Fusion Evolution V2 (Submission Phase)

Welp, rip in potatoes half of my fusions. It's cool though, I'll just have to innovate harder!

This'll send chills down your spine....

DNA Donors: Cryogonal + Vivillon
Offspring Name: Cryovillon
New typing: Ice/Bug
New base stats: 75/51/40/112/92/117 (+20 SpA, +20 Spe) (487 BST)
New Ability + description: Levitate + Compound Eyes = Floating Eyes (The bearer is immune to Ground moves, and the accuracy on its moves is multiplied by 1.3)
Notable moves: Quiver Dance, Sleep Powder, Blizzard, Bug Buzz, Freeze-Dry, Hidden Power, Water Pulse, U-turn, Rapid Spin, Recover, dual screens
Role identification: Just taking a glance at Cryovillon, it seems pretty bad, right? It's got bad defenses, an awful defensive typing, and few move options. What makes Cryovillon viable is its access to Quiver Dance. Combine this with a 91% accurate Blizzard, and you've got a threatening snowflake butterfly sweeper on your hands. Bug is by no means the best offensive typing to pair with Ice, but it helps you get past Psychic- and Dark-types, which I guess is something. Unfortunately, if you want coverage against Fire- and Steel-types, you're going to have to run HP Ground (only Hidden Power that hits both super-effectively).

Attack of the demonic hydra dinosaur!

Parents: Tyrantrum + Hydreigon
Shared Egg Group: Dragon
Offspring Name: Tyraneigon
New typing: Rock/Dark
New base stats: 97/123/114/107/84/94 (619 BST)
New Ability + description: Levitate + Strong Jaw = Levitation Jaw (The bearer is immune to Ground moves; being hit by one will increase the power of its bite-based moves by 1.5X)
Notable moves: Dragon Dance, Stone Edge, Crunch, Earthquake, Iron Head, the elemental fangs, Zen Headbutt, U-turn, Aqua Tail, Rock Polish, Superpower, Head Smash, Work Up, Ancient Power, Dark Pulse, Fire Blast, Earth Power, Stealth Rock, Roost, Taunt, Thunder Wave, Roar
Role identification: Well, damn. This has a lot it can do, and can do all of it very well. You can go for Dragon Dance, Choice Scarf, offensive Stealth Rock, even mixed with Work Up, although that last is probably little more than a gimmick. Combine this with access to Roost, and it's more like asking what this thing can't do. Oh, yeah, also, don't throw Ground moves at it. I guarantee you that that won't end well, unless your idea of things ending well is taking a 180 BP (after STAB) Crunch. Rock/Dark is still a pretty bad defensive typing, though, and its Special Defense is rather lacking.

Maybe the wrestler name for this guy could be "Alola's Thunderbolt"?

Parents: Electivire + Hawlucha
Shared Egg Group: Human-Like
Offspring Name: Eluchavire
New typing: Electric/Fighting
New base stats: 86/117/81/94/84/116 (578 BST)
New Ability + description: Motor Drive + Unburden = Greased Lightning (If the bearer is hit by an Electric move, its Speed is doubled; Electric immunity)
Notable moves: Swords Dance, Thunder Punch, High Jump Kick, Ice Punch, Earthquake, Fire Punch, Stone Edge, Poison Jab, X-Scissor, Zen Headbutt, Substitute, Baton Pass, Volt Switch, Thunderbolt, Focus Blast, Flamethrower, Grass Knot, Psychic, Roost
Role identification: Have you ever wished that Electivire got Swords Dance? Well, now you can stop wishing! Overall, this is like a weaker, faster, and bulkier Electivire with a secondary Fighting typing and a straight-up upgrade to Motor Drive. Greased Lightning essentially gives you an Agility boost upon being hit by an Electric-type move, letting you run Double Dance sets with only one boosting move. Like vanilla Electivire, Eluchavire can go mixed. All in all, Alola's Thunderbolt is a pretty cool 'mon.

The solar dragon warrior shall be your opponent.

Parents: Tropius + Haxorus
Shared Egg Group: Monster
Offspring Name: Troxorius
New typing: Grass/Dragon
New base stats: 98/118/97/76/89/84 (562 BST)
New Ability + description: Solar Power + Rivalry = Solar Warrior (If Sunny Day is active, the bearer's moves do 1.5X damage; if any other weather is active, the bearer's moves do 0.75X damage)
Notable moves: Dragon Dance, Leaf Blade, Dragon Claw, Earthquake, Poison Jab, Low Kick, X-Scissor, Rock Slide, Night Slash, Natural Gift, Synthesis
Role identification: A Dragon that likes the sun. If you can manage to get a Dragon Dance up when you're in sunlight, count on things getting demolished. Natural Gift is interesting, because you can get a one-use coverage move of any type you want (including a 100 BP physical Fire move boosted by Sunny Day and Troxorius' Ability!). However, more consistent attacking options will likely be preferred.

Galaxy turtles, turtles all the way down.

DNA Donors: Starmie + Carracosta
Offspring Name: Starcosta
New typing: Water/Psychic
New base stats: 70/101/109/101/75/90 (+3 HP, +10 Atk, +10 SpA, +17 Spe) (546 BST)
New Ability + description: Natural Cure + Solid Rock = Natural Solidity (The bearer receives 1/2 damage from super-effective attacks unless it is afflicted by a status condition)
Notable moves: Shell Smash, Hydro Pump, Psychic, Ice Beam, Thunderbolt, Earth Power, Grass Knot, Dazzling Gleam, Focus Blast, Scald, Psyshock, Signal Beam, Power Gem, Aqua Jet, Waterfall, Zen Headbutt, Earthquake, Knock Off, Low Kick, Stone Edge, Stealth Rock, Recover, dual screens, Rapid Spin
Role identification: You've got a pretty ridiculous move-pool, including Shell Smash and lots of move options on both sides of the attacking spectrum, both Stealth Rock and Rapid Spin, and Recover for reliable recovery. Here's a fun bit of trivia for you: Carracosta is the only Pokemon that gets both Shell Smash and Zen Headbutt. Your Ability helps you with setting up Rocks or a Smash, but Starcosta hates all kinds of status, so bring a Heal Bell/Aromatherapy user.

The premier mixed attacker.

Parents: Glaceon + Mienshao
Shared Egg Group: Field
Offspring Name: Glacenshao
New typing: Ice/Fighting
New base stats: 75/102/95/122/87/95 (576 BST)
New Ability + description: Snow Cloak + Regenerator = Healing Snow (If Hail is active, the bearer's evasiveness is 1.25X and it regenerates 1/6 of its maximum HP every round; immunity to Hail)
Notable moves: Calm Mind, Ice Beam, Aura Sphere, Grass Knot, Shadow Ball, Blizzard, Ice Shard, Swords Dance, High Jump Kick, Ice Fang, Knock Off, Stone Edge, Poison Jab, U-turn, Baton Pass, Work Up
Role identification: While this can go fully special, you can go mixed with it. In hail, you can run Blizzard/HJK/KOff/Ice Shard or something like that. Of course, you can just run all physical or all special, but if you aren't running Scarf, you'll want Ice Shard for priority. You also get Baton Pass/U-turn for momentum.

Submission Phase is now opened!
As always, six fusions in one post, but there is a new rule for this time: you are allowed to submit only fusions that have a type combination that no other fusion has.
To make it easier for you, contributors, I made a list with all the previous typings. These are the banned typings:

Obviously, if, for example, Electric/Dragon is banned, Dragon/Electric is banned too.
This was thought to add more variety to the meta.
Have fun!
Yeah, I'm out. With all the winning submissions that have been compiled so far, this is already getting hard to be original with. Serverely limiting the type combinations just makes this even harder. Goodbye guys.

I knew this would of happened eventually since we have for fire dragons and three grass steels.

I noticed that poison barely has combinations.

Reserving the following

Yanmega/Venomoth
Lucario/Lopunny
Floette Eternal/Roserade
Venusaur/Rhyperior
Lopunny/Weavile
Dragonite/Altaria

Be afraid. Very afraid.
All the typing combinations for a Lopunny/Weavile fusion are already taken, so they're banned.
I had forgotten to include Normal/Ice because it was introduced in the last slate and the first post hasn't been updated yet, but I added it now.
Sorry :(

What I would find cool if the next slate bans Pokemon that already participated in a winning fusion. (eg. Charizard would be banned since it has already been used in a winning submission.)

Also MegaFlareon better resubmit Thundurbee

How many mons would be left to mix and how powerful could we make them if they're likely RU or lower?

DNA Donors: Beedrill and Thundurus
Offspring name: Thundurbee
New type: Bug/Electric
New base stats: 72/120/55/85/90/105 (+18Atk, +10SpD +12Spe)
New ability and desc: Prankster + Swarm = Stunning Bug: User's Bug-type moves get +1 priority
Notable moves: U-Turn, Wild Charge, Swords Dance, X-Scissor, Superpower, Knock Off, Drill Run
Role identification: Priority U-Turn your way for the win. Electric typing gives it full immunity to paralysis, meaning nothing will slow this down.

500.gif
112.gif

Parents: Emboar and Rhydon
Shared egg group: Field
Offspring name: Rhydar
New Type: Fire/Rock
Base Stats: 117/136/102/82/65/62
New ability and desc: Blaze + Rock Head = Headstrong: Boosts recoil and crash moves by 33% and while getting no recoil damage.
Notable moves: Head Smash, Flare Blitz, Swords Dance, Rock Polish, Double Edge, Stealth Rock, Earthquake, Sucker Punch
Role identification: An absurdly powerful wallbreaker with two spammable and recoil-free STABs. It can set up both Swords Dance and Rock Polish to give you an edge on both offensive and defensive teams. Its defensive typing sucks but its offensive typing is excellent and it gets a good set of resistances to set up.

Parents: Omastar and Slowbro
Shared egg group: Water 1
Offspring name: Starbro
New Type: Water/Psychic
Base Stats: 92/77/127/117/85/52
New ability and desc: Swift Swim + Oblivious = `Mental Boost: Doubles the Speed stat whenever the user is under the effects of Taunt and infatuation.
Notable moves: Hydro Pump, Scald, Psychic, Psyshock, Shell Smash, Calm Mind, Stealth Rock, Spikes, Toxic Spikes, Ice Beam, Fire Blast, Thunder Wave, Slack Off
Role identification: A hazard setter that isn't nerfed by Taunt. Also a potential sweeper thanks to Shell Smash and Calm Mind, Starbro can also run a Choice Specs set while bluffing a set-up move to net a speed boost as well as a power boost.

Slowbro-Mega.png
Parents: Omastar and Slowbro
Shared egg group: Water 1
Offspring name: Starbro
New Type: Water/Psychic
Base Stats: 92/77/197/147/85/52
New ability and desc: Shell Armor
Notable moves: Hydro Pump, Scald, Psychic, Psyshock, Shell Smash, Calm Mind, Stealth Rock, Spikes, Toxic Spikes, Ice Beam, Fire Blast, Thunder Wave, Slack Off
Role identification: Somewhat similar to Mega Slowbro, however it has higher stats (especially Special Attack) and has access to Shell Smash. Its high-level bulk gives it an easy times etting up and its Speed is enough to outspeed a huge portion of the metagame after a Shell Smash boost.

And therein lies the problem, frankly. Yes, you can hammer together an amazing ability to cover for a poor typing and/or weak stats... and then suddenly Harem, which is the single most boring, meta-breaking fusion in Fusionmons. It has the caveat of being able to negate and kill any fusion that's even slightly weaker than itself in short order, and that hangs over your head (or at least my head) like the Sword of bloody Damocles every time you put together a fusion with a cool ability.

Harem is a counter to weather teams, offensive teams, and even some defensive 'mons on the docket. Abilities and held items make the game more varied and therefore make the meta more exciting, and Harem craps all over both those aspects with an ability that might as well be called Snoozefest. It is actively harmful to the meta and, were this an actual meta, I reckon it'd be the first Fusion to get banned. Rightly so.

Yeah, Harem is generally an unhealthy presence in the metagame. Does it make Mega Stones not activate/stop working, as well? If it does, you can't even kill it with Mega Metagross fusions, not to mention the fact that it can still run Scarf and outrun everything. You can't even revenge kill it without priority! If or when Harem gets banned, I don't think anyone would miss it.

Harem does have highly adequate stats, so if someone redesigned it, changing its ability, it might actually be a fun Pokemon. As of right now, I agree that the current Harem is broken, unhealthy and generally not fun to face.

Parents: Azumarill + Swanna
Shared egg group: Water 1
Offspring name: Azuanna
Type: Water/Flying
Base stats: 97/78/81/83/81/84 (504 BST)
New ability: Huge Pecks (Doubles Attack and prevents the opponent from lowering your Defense)
Notable moves: Waterfall, Play Rough, Superpower, Knock Off, Ice Punch, Belly Drum, Aqua Jet, Encore, Aqua Tail, Bounce, Brave Bird, Roost, Defog
Role identification: Insane wallbreaker and offensive Defogger. It doesn't lose much bulk from Azumarill, and Swanna bumps that base Attack up from Groudon-tier to Thick Club Marowak-tier... and that's without the hold item. This can pull off most of Azumarill and Swanna's roles, and while base 84 Speed it has Aqua Jet. Oh, and Belly Drum, because this wasn't busted enough.

Parents: Trevenant + Parasect
Shared egg group: Grass
Offspring name: Trevensect
Type: Ghost/Bug
Base stats: 82/112/88/72/91/53 (498 BST)
New ability: Hexing Spores (Natural Cure+Effect Spore. When this Pokemon switches out its non-volatile status is cured, and there is a 30% chance it will be passed on to the opponent. If struck by a contact move, there is also a 30% chance this Pokemon's non-volatile status will be passed to the target. Grass-types are immune to this effect.)
Notable moves: Destiny Bond, Earthquake, Rock Slide, Horn Leech, Wood Hammer, Drain Punch, Synthesis, Leech Seed, Stun Spore, Spore, Swords Dance, Shadow Claw, X-Scissor, Trick, Trick Room, Pain Split, Phantom Force, Forest's Curse, Will-O-Wisp, Knock Off, Pursuit
Role identification: Insanely obnoxious status spreader and SubSeeder. No double weaknesses to take advantage of, you can't cripple it with Toxic or Burns, and it nails the Pokemon that would normally stop its sporing with STAB X-Scissor. You can also Trick Room or Swords Dance if that's your thing. A shame it doesn't get Shadow Sneak or Megahorn though.

Parents: Conkeldurr + Electivire
Shared egg group: Human-like
Offspring name: Conkelvire
Type: Fighting/Electric
Base stats: 100/141/91/85/85/80 (582 BST)
New ability: Highest Gear (Motor Drive+Sheer Force. Negates the attack and increases Attack by one stage when an Electric-type attack hits this Pokemon. This Pokemon's attacks' secondary effects are converted into a 33% power boost.)
Notable moves: Fire/Thunder/Ice Punch, Drain Punch, Cross Chop, Hammer Arm, Knock Off, Mach Punch, Thunderbolt, Flamethrower, Poison Jab, Bulk Up, Iron Tail, Focus Blast, Volt Switch, Magnet Rise
Role identification: Ladies and gentlemen, we present our first ever competent physical Electric-type!* STAB Sheer Force Thunder Punch off 141 base Attack legitimately hurts, and it's complemented by Ice Punch off that same ability and Fighting STAB. No Flying-type wants to be on the receiving end of this beast, and it can run an all-out attacking set with Life Orb, Bulk Up, or be Assault Vest Conkeldurr 2.0. Heck, run a mixed or special set if you're feeling especially cheeky, it ties Nidoking and has powerful STABs + Flamethrower to make use of.

*Outside of Ubers.

DNA: Articuno + Sableye
Fusion name: Cuneye
Type: Ice/Ghost
Base stats: 80/80/97/90/105/67 (519 BST, +10 HP/+10 Def/+10 SpAtk/+10 SpDef)
New ability: Suspense (Pressure+Stall. Any Pokemon that acts before this one in battle consumes an additional 2 PP.)
Notable moves: Roost, Roar, Ice Beam, Freeze-Dry, Ice Shard, Tailwind, U-turn, Defog, Mind Reader, Sheer Cold, Will-O-Wisp, Shadow Ball, Calm Mind, Taunt, Fake Out, Knock Off, Foul Play
Role identification: It's basically a nasty stallmon with a nasty movepool to take advantage of. You can perform a lot of roles: Defog, PHaze, spread burns, Tailwind, or simply PP stall them if they can't hit it super effectively. It even has U-turn to grab momentum! Has an unfortunate five weaknesses, including Rock, but it has the benefit of...

Mega Cuneye
Mega Stone:
Sablenite
Type: Ice/Ghost
Base Stats: 80/90/147/110/155/37 (619 BST)
Ability: Magic Bounce
Role identification: Mega Cuneye trades its horrific PP burning ability for the most obnoxious anti-passive ability in the game. With an overbearing 80/147/155 bulk, Calm Mind + Will-O-Wisp, and STAB Ice Beam off base 110 SpAtk, it can run an effective CroCuneye set. Or you can use it as a Mega Sableye with momentum, coming in on hazards, throwing out a burn or Ice Beam, and/or U-turn into your next mon. The weakness list still sucks but most of its breakers hate getting burned.

Azuanna is now my favourite fusion of this round. Great work there Laughing X-Naut
Yeah, it does seem pretty great. Brave Bird will kill yourself if you aren't running Roost, and its second choice is Aerial Ace (why doesn't Swanna get Acrobatics), but that could work on a Belly Drum set.

Also, we now have two Electric/Fighting 'mons that Electivire is part of, lol

EDIT: Shouldn't we be in Voting Phase now?

Last edited:
Yes we should!

Submissions are Closed and Voting is Open! This has been an interesting experiment, and the council is discussing other possible themes for later but will be returning to your regularly-scheduled rules for at least the upcoming slate!

As always, vote for 10, vote for something you'll still like when it's won (Harem was pretty popular at the time, iirc), and have fun! If I forgot any again this time, let me know.

Edit: Exploud/Aurorus is a good idea and should definitely be resubmitted in a round where Normal/Ice isn't illegal.

Durant/Victini
Thundurus/Beedrill (You all better vote for this)
Tentacruel/Heatran
Rhyperior/Venusaur
Azumarill/Swanna
Emboar/Rhydon
Roserade/Florette-Eternal
Landorus/Alakazam
Electrivire/Conkeldurr
Zygarde/Granbull

Lets open voting for Fusion Moves now

Starmie/Carracosta (One of mine, and a nice mixed Shell Smash attacker)
Tropius/Haxorus (Another of mine, plus solar dragon warriors are cool, right?)
Hawlucha/Electivire (Yet another of mine. I guess I just like making 'mons that can go mixed)
Thundurus/Beedrill (Simple, yet deadly. I like it)
Azumarill/Swanna (Set up a Belly Drum, and break half the tier in just a few turns)
Venusaur/Rhyperior (Poison/Rock isn't the defensive death sentence it seems to be, honestly)
Alakazam/Volbeat (Hits hard and glows bright. Also has a nice Mega)
Galvantula/Crustle (Hazards and Shell Smash make for fun times)
Landorus/Kyurem (Really, there isn't too much to say about this that doesn't already speak for itself)
Florges/Cherrim (Behold the supreme flower! This'll be fun for both singles and doubles, if FE doubles becomes a thing)

Weezing/Registeel Looks like an incredible wall, with Toxic, Will-O, Pain Split and the stats to back up its support movepool. Access to both Toxic Spikes and Stealth Rock also make it an amazing hazard lead, and Explosion makes it an effective suicide lead.
Druddigon/Altaria. Despite the fact that the metagame is over saturated with Dragon type DD sweepers, I like this. It brings something new to the table with its mega. Dragon Dance + Return + Fire Punch + Dragon Claw gives it perfect coverage in only three slots, while making it the first DD sweeper to effectively use a fairy move. Also, Pixilated Stab Return at +1 is instant death.
Victini/Durant Will be amazing with a Choice Scarf. Give it some of that V-Create magic and then switch it out immediately after like you would normally do with a Scarf. U-Turn Scarf is free momentum. Who am I to complain?
Tyranitar/Heliolisk Seems to be a very fun Pokemon. Set it up in a Sandstorm and go wild! I love Pokemon that can go physical, special or mixed, as you leave your opponent guessing with no idea which check they should switch it.
Huntail/Relicanth Because I love Shell Smash, and mixed Shell Smash is something that's never been seen before!
Drapion/Barbaracle Is a Shell Smasher with great coverage and an ability that nukes even the toughest walls. We've already talked about my love for Shell Smash.
Cloyster/Cradily. I'm addicted to Shell Smash and need to vote every good Shell Smasher. Please help.
Honchkrow/Unfezant With a Scope Lens will be an absolutely brutal wallbreaker on balanced teams. This needs to win.
Gallade/Eelektross Has some crazy power in its mega form, with perfect coverage and STAB Drain Punch coming off a 170 BP, this thing will break unprepared teams. And with bulk like that, it can also run a bulky support set to take advantage of its viable support movepool. You could even run a bulky mega attacker, its bulk and access to Drain Punch making it to Fusion Evolution what Mienfoo is to LC.
Thundurus/Beedrill Can form the best VoltTurn core in the world with any bulky VoltTurn pivot, Forretress being the first that comes to mind. It can also use Swords Dance to set itself up and then sweep effortlessly with priority X-Scissors.

There were a lot of great submissions this phase, and it very was hard to decide my last votes.

Weezing/Register
Altaria/Druddigon (I didn't even realize it could have perfect coverage until Vanillish Wafer's post)
Beedrill/Thundurus
Victini/Durant
Huntail/Relicanth
