Ending thoughts:

Unfortunate for Albon. Max is a machine. Perez is a serial scammer. Pretty good drive from Lando

This grid is mental, someone's getting crashed out of the top 10 as those prancing horses come in and start trampling. Predicting a red car on the podium. Also Daniel will probably get points but also still be beaten by Yuki :totodiLUL:
Well shit, this aged poorly. At least the RB one was almost correct

What a cool race. It was just cool. Really cool. Such variable conditions over the race are always a treat. Unfortunate for Lando, I think he had that win bagged without the second Safety Car. Also RB, Haas and Williams somehow all did worse than I feel like they should've despite the fact that three top cars (Lec, Sai, Per) were all in the dumpster, creating plenty of opportunities.

Well after a dreary Monaco that was certainly one of the most exciting (if not the most) races of the year.

Shoutout to Haas for their gamble, though it ultimately didn’t pay off. Shoutouts to Albon (rip) and Alpine. Shoutout to Ricciardo for being best of the rest - only losing places to his competitors cos of that very eh penalty and Tsunoda/Ocon staying out.

Crazy stat they mentioned, Verstappen has won 50 of the last 75 races. Thats insane.

An absolutely insane piece of information is that Magnussen would have been squarely in the points had the pit lane been ready. From his team radio, he said he would have been fine to do another lap on the wets and pushed to not have a slow in lap, but he lost something like 16-20 seconds which so early in the race was the entire time he gained respective to the pack.

I also think what we're really seeing is the strengths and weaknesses of the builds coming in. I don't know if anyone saw the superimposed quali laps of Piastri and Leclerc from Monaco, but the differentiation of straights, slow corners, and medium corners was mindblowingly pronounced and we are now seeing that on tracks as we go through the season.

I for one am very excited for the Monza - Baku - Singapore being very ikely to have very different race winners.

Hulk is a beast. But honestly that whole finishing sequence was pathetic, Max repeatedly driving into Lando was dumb as hell but so was Lando immeadiately divebombing turn 3 after getting a black and white. It just all felt pointless as we waited for the stewards to decide if going straight off the the track counts as track limits but oh well. Grats to Merc, 4 teams with wins and 5 drivers, pretty cool.

God that was some fun shit to watch. Thanks Red Bull for screwing up the pit (though Norris probs still catches a few laps later).

The lead battle - what can you say? Every single thing about that was crazy in the best way. Shame that it ended the way it did and that Norris retires and Verstappen still grabs points (shoutout to Alonso for pitting and snatching his fastest lap point away - wonder if that was deliberate lol, if so he’s on a whole other level of brainplay)

Brilliant drives from both of the Haas, especially Hulkenberg. Held off Perez for so many laps and then got him back after Perez got by on the last lap - we didn’t get to see as much as I would’ve liked but we had plenty of other entertainment.

Great job from Ricciardo too, looked strong and again, was surprised he managed to hold off Gasly at the end as well as take the fight to Magnussen, great fight with Gasly and Ocon as usual but not ending in tears which is nice, Gasly authoritatively driving away from Ocon in the final stint despite pitting a lap earlier.

LeClerc just didn’t seem to have the pace after his first lap incident - perhaps there was other damage? I almost laughed when Ferrari told him they expected points, but they did end up being close.

Albon had a pretty strong outing, and Tsunoda was uncharacteristically quiet and pretty disappointing. Speaking of disappointing - Aston and Sauber. Alonso did get that lap in though so thankyou Fernando.

Yea I believe I heard something about floor damage for Leclerc. Checo also ended up with a hole in his sidepod and a piece of something flew off Ocon’s car at some point as well.

What a race, so happy Lewis got one more with Mercedes, and at Silverstone of all tracks just awesome. Red Bull with Max was damn near perfect for being seemingly the third fastest car while McLaren was the complete opposite. Its getting a little ridiculous that McLaren has had the best car on the grid for a couple of months now and has only scored a single win, it honestly feels like whenever Oscar even has a glimmer of a chance something happens that just completely shuts him down really hope he can score a win while the car is still strong. Also really bummed for Charles to gain 4 positions early on and just lose everything, only 12 points scored since Monaco (just one more than Checo), just heartbreaking.

Also this is the worst quali for Haas so far, is this the end of the early season points run for this year or do you think they will actually be able to stay in the chase for longer.

dumbass

Peak fiction again, we are on a roll here. Would’ve liked more rain but that’s every cloudy race in a nutshell. Oscar and Charles are now in a heated race for WUDC (World Unluckiest Driver Championship). Frankly my hopes aren’t super high for Hungary since that’s such a Red Bullcore track, but my hopes weren’t high for Merc today either and they just kinda stomped (RIP George, died of ligma).

Haas hate wave is over, we must start the VCARB hate wave now

Would’ve thought I’d be happier when Oscar got his first win. Nobody really wants a win like that right? Especially your first win.

But Oscar should’ve had first pick on the stops and yeah, pretty sure at the team meeting they made the decision whoever leads at the first lap etc.

Good comebacks from Perez and Russell. Verstappen just confirmed everything I’ve been saying about him recently. He’s literally become a whiny baby who cries when things don’t go his way. When your own engineer has to tell you to stop being childish in a race… wow.

Underrated drive from Tsunoda. Only driver to make a one stop work and took home 9th. Very good drive from him.

Also yeah read an article re: Ricciardo. He was ahead of Tsunoda and they pitted him so he could stay stuck behind the guys who ran softs initially. Awful strat for him, he’s extremely pissed. Probs should’ve been a 9/10 for RB with both on a one stop.

Can be easy to forget how good Verstappen is and then he pulls out a lap like that. Have fun starting 11th though, should put on some fun moves in the race. This is the race for Perez to hold on. Front row, needs to come away with the victory or get kicked out probably. Great lap from LeClerc too.

Surprising tbh. Great 1 stops by Russell and Alonso.

Perez mate seriously? Just…. seriously?

Ricciardo missing out on the points rip. So Red Bull and RB still remains murky af.

Passing was quite difficult, but yeah there some close battles.

rip Oscar’s final stop, wonder how much closer he might’ve been without that. Shoutout to the front jack guy again.

Haven't done these yet, here's my mid season ranking, I don't really like ranking between car differences and such so I just separated the top half and the bottom half of the good drivers, they're all A to B tier anyways (idt there has been an S this year). Bad drivers transcend car strength tho. I honestly believe the vast majority of drivers are having genuinely good seasons and that the skill gaps aren't really that big at the moment. However, at the same time every single one of the top drivers has had ugly and/or unfortunate moments, so while I do still think Max and Lewis are still the best overall, every other person I put in 3rd felt wrong in their own way so idk, I could see the overall order of the top 7 going any which way as no one is spotless this year (expect Nico).

I also don't know how to rank Bottas this year, 6 tenths ahead of Zhou is absurd, especially considering how Zhou was pretty good at quali the past two years. But yea, nothing he does matters unfortunately. Also wasn't sure if I should Alonso on the good car tier, bad car tier, or just his own tier in the middle. He's still good and comfortably beating Lance but the spark from last year seems gone, hopefully he gets blessed in 2026. I also don't know why the image is so low res but whatever.

Another Aussie in F1!

If Ricciardo remains next year it will be only the second time we’ve had 3 Aussies on the grid. (happened once before, at the 1976 US GP, Alan Jones, Larry Perkins, Wawrick Brown)

Great, great stuff from Norris. LeClerc too with a fantastic race. Big shoutouts also to Gasly and Hulkenberg. Solid stuff from Ricciardo.

It won’t get noticed much at all but a really good race from Sargeant. Held off both Tsunoda and Magnussen, both on fresher tyres, for a long long period of the race. Albon without the qualifying DQ would’ve scored points for sure I’m thinking.

I know Sargeant rightly cops a lot of flack but the most disappointing driver for me this season has been Zhou easily. It hasn’t been as noticeable as say Perez or Sargeant because Sauber have been so damn awful, but he is consistently ridiculously off Bottas’ pace by some margin, which is kinda out of nowhere compared to last season.
