Formerly #1 Ranked UU Team

Well now that I have retired this team I can post it now. This has been one of my most reliable UU teams earning itself more 6-0 victories than any of my other UU teams. So I present the formerly number 1 ranked UU team:

(Aerodactyl) (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Taunt
- Rock Slide
- Earthquake
- Crunch

Aerodactyl gives me a very offensive start, being able to deal with the numerous Swellow leads and OHKO them. He also blocks Stealth Rock attempts from the likes of Claydol, then can deal decent damage with Crunch putting Claydol close to KO range. I do my best to keep him alive because Taunt can prove to be even more valuable in the mid to late game to block any attempted set ups. Aerodactyl was a star player in this team during the beginning stages of laddering taking down 2 to 3 pokemon before being ko'd himself. He is an irreplaceable asset to this team so I'm glad I made use of him before he made his way to OU.

(Weezing) (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP/252 Def/6 SAtk
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Will-o-wisp
- Sludge Bomb
- Pain Split
- Flamethrower

Weezing has been such a valuable asset to this being my primary fighting counter. Stopping scarfed fighters dead in their tracks and hitting the switch with a Will-o-Wisp or Pain Split to recover off any damage caused by a Close Combat. Flamethrower is to help deal with the wide variety of grass and bug types that are found in UU. Primarily Scyther and Leafeon who can be quite the offensive threat after a Swords Dance. The only problem I find is he often becomes set up bait for Ninetales who can sweep my team once Aerodactyl has been removed from the picture.

(Miltank) (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Scrappy
EVs: 252 HP/58 Def/200 SDef
Careful nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Curse
- Body Slam
- Heal Bell
- Milk Drink

Miltank is such a key player in this team I probably owe 50% of my wins to her. She is simply amazing after Cursing up she can take down an entire team or force the opponent into submission no problem. Thanks to her great ability her killing spree isn't going to be stopped by a pesky ghost as it will be hit hard by Body Slam as Drifblim is probably the only UU ghost not OHKO'd by a +1 Body Slam. Heal Bell is a godsend in so many games especially when I'm up against a team that utilizes pokemon like double status Rotom, not only that my Hitmontop can Rest to full hp and then I can bring in Miltank and Heal Bell away his sleep. After using Miltank she quickly became one of my favorite pokemon it's a shock to me that she isn't in the top 5 most used UU pokemon, if you have yet to use her I suggest you give her a go.

(Ninetales) (F) @ Life Orb
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 6 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Nasty Plot
- Energy Ball
- Flamethrower
- Dark Pulse

Ninetales is such an amazing pokemon hitting 880 Special Attack after a single Nasty Plot (with Life Orb factored in). Which is why I decided against using Hypnosis as most people would expect that and there are many more Rest Talkers in UU than there is in OU. Dark Pulse is in the last slot to hit Hypno and Grumpig, but it is pretty useless if Flash Fire is activated. She is also a big help in taking down those pesky Grass pokemon in Venusaur and Vileplume. She is nearly unstoppable in UU and a great addition to any UU team in need of a powerful sweeper.

(Hitmontop) (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP/252 Atk/6 Def
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Close Combat
- Rock Slide
- Sleep Talk
- Rest

Hitmontop is slightly bulkier than his kicking and punching brothers making him a much better user of Rest Talking. He fills the role of status absorber in this team and can dish out some serious damage with a Life Orbed STAB Close Combat. Rock Slide is here for Drifblim and other bulky fliers like Altaria who resist Close Combat. Pretty self explanatory set, not much else to say.

steelpurp.jpg

(Steelix) (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP/252 Def/6 SDef
Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Toxic
- Stealth Rock
- Stone Edge

Last but not least Steelix, my Stealth Rock user and counter to anything with out Super Effective or Special Attacks. Hitting an outstanding 548 Defense he stops powerful sweepers like Swellow without question. Toxic is to inflict status upon incoming threats and ruin their day. Stone Edge and Earthquake do pretty pathetic damage to say the least but it helps in some scenarios. Although he can prove useful at times he was the pokemon I always considered replacing the most. =\

Threat List:

Glaceon: Pray that it's not specs
Aerodactyl: Weezing and Miltank can easily take him down
Claydol: Not much of a threat to this team.
Rotom: Ninetales, Aerodactyl, and Miltank can all handle him pretty well although having a Choice Scarf tricked onto my Miltank is always a bitch.
Steelix: Not a threat
Ninetales: I found myself being swept by Ninetales many times I really don't have a solid answer to her regrettably.
Weezing: Not a threat
Venusaur: Not a threat
Hitmonlee: Not a threat
Hypno: Let Hitmontop absorb the sleep and bring out Ninetales or Miltank for a free set up.
Poliwrath: Weezing
Swellow: Not a threat
Absol: Steelix
Toxicroak: The Sword Dance version can be troublesome but Weezing can usually handle him.
Altaria: Not a threat
Leafeon: Can be scary after a Sword Dance but fortunately Weezing can still manage to counter it and Ninetales is always there to revenge kill.
Blastoise: Miltank usually has few problems handling him but it's not always easy to take him out. Hitmontop takes care of the utility build rather nicely.
Lanturn: Erm...
Froslass: Can be a bitch sometimes but generally runs in fear of Ninetales and Aerodactyl. On the defensive in Miltank can do okay, I miss Clefable ;_;

I'll add more threats later w/e fuck it, rmt bitch.

I don't see how you can handle Rain Dance Omastar. Easily comes on Miltank or Weezing and starts rampaging through with Surf. I also remember battling this team 3 times in a row while you were having problems with my Flareon / Steelix / Rotom combo.

As for Glaceon (pray that it's not specs - most likely will be), that's why I prefer giving Aero SR right in the start of the battle. It punishes later switch ins. Crunch is nice and all that, but you can handle Claydol anyway by using it as a stat up fodder for Miltank. This can free a move on Steelix for Roar, which is imo the only decent way to use him (252 SDef works great for revenge killing stuff with EQ that don't expect you to survive).

To be honest this team really can't, a lot of the reason that this team is being retired.

Three in a row? Fun times.

I started off using SR on Aerodactyl but I found myself usually saving him for later and Crunch proved useful when dealing with Psychics, but I can definitely see what you mean. It does fair well on many occasions but I found Crunch to be more beneficial overall. I'm not sure what wouldn't still annihilate Steelix even with 252 Sdef.

Well a team without Golduck, or a Sunny Day Vileplume (as rkatzam mentioned in my thread) could always have some trouble with Rain Dance. And they're too common now so counters must be made to stop them, as they're too common.

Which is why my new team uses Lapras among other things. I only faced one RD team on my way to the top so it has never been that big of a concern, out of sight, out of mind as they say.
