Frequently Rejected Suggestions

I think it would be a good idea if we had a Frequently Rejected Suggestions thread in this forum, for the ideas that people (usually but not necessarily newcomers) regularly post and have been rejected many times before.

The first one that springs to mind is the introductions thread / forum.

Perhaps it could be rolled in to the In The Works thread.
 
I wrote this up a while ago as a rewrite of the existing guidelines for this forum (which includes exactly this), and showed a few people (smods) on IS, but did not get many suggestions and did not want to pester admins about it.
 
eric the espeon, your guide is excellent. I agree that something like this would be desirable. I would add to the list a further clarification of the warning against Shoddy suggestions: especially do not suggest Shoddy for a new platform, such as Facebook or iPhone. I feel like this comes up on here once a month or so. I would also warn against suggestions of chat functions other than irc and Shoddy chat, which people also seem to suggest a lot.
 
There are a couple of problems though: mainly, new players tend not to read the rules anyway and so it may end up ineffective.
 
Then you tell them to read the rules when you lock the thread, they don't do it again (or get infracted). Better to have rules than not, just because not everyone reads them.

I agree entirely with eric. I would love to see these implemented (though I have a few nitpicks, those can be dealt with at a later date =]). IMO it's worth asking smods/admins again to take a look at this.
