This'll send chills down your spine....
DNA Donors: Cryogonal + Vivillon
Offspring Name: Cryovillon
New typing: Ice/Bug
New base stats: 75/51/40/112/92/117 (+20 SpA, +20 Spe) (487 BST)
New Ability + description: Levitate + Compound Eyes = Floating Eyes (The bearer is immune to Ground moves, and the accuracy on its moves is multiplied by 1.3)
Notable moves: Quiver Dance, Sleep Powder, Blizzard, Bug Buzz, Freeze-Dry, Hidden Power, Water Pulse, U-turn, Rapid Spin, Recover, dual screens
Role identification: Just taking a glance at Cryovillon, it seems pretty bad, right? It's got bad defenses, an awful defensive typing, and few move options. What makes Cryovillon viable is its access to Quiver Dance. Combine this with a 91% accurate Blizzard, and you've got a threatening snowflake butterfly sweeper on your hands. Bug is by no means the best offensive typing to pair with Ice, but it helps you get past Psychic- and Dark-types, which I guess is something. Unfortunately, if you want coverage against Fire- and Steel-types, you're going to have to run HP Ground (only Hidden Power that hits both super-effectively).
Attack of the demonic hydra dinosaur!
Parents: Tyrantrum + Hydreigon
Shared Egg Group: Dragon
Offspring Name: Tyraneigon
New typing: Rock/Dark
New base stats: 97/123/114/107/84/94 (619 BST)
New Ability + description: Levitate + Strong Jaw = Levitation Jaw (The bearer is immune to Ground moves; being hit by one will increase the power of its bite-based moves by 1.5X)
Notable moves: Dragon Dance, Stone Edge, Crunch, Earthquake, Iron Head, the elemental fangs, Zen Headbutt, U-turn, Aqua Tail, Rock Polish, Superpower, Head Smash, Work Up, Ancient Power, Dark Pulse, Fire Blast, Earth Power, Stealth Rock, Roost, Taunt, Thunder Wave, Roar
Role identification: Well, damn. This has a lot it can do, and can do all of it very well. You can go for Dragon Dance, Choice Scarf, offensive Stealth Rock, even mixed with Work Up, although that last is probably little more than a gimmick. Combine this with access to Roost, and it's more like asking what this thing can't do. Oh, yeah, also, don't throw Ground moves at it. I guarantee you that that won't end well, unless your idea of things ending well is taking a 180 BP (after STAB) Crunch. Rock/Dark is still a pretty bad defensive typing, though, and its Special Defense is rather lacking.
Maybe the wrestler name for this guy could be "Alola's Thunderbolt"?
Parents: Electivire + Hawlucha
Shared Egg Group: Human-Like
Offspring Name: Eluchavire
New typing: Electric/Fighting
New base stats: 86/117/81/94/84/116 (578 BST)
New Ability + description: Motor Drive + Unburden = Greased Lightning (If the bearer is hit by an Electric move, its Speed is doubled; Electric immunity)
Notable moves: Swords Dance, Thunder Punch, High Jump Kick, Ice Punch, Earthquake, Fire Punch, Stone Edge, Poison Jab, X-Scissor, Zen Headbutt, Substitute, Baton Pass, Volt Switch, Thunderbolt, Focus Blast, Flamethrower, Grass Knot, Psychic, Roost
Role identification: Have you ever wished that Electivire got Swords Dance? Well, now you can stop wishing! Overall, this is like a weaker, faster, and bulkier Electivire with a secondary Fighting typing and a straight-up upgrade to Motor Drive. Greased Lightning essentially gives you an Agility boost upon being hit by an Electric-type move, letting you run Double Dance sets with only one boosting move. Like vanilla Electivire, Eluchavire can go mixed. All in all, Alola's Thunderbolt is a pretty cool 'mon.
The solar dragon warrior shall be your opponent.
Parents: Tropius + Haxorus
Shared Egg Group: Monster
Offspring Name: Troxorius
New typing: Grass/Dragon
New base stats: 98/118/97/76/89/84 (562 BST)
New Ability + description: Solar Power + Rivalry = Solar Warrior (If Sunny Day is active, the bearer's moves do 1.5X damage; if any other weather is active, the bearer's moves do 0.75X damage)
Notable moves: Dragon Dance, Leaf Blade, Dragon Claw, Earthquake, Poison Jab, Low Kick, X-Scissor, Rock Slide, Night Slash, Natural Gift, Synthesis
Role identification: A Dragon that likes the sun. If you can manage to get a Dragon Dance up when you're in sunlight, count on things getting demolished. Natural Gift is interesting, because you can get a one-use coverage move of any type you want (including a 100 BP physical Fire move boosted by Sunny Day and Troxorius' Ability!). However, more consistent attacking options will likely be preferred.
Galaxy turtles, turtles all the way down.
DNA Donors: Starmie + Carracosta
Offspring Name: Starcosta
New typing: Water/Psychic
New base stats: 70/101/109/101/75/90 (+3 HP, +10 Atk, +10 SpA, +17 Spe) (546 BST)
New Ability + description: Natural Cure + Solid Rock = Natural Solidity (The bearer receives 1/2 damage from super-effective attacks unless it is afflicted by a status condition)
Notable moves: Shell Smash, Hydro Pump, Psychic, Ice Beam, Thunderbolt, Earth Power, Grass Knot, Dazzling Gleam, Focus Blast, Scald, Psyshock, Signal Beam, Power Gem, Aqua Jet, Waterfall, Zen Headbutt, Earthquake, Knock Off, Low Kick, Stone Edge, Stealth Rock, Recover, dual screens, Rapid Spin
Role identification: You've got a pretty ridiculous move-pool, including Shell Smash and lots of move options on both sides of the attacking spectrum, both Stealth Rock and Rapid Spin, and Recover for reliable recovery. Here's a fun bit of trivia for you: Carracosta is the only Pokemon that gets both Shell Smash and Zen Headbutt. Your Ability helps you with setting up Rocks or a Smash, but Starcosta hates all kinds of status, so bring a Heal Bell/Aromatherapy user.
The premier mixed attacker.
Parents: Glaceon + Mienshao
Shared Egg Group: Field
Offspring Name: Glacenshao
New typing: Ice/Fighting
New base stats: 75/102/95/122/87/95 (576 BST)
New Ability + description: Snow Cloak + Regenerator = Healing Snow (If Hail is active, the bearer's evasiveness is 1.25X and it regenerates 1/6 of its maximum HP every round; immunity to Hail)
Notable moves: Calm Mind, Ice Beam, Aura Sphere, Grass Knot, Shadow Ball, Blizzard, Ice Shard, Swords Dance, High Jump Kick, Ice Fang, Knock Off, Stone Edge, Poison Jab, U-turn, Baton Pass, Work Up
Role identification: While this can go fully special, you can go mixed with it. In hail, you can run Blizzard/HJK/KOff/Ice Shard or something like that. Of course, you can just run all physical or all special, but if you aren't running Scarf, you'll want Ice Shard for priority. You also get Baton Pass/U-turn for momentum.
