Froakie (QC 3/3)

im hearing an argument for thief, but not why rock slide is better than hpump
 
Oh I am definitely not arguing for rock slide. After using the physical set more, it's kind of lackluster. I do enjoy having the STAB acrobatics though.
 
I'm not against adding a physical set, but right now I don't see any benefits to running it over any of the current three sets. The LO, Scarf, and Mixed sets each have their own strengths and play very differently from each other, while a physical set plays very similarly to the Mixed set (basically no Hydro Pump/HP Grass). I guess my question is this: Does a pure physical set provide any significant benefit over the other three sets (mainly the Mixed Attacker), and in which situations is this set favorable?

Not really. Its pretty gimmicky

mention things that can switch into priority moves from timburr/gunk/tite, especially if froakie is ice-type at the time. larvesta is a good option there'll be a few other things...

CHOICE SCARF:

USAGE TIPS:
what can scarf froakie hit that a LO Froakie wouldn't? mention it outspeeding other scarfers (chinchou, mienfoo), also outspeeding ponyta and staryu which is pretty cool.

TEAM OPTIONS:
again, mention things that can take priority, since froakie is frail

I'd remove thief. you risk losing your 110power acrobatics and STAB SE thief doesn't hit an awful lot harder than STAB hydro or acro

again froakie hates priority from anything, particularly if you last used sub/quick attack.

C&C:
mention specific special walls. I know tenta doesn't care about anything but hp ground, licki and munch probs take nothing from it's attacks.

anything faster. scarfers, 18 or 19 speeders. missy, gastly, krow, ponyta (if hpump wasn't the last used move), staryu, scarf anything.

Thief kinda contradicts Acrobatics. Also, by going itemless, you let them know it's a Physical set.
No, it gives you options. You can either steal an item or have a STAB itemless Acrobatics right off the bat. You're not going to steal an item and then spam Acrobatics. You can run mixed because Protean gives you STAB on everything anyway, and knowing it has physical moves doesn't make it easy to capitalize on because Froakie has U-turn. It's not like knowing that Mienfoo commonly runs Knock Off and Fake Out gives a player an edge, it's still going to do its job.
