may hurt and cost the game.

I say play with it a bit and see what you are weak too and what you can't counter then revise your team.

Yay my partner replied to my thread. Altaria little more bulky as in different nature/set or just the EV spread? Maybe that can be the way to get Drapion in my team =P Ty for the help.

A few of your non-bolded counters perhaps need reconsidering a little.

Armaldo - Steelix

Steelix cannot repeatedly switch into Earthquakes, which are standard on the Sword Dance set. Unfortunately with great prediction you have nothing that can safely switch into it. A defensive water type (Blastoise, Poliwrath) would help against it.

Banette - Steelix, but needs to watch out for Trick

It also needs to beware Will-O-Wisp, particularly as you have no cleric on your team. Altaria could fulfill this role with some minor alterations.

Glaceon - Lanturn switches in safely and hits with repeated Surf/T-bolt

Remember that Glaceon can potentially run both Fake Tears and Wish, so just be wary before entering a war of attrition with it. Ninetales can switch into the occaisonal ice beam and scare it out though.

Altaria - Steelix

Flamethrower and Fire Blast are common on special attacking versions, so you will need to scout its set before switching it in.

Lapras - Most sets are walled by Lanturn

And the Dragon Dance set?

So switch Lanturn to a defensive Water-types you suggested?
Maybe for Banette, if I can predict a WoW Ninetales can switch in for a free boost and attempt to sweep. If I get Tricked on the switch..idk >_>
Ninetales again for Glaceon,
For Altaria, special attacking versions are kinda rare but if I face one, I'll switch to Ninetales for fire resistance then maybe HP Ice on it.
No clue what to do with DD Lapras. Considering Explosion on Steelix who might be sturdy enough to survive 1~2 DD Waterfall by 50%+

This team wins for Lanturn.

But in serious opinions....

The Ninetails looks pretty good. I was going to suggest Will-O-Wisp instead of Nasty Plot, but as your main special sweeper, that's actually pretty good.

As much as I really really hate to say it, if anything needs to be switched from this team, it would be.... *gulp*

Lanturn, for another bulky water as previously suggested. >__>

Although, you could put in that Drapion as a replacement for Steelix instead. Spiking and Whirlwind, its generally doing the same thing. Knock Off is just too fun.
