Flygon Discussion

He makes a great candidate for life orb with a lot of resists and immunities, as well as resising/being immune to stealth rock/spikes, and with feather rest he wont mind the recoil at all. I still think he can find a niche in OU as a hit and run pokemon, works good in tandem with sandstorm.
That's something else we've been forgetting. Not only does it resist Stealth Rock, it's immune to Spikes, meaning it takes crap-all switch in damage even if there's Spikes and Stealth Rock on the field at the same time, and it can just recover that with Leftovers even in a Sandstorm. That's pretty cool.

Is there anything else that can do that? Bronzong is the only other Pokemon I can think of that fits the bill.

Flygon is outclassed by Garchomp in SOME areas, but I think that spikes and earthquake immunity still give it a good chance. As said earlier, Life Orb would work much better on it than something like Garchomp.

But unlike Bronzong and Claydol, Flygon can DO something other than sit there, tank, and blow up.

LO Flygon
Timid Nature (EVs in Spd, ATK, and DEF)

Feather Rest
Fire Blast
Earthquake
Dragon Claw/Stone Edge

..nice

Deck likes Endflail concept.

Flygon @ Salac Berry
~ Endure
~ Flail
~ Dragon Claw
~ Earthquake

This is indeed quite awesome. Endure crap like AG Mence, then kill it back with Dragon Claw and screw up everything else with Flail or EQ. You'd probably have to build part of your team around it and pass it a Swords Dance (perhaps from Scizor, since Flygon resists Fire), but otherwise it can smack the crap out of a bunch of things, including Gengar which tends to screw a lot of Endflailers. It can't kill Skarm with FB or Fire Punch, so it is really much better to just focus on what it can take out. Alternatively, if you want to pass it speed instead of attack, give it Leichi Berry.

How about A-Scarf Flygon?

Flygon @ Adherence Scarf
EVs: 252 Atk/252 Spd/6 HP (or max attack, some HP, rest speed)
Nature: Adamant (Atk+/SAtk-)
- Earthquake
- Dragon Claw
- Somersault
- Stone Edge

AS Flygon will definitely catch someone off guard, and if you predict right you can 2HKO someone before they get a shot off on you (or make them switch across Spikes/SR to evade)

100 base attack IS enough to do something after the initial surprise, and even then, if Flygon can KO one or two pokemon and just damage the rest, it's done its thing. Flygon is not a power up full team sweeper and it shouldn't be treated or judged as such.

Flygon is one of my favorite Pokemon because it evolved from Trapinch! Its my new obsession Pokemon now!~ ^.^

Too bad the only things it has over Gabby are Somersalute and Wing Rest! ;-; But remember, if you want a trapper, use Trapinch. :D

Most teams I'm seeing posted don't have a Rapid Spinner so I wouldn't mind working on a team to abuse Stealth Rocks and Spikes with a Screech Flygon forcing switches or killing things. If anybody wants to help feel free to post here or send me a message.
