[Overview]

With lower Attack, Speed, and no usable ability, Furret is almost directly outclassed by fellow rodent Raticate in NU. It does have one major thing going for it, and that being a better movepool, which is saying something considering Raticate's movepool isn't exactly lacking. Featuring neat options such as Focus Punch, Surf, and Trick, Furret can get the jump on a few Pokemon that Raticate has trouble with. Just be aware, however, that unless these moves actually come into play, you'll end up playing with what's essentially a worse Raticate.

[SET]
name: Choice Band
move 1: Double-Edge
move 2: Shadow Ball
move 3: Focus Punch
move 4: Trick
item: Choice Band
ability: Keen Eye
nature: Jolly
evs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
- Double-Edge is powerful STAB and gets great coverage with Shadow Ball and Focus Punch
- Focus Punch requires really good prediction to get the most out of it, but can really put the hurt on Mawile and even Relicanth, something CB Raticate can only dream of
- Trick can completely ruin Sableye and other defensive mons like Wailord

[ADDITIONAL SET COMMENTS]
- Jolly needed to outpace Seadra and Speed tie with Vigoroth and Venomoth
- Brick Break an option over Focus Punch but FP is a major selling point of Furret over Raticate
- Surf obliterates Graveler, Flamethrower can deal a decent amount to Mawile and Metang
- Quick Attack also an option in the last slot if desired
- Same teammates as Raticate but Furret's lower Speed mean it can't clean as easily since it's outsped by Haunter and Plusle and only Speed ties Vigoroth and Pikachu

[Other Options]
- Hidden Power Grass
- SubPunch
- Sub + Reversal
- Sunny Day or Rain Dance support
- Dynamic Punch

[Checks and Counters]
- Relicanth
- Mawile and Metang
- Sableye
- Physically defensive Wailord and Pelipper
- Haunter
