Froslass's high Speed tier, fantastic offensive typing, and access to strong STAB moves in Poltergeist and Triple Axel make Froslass a formidable wallbreaker. Ice Shard allows Froslass to pick off weakened faster offensive threats such as Cinccino and Choice Scarf Rotom. Froslass can instead opt for Trick to cripple physically defensive switch-ins such as Miltank and Pyukumuku. Froslass is also able to take advantage of the switches it forces in order to set Spikes, weakening its checks while simultaneously supporting its teammates.

While Froslass is difficult to switch into, Froslass's poor bulk leaves it susceptible to revenge killers such as Cinccino, Kangaskan, and Alolan Persian which limits its offensive prowess. Bulky pivots such as Uxie, Wishiwashi, Rotom-S, and Alolan Persian are appreciated partners, bringing Froslass onto the field safely since its poor bulk and defensive typing award it few direct switch-in opportunities. Additional entry hazard setters such as Toxic Spikes Qwilfish and Stealth Rock Ferroseed make for good teammates, as entry hazards can bring certain Pokemon such Alcremie in range of a KO. Additionally, these two can cripple faster threats with Thunder Wave and whittle them down with Rocky Helmet and Iron Barbs respectively. Late-game cleaners such as Choice Scarf Sawk and Swords Dance Silvally-Ground appreciate Froslass breaking down the likes of Uxie and Altaria. In return, Choice Scarf Sawk can threaten faster offensive threats such as Cinccino that give Froslass trouble. Tangela can repeatedly switch into the likes of Kangaskan and Cinccino for Froslass and cripple them with status and Knock Off

Froslass is an effective suicide lead for offensive teams thanks to its typing and Speed allowing it to pressure common Defog users such as Rotom-S and Altaria. Taunt prevents opposing Pokemon such as Qwilfish from setting up entry hazards or crippling it with status. Additionally, Taunt can prevent entry hazard removal and recovery from the likes of Articuno and Cramorant. Destiny Bond allows Froslass to take down attackers such as Centiskorch and Basculin down with it once it has been weakened.

Froslass works best on offensive teams that appreciate its ability to reliably set Spikes and pressure common Defoggers. Setup sweepers such as Shiftry, Skuntank, and Silvally-Dark appreciate Spikes support bringing foes into range of a KO. Additionally, wallbreakers such as Sawk and Kangaskan can take advantage of Spikes with the switches they force. VoltTurn cores consisting of Pokemon like Cinccino, Rotom-S, and Silvally-Ground appreciate Spikes and apply constant offensive pressure to prevent hazard removal from the likes of Articuno and Rotom-S. Alolan Persian is an appreciated partner, able to cripple Heavy-Duty Boots users with Knock Off and prevent entry hazard removal with Taunt. Alcremie and Skuntank are able to pressure opposing Alolan Persian, which annoys Froslass with its fast Taunt.

Icicle Crash can be used instead of Triple Axel, having better accuracy at the cost of power. A more defensive spread running a spread of 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 Speed with utilizing Heavy-Duty Boots could be used to give Froslass more longevity though it struggles to be effective due to Froslass's poor bulk and defensive typing. Will-O-Wisp cripples physical attackers such as Kangaskan and Sawk. Hex in combination with Will-O-Wisp gives Froslass a 130 Base Power STAB move, allowing it to better handle Ice-type resistant Pokemon like Qwilfish and Piloswine. Thunder Wave is another utility option that allows Froslass to cripple offensive threats such as Swoobat that do not mind Will-O-Wisp.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Alolan Persian**: Alolan Persian is one of Froslass's most prevalent checks, comfortably switching into Poltergeist and threatening to OHKO Choice Band Froslass with Foul Play. Alolan Persian also outspeeds Froslass and can use Taunt to prevent it from setting up its Spikes.

**Physically Defensive Walls**: Physically defensive walls such as Miltank and Pyukumuku are able to withstand Choice Band Froslass's attacks and force it out. Miltank in particular easy walls Froslass as it is immune to Poltergeist and resists Triple Axel thanks to Thick Fat. Additionally, Rocky Helmet users such as Garbodor and Qwilfish can punish the use of Triple Axel. However, none of these walls are able to handle its lead set as they are crippled by Taunt.

**Faster Pokemon**: While unable to switch in directly, faster offensive threats such as Cinccino, Choice Scarf Sawk, and Choice Scarf Rotom are easily able to revenge kill Froslass due to its poor bulk. Froslass needs to be wary of Cinccino in particular as it is able to bypass its Focus Sash with Rock Blast.

Setup sweepers such as Shiftry, Skuntank, and Silvally-Dark appreciate Spikes support bringing foes into KO range of a KO. Additionally,(RC) Wallbreakers(capitalize) such as Sawk and Kangaskan can take advantage of Spikes with the switches they force. VoltTurn cores consisting of Pokemon like Cinccino, Rotom-S, and Silvally-Ground appreciate Spikes and apply constant offensive pressure to prevent entry hazard removal from the likes of foes like Articuno and Rotom-S. Alolan Persian is an appreciated partner, able to cripple Heavy-Duty Boots users with Knock Off and prevent entry hazard removal with Taunt. Alolan Persian is a great partner that is able to cripple Heavy-Duty Boots users with Knock Off and prevent entry hazard removal with Taunt. Alcremie and Skuntank are able to pressure opposing Alolan Persian, which annoys Froslass with its fast Taunt.

Other Options
=============

Icicle Crash can be used instead of Triple Axel,(RC) having for better accuracy at the cost of power.(more of a qc thing, but u should mention that it doesn't make contact too) A more defensive spread running a spread of 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 Speed Spe with utilizing Heavy-Duty Boots could be used to gives Froslass more longevity,(AC) though it struggles to be effective due to Froslass's its poor bulk and defensive typing. Will-O-Wisp cripples physical attackers such as Kangaskan and Sawk. Hex in combination with Will-O-Wisp gives Froslass a 130 Base Power STAB move, allowing it to better handle Ice-type resistant Ice-resistant Pokemon like Qwilfish and Piloswine. Thunder Wave is another utility option that allows Froslass to cripple offensive threats such as Swoobat,(AC) that which do not mind Will-O-Wisp.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Alolan Persian**: Alolan Persian is one of Froslass's most prevalent checks, comfortably switching into Poltergeist and threatening to OHKO Choice Band Froslass it with Foul Play.

In particular,(AC) Miltank in particular easy walls Froslass,(AC) as it is immune to Poltergeist and resists tanks Triple Axel thanks to Thick Fat.(It doesn't technically "resist" it) Additionally,(RC) Rocky Helmet users such as Garbodor and Qwilfish can punish the use of Triple Axel. However, none of these walls are able to handle its Froslass's lead set,(AC) as they are crippled by Taunt.

**Faster Pokemon**: While unable to switch in directly, faster offensive threats such as Cinccino, Choice Scarf Sawk, and Choice Scarf Rotom are easily able to revenge kill Froslass due to its poor bulk. Froslass needs to be wary of Cinccino in particular,(AC) as it is able to bypass its Froslass's Focus Sash with Rock Blast.
