So I'm pretty new to battling and I quickly grew bored of OU so I wanna try my luck in UU. This is my first UU team so sorry if there's any obvious flaws. Also I know I'm completely missing the FWG core but I was wondering how important that is when making a team.
Deoxys-D @ Leftovers
Trait: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Spikes
- Recover
- Seismic Toss
- Taunt
This guy is a beast of a lead. He'll outspeed most stealth rock leads and get the taunt off. Then I can begin setting up my spikes. Seismic toss is there in case I get taunted and timid nature to outspeed other Deoxys (or at least speed tie)
Ambipom (M) @ Silk Scarf
Trait: Technician
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Fake Out
- Low Kick
- Return
- Pursuit
Ambipom is my revenge killer, pretty standard set. Fake out for quick damage and return for a powerful STAB. Low kick is for Registeel and Rhyperior while pursuit is there to trap the ghost types that block my rapid spins.
Azelf @ Life Orb
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Flamethrower
- Psyshock
- Grass Knot
- Stealth Rock
My special attacker and stealth rocker. It may seem like a waste of a moveslot to have stealth rocks but if I can get rocks up with the spikes Deoxys sets up, my opponents pokemon will be taking massive damage just by switching in. Psyshock destroys special walls, while flamethrower and grass knot are for coverage.
Heracross (M) @ Toxic Orb
Trait: Guts
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Swords Dance
- Close Combat
- Megahorn
- Facade
If I can get one swords dance up, Heracross can OHKO almost anything in the tier. He can also switch in on a predicted status move and proceed to destroy my opponents team with CC, megahorn and facade.
Porygon2 @ Eviolite
Trait: Download
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SAtk
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Tri Attack
- Discharge
- Ice Beam
- Recover
Porygon2 is an absolute monster as a bulky attacker. With eviolite there is no need to invest in defense and he becomes very difficult to take down. Tri-Attack for a powerful STAB attack, discharge and ice beam for the boltbeam combo. I thought about using t-bolt, but opted for discharge for the higher paralyze chance to allow me to recover more efficiently.
Hitmontop (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Rapid Spin
- Toxic
- Close Combat
- Sucker Punch
Standard spinner. Toxic is there to cripple sweepers, CC to get solid damage before I switch out and sucker punch for priority.
