i live on flat 1 of a building, at number 20. So on deliveroo my address is "Flat 1, 20 Mollycoddle Lane, London". There are three buzzers, each labelled flat 1, 2 and 3. The labelling is a little hard to see at night.
When I order from Deliveroo, about half the time drivers will arrive, ring the bell, all is good. The other half of the time, they get confused and when I asked one driver he suggested I put down ground floor, since it's the ground floor. idk, maybe some people interpret "flat 1" to be "first floor flat".
So I did that, except now I get drivers who don't know which buzzer "ground floor flat" is because the buzzers are labelled flat 1, flat 2 etc. Feedback from another driver "just put down flat 1 since that's what they're labelled as".
So fuck this, I put down both to cater to all drivers. "Flat 1, Ground Floor, 20 Mollycoddle Lane". Now NOBODY finds my flat, and in one case I saw someone at building number 1. OK fuck this, just put down "20 mollycoddle lane" and then put "ring bottom buzzer" in the delivery instructions.
I've had two drivers that either don't know to what "ring bottom buzzer" means (incredibly unlikely), or they don't read the instructions. I know Deliveroo shows it to some of them because some drivers *do* ring the correct buzzer. So third possibility is that it's not shown in some versions of the app for drivers.
