Gallade's EV spread

In the analysis thread for Gallade, most the sets recommend 20 speed EVs, for a yield of 201 spd @ max stats. My question is what is the significance of 201 speed? What is he trying to outrun with that? Why not at least aim for 208, which beats the spread given for CBTar? Or something like that?

Sorry if this is the inappropriate to warrant its own thread -- I just didn't think that this question fits into the simple question/answer thread. Anyways, thanks for replies.
 
It does fit into the Simple Question thread, and my guess is to outspeed things that run 200 for Agility/Rock Polish. (Rampardos, Metagross)
 
I thought those guys tend to run 202+ with the advent of ScarfCross, especially Rampy who gets shat on by CC.
 
Actually, the new Agility/Rock Polish number is 202 to outspeed Scarf Cross. 203+ is used to outspeed these pokemon. I think 207 is enough. Outspeed Agility/Rock Polish users and things like Suicune.
 
The EVs given in most analyses are just general advice - a lot of times you can make simple corrections or additions that may result in certain gains, depending on your team. That's kind of the problem with no real metagame - I'm sure a lot of these things will get fleshed out pretty quickly with the advent of Competitor.

<p>Gallade with 336 HP is a good number for leftovers and it gives Gallade general defenses to take weak hits that walling pokemon will be throwing at you. The 20 speed EVs give Gallade an overall speed of 201 which is ok.

Basically, he boosted HP and put the leftovers in Speed. The indication is that any extra speed (such as 203) would have to come out of attack.
