This is my first VGC team and so it probably needs a lot of work, and since i'm a little new to the format i need some help picking what moves would be best. Although i know it isn't the best, I would like to keep my Eelektross on my team because it's pretty much my favorite pokemon, and it does an pretty good job on the team. I'm also not sure if non-legendary Uber pokemon can be used, so if they can be please let me know so i can update my team accordingly.
Eelektross @ Assault Vest
EVs: 230HP / 252Atk / 24 Def
Adamant Nature
- Super Fang
- Drain Punch
- Knock Off / Dragon Tail
- Thunder Punch
This is usually one of my lead pokemon (for reasons stated above). His lack of weaknesses make him a good neutral wall and his extensive moveset has a lot of versatility. Thunder Punch is his obligatory STAB (I might replace it with Wild Charge because it can take down super fang'd walls quicker), Super Fang to put early pressure on walls like Mega Slowbro/Skarmory, Drain Punch to recover health, and idk whether to give him Knock Off or Dragon Tail, because both have their uses.
Altaria @ Altarianite
EVs: 64HP / 202Atk / 242 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Return
- Earthquake
- Roost
Dragon Dance Altaria. I took 10 away from speed and gave it to attack to compensate because i could not get a good Adamant natured one ;-;. It's awesome at what it does, and the only time it isn't useful is when it can't OHKO an Arromatisse or Slowbro and Trick Room goes up.
Sableye @ Leftovers
EVs: 252HP/ 108Def / 148SpD
Impish Nature (HA Prankster)
- Fake Out
- Shadow Sneak
- Taunt
- Will-O-Wisp / Recover
I gave him Fake Out because the first turn is vital and we all know how fake out can be a game changer. Shadow Sneak to finish off Sturdy / Sash mons and for some early chipping damage against walls. Taunt to keep the opponent from setting up (really comes in handy with other DD / Calm Mind users), and i don't know whether to keep WoW for extra damage/protection or give him Recover to help him stay in longer.
Gengar @ Focus Sash
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Sludge Bomb
- Shadow Ball
- Protect
- Destiny Bond
Gengar is my scout and special sweeper pokemon. Modest nature and Max special EVs for max possible damage, protect for a free turn and to see what moves the opponent's mons know, and Destiny Bond to stop the opponent's momentum when they're trying to sweep.
Metagross @ Life Orb
EVs: 252HP / 252Atk/ 4Spe
Adamant Nature
- Meteor Mash
- Bullet Punch
- Zen Headbutt
- Ice Punch / Grass Knot
All-Out Attacker. Max HP so it can tank some while still doing a lot of damage with max Attack and Life Orb. Only thing is idk whether to give it Grass Knot or Ice Punch, because they both cover several different pokemon that need to be checked against like other Mega Altaria, or Slowbros and Terrakions.
Rotom-Wash @ Lum Berry
EVs: 252HP / 120Def / 88SpA / 120SpD
Modest Nature
- Pain Split
- Hydro Pump
- Volt Switch
- Hidden Power Fire
I replaced WoW with Hidden Power Fire for more type coverage. I replaced his usual Thunderbolt with Volt Switch so he could have some more utility, and gave him a Modest nature so he can still do some damage. He's pretty good at tanking, but he has been dying pretty frequently lately and i'm up to the idea of replacing him.
So, thanks for taking a look at my team and please post any suggestions below :)
