So I've been thinking about Regigigas and his multiple issues a bit, mostly because of the event Regigigas that recently got released. I figure the best way to make Regi useful is in the 2v2 arena, but I think we can do one better than just "useful".
Jirachi @Leftovers
Bold, Serene Grace
252 HP, 80 Def, 176 Sp Def
-Thunderbolt
-Wish
-Thunder Wave
-Skill Swap
I know this looks a little goofy, but wait'll you see the second lead.
Regigigas @Expert Belt
Jolly, Slow Start
252 Atk, 252 Spd, 6 HP
-Return
-Fire Punch
-Rock Slide
-Thunder Wave
Here's how this team's lead works - Turn one, Jirachi uses Skill Swap. Regigigas uses Rock Slide. Since Regi is slower on turn one, it'll use a Rock Slide with Serene Grace behind it - 60% chance to flinch both foes, plus Regi's full 160 Atk. If one or both foes are likely to outspeed him, Thunder Wave instead, to bring one of them within range. Turn two, Jirachi uses Thunder Wave on the other foe, while Regi Rock Slides again, this time with full Spd behind it.
For Jirachi's moveset, Thunderbolt is being used over Psychic to deal with Taunt Pokemon like Aerodactyl and Gyarados. You've already seen how Thunder Wave and Skill Swap work, while Wish is mainly filler. On Regi, Fire Punch is there to keep him from getting walled by Steels. He still has a problem with Garchomp, which isn't good, but Bronzong is more of a threat.
Cresselia @Leftovers
Bold, Levitate
252 HP, 108 Def, 148 Sp Def
-Psychic
-Moonlight
-Skill Swap
-Protect / Ice Beam
If the foe is likely to cause havoc with Earthquake or Eruption, Cresselia can switch in for Jirachi. Skill Swap gives Regi Levitate instead of Serene Grace, which isn't as good, but makes him stronger against Garchomp.
Psychic for STAB, Moonlight works well with Exeggutor's Sunny Day, and Skill Swap for support. Protect is, of course, filler, but I'm considering replacing it with Ice Beam to take out 'Chomps.
Heatran @Life Orb
Modest, Flash Fire
252 Sp Atk, 252 Spd, 6 HP
-Lava Plume
-Fire Blast
-Dragon Pulse
-Earth Power
One of the team's main offensive forces. Skill Swap from Cresselia gets Heatran Levitate, not a bad ability at all for something 4x weak to Ground. Skill Swap from Jirachi gets it Serene Grace, allowing it to reliably burn foes with a great deal of reliability. Skill Swap from Exeggutor gets it Chlorophyll, netting it a huge Spd and powerful STAB attacks in the sun. I considered using Choice Specs, but I don't like not being able to switch moves in 2v2, since switching out is such a pain.
Exeggutor @Heat Rock
Modest, Chlorophyll
252 HP, 252 Sp Atk, 6 Def
-Solarbeam
-Hidden Power Fire
-Sunny Day
-Skill Swap
Exeggutor works best with Heatran, swapping Chlorophyll for Flash Fire. Exeggutor loses its Fire weakness and gains a bonus to HP Fire, while Heatran gets some extra speed. It'll also work with Regi, giving the big guy a huge bonus to its Speed. Exeggutor also helps me counter weather teams, especially Rain Dance.
I had to swap the EVs around a bit for more durability, since Skill Swap deprives it of Chlorophyll. I'd welcome any suggestions for a different EV spread or Nature though, since I'm not too certain on this.
Salamence @Choice Band
Adamant, Intimidate
252 Atk, 252 Spd, 6 HP
-Dragon Claw
-Crunch
-Rock Slide
-Earthquake
Switched this in for Weavile, after I noticed that all of my major offensive Pokemon were weak to Fighting. Definitely not a good idea with all the Machamps running around. Salamence also gets Rock Slide to make use of Serene Grace with, and doesn't mind Chlorophyll from Exeggutor at all. Levitate is kind of pointless for it, but eh.
