Welcome one and all to the FU Replays thread. Here is where we're going to post replays demonstrating not only great battles you've had between friends, but tournament battles from the subforum you feel people can learn from by watching.

What kind of replays should be posted here?
  • Battles in which display a particular playstyle really well.
  • Battles in which show (good) new and creative sets off.
  • Battles that don't include completely inviable Pokemon as a joke.
If you do post a battle, remember to add some information about the team(s) involved, and a little bit of a summary of what the battle entailed and some clarification about key points in the match (turns you really had to think - explain what you did and why). This thread will be overseen by Mambo and me, if we feel like your replay doesn't fit the above criteria, your post will be deleted.

I'll start off, this was a game i had vs Sunflora is bae http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/pu-248939298

Sunflora and I were both using Bulky Offense teams, the best playstyle in FU at the moment. My team has a hyperoffense side to it as well as i have a hazard lead in Venipede and the goal is to keep those hazards up while racking up residual damage so one of my sweepers can sweep in the end.

When i saw his team i knew that i needed to weaken his Electabuzz, because as soon as it was weakened either Golduck or Klang could plow through his team.
I led with my Venipede because i wanted to get up a Toxic Spike as soon as possible while my opponent leads with his Electabuzz. He lets his Electabuzz get weakened by my Venipede's Endeavor and didnt manage to Defog with Vullaby because of my Taunt Krokorok. I choke a bit with Gourgeist on turn 9 by not going into Krokorok, but it doesn't matter much since Klang has the game pretty much clutched because it now gets an easy setup on Specs Vanilluxe with Shift Gear and proceeds to sweep the opposition creating a comeback from 4-6 to 4-0.

I feel like Klang is a heavily underrated mon even after the Clef Fraxure meta, and I don't get why I don't see it being used more. Hope to see it get more usage because its one of the best conservative sweepers in the tier!

This replay was during the previous meta where Lapras and friends were allowed, but it still does a very good job showcasing how underrated Gourgeist-Small is. Especially now that it lost two very solid checks in Cuno and Flareon, it's a lot easier for Gourgeist-S to come in and be a douche bag. Its Speed tier is just very annoying to deal with, and it has solid enough bulk to take lots of hits too. Mambo never fails being weak to it. I'm using SubSeed with Phantom Force over Protect so it can be a bit more pressuring.

Also here's a replay of my getting boped by a Slaking. Although overall Slaking is a pretty subpar Pokemon, it can still be effective when played well, and Stef demonstrated that quite successfully. Healing Wish is a very rare move in this tier, but it's so good that using something mediocre like Cherrim is worth it. I made like absolutely no plays in this match but still I'm posting it because it just goes to show how even Slaking can be good in this tier.

I've started playing FU again recently, and I've been trying to get stall to work in this new meta. It's very difficult to build in this tier because users of crucial moves like heal bell are very limited (notice how PU just took 3 of them in the last shift...), especially users that also contribute to walling the tier's powerful offensive threats. With this the widespread usage of knock off as coverage limits the nfe pokemon that can wall certain offensive threats, further increasing difficulty in teambuilding. I've managed to get a functioning stall team together though and I'll drop a few replays to demonstrate some of the mons in it.

This replay mainly showcases Gourgeist-Large and Floette. Gourgeist is a pretty solid simisage answer and also an answer to other problematic mons like raticate and klang. Here it beats a resttalk klang and walls the team after butterfree and simisear are removed, and also punishes the simisear switchin with foul play. Floette meanwhile demonstrates its advantage over Spritzee in its 1-turn recovery in synthesis, which allows it to run a decent calm mind set and deal with butterfree after vullaby is critted.

Here Furfrou's insane bulk is shown off, comfortably stomaching band returns from slaking. Also Vullaby eating up 4 crits in a row.

Furfrou walls an entire team basically, gobbling up +1 life orb poison jabs from Seviper while also outspeeding 5/6 mons on the team. Once hazards are up its pretty much gg but an unfortunate drop + bad sleep roll lets purugly sweep.

So yeah, stall isn't an amazing playstyle because it's really quite limited, but its certainly viable.
