Froslass is one of the many viable leads of RU due to its good Speed stat and access to Spikes and Taunt. Froslass can be powerful against slower teams, as they may have trouble stopping it from setting Spikes. Spikes allows offensive teammates, such as Bisharp and Armarouge, to more easily break through slower Pokemon like Hippowdon, Empoleon, and Hisuian Goodra. 100 Attack EVs let Froslass OHKO Cyclizar with Triple Axel or Avalanche. Avalanche works best with Destiny Bond, allowing Froslass to attack with negative priority the turn after using Destiny Bond to force a slower threat to hit it while Destiny Bond is still active; however, Avalanche's negative priority means it is easier to deal direct damage when using Triple Axel. Will-O-Wisp is useful to cripple opponents who may want to lead against it such as Barraskewda, Mamoswine, and Bisharp. Destiny Bond allows Froslass to trade with threats that would otherwise ignore Will-O-Wisp and Triple-Axel such as Volcanion, Empoleon, and Hisuian Goodra and works best alongside Avalanche. Taunt is a powerful tool to stop slower foes such as Empoleon and Krookodile from setting entry hazards and deny setup moves from threats such as Bisharp and Armarouge. Tera Steel is chosen to help against foes such as Kleavor and Terrakion; however, Terastallizing Froslass instead of other teammates should not be necessary outside of emergencies because it doesn't mind getting KOed early.
As a dedicated lead, Froslass fits exclusively on hyper offense teams, which benefit the most from dedicating a slot to reliably setting entry hazards while stopping the opponent from placing their own. As Spikes can be easily removed, a spinblocker such as Mimikyu or Colbur Berry Golurk can prove useful, with the latter also helping stack even more hazards for further chip damage. Specially offensive teammates such as Armarouge and Hisuian Zoroark can come in for free on Galarian Weezing's Defog and take advantage of Spikes to better deal with special walls such as Hisuian Goodra and Empoleon. Hisuian Zoroark in particular can effectively bait in Galarian Weezing with its Illusion ability if disguised as a physically offensive teammate, further helping teammates while giving Galarian Weezing fewer opportunities to use Defog. Bisharp works well to punish Defog, but its weakness to Will-O-Wisp can make switching in on Talonflame and Galarian Weezing dangerous. Pokemon such as Salamence, Hisuian Zoroark, and Armarouge that would normally run Heavy-Duty Boots also benefit greatly from Froslass denying the opponent from setting up Stealth Rock, as it allows them to run items such as Lum Berry, Throat Spray, and Weakness Policy, respectively.
