Gamageroge
[Overview]
- Despite great typing, has mediocre stats, especially defensively, which inhibit it from playing a Swampert-like role.
 - Also lacking in solid support options such as Stealth Rock or Recover.
 - However, it has access to Swift Swim, and the Water/Ground defensive typing, coupled with its high HP make a defensive set viable.

[SET]
name: Swift Swim
move 1: Surf/Hydro Pump
move 2: Hidden Power [Electric] / Hidden Power [Ice]
move 3: Focus Blast
move 4: Grass Knot/Sludge Wave
item: Life Orb
nature: Timid
evs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Set Description:
- Your standard Life Orb Swift Swimmer; while hampered noticeably by the lack of access to Ice Beam, it has a decent movepool to work with, though with sadly redundant coverage.
 - Hydro Pump or Surf is the primary STAB move; Grass Knot provides coverage against waters.
 - Gamageroge must choose between hitting Gyarados and other waters with neutrality to Grass Knot with Hidden Power Electric, or hitting dragons like Salamence and Dragonite.
 - Focus Blast is useful against certain water-resistant steels, like Emploeon and Nattorei, as well as providing extra coverage. It also does more damage to Sazando than Hidden Power Ice.
 - Sludge Wave could be useful against opposing Grass Types, however, Gamageroge should not stay in against them unless they are weakened.

Additional Comments:
- Simple EV spread usually as there's no reason to use anything other than 252 SAtk / 252 Speed.
 - Modest is not recommended; with Modest Gamageroge is outsped by Deoxys-S and max speed base 102 or higher scarfers in the rain.

Teammates and Counters:
- Obviously you'll want Politoed or Kyogre to set up the rain.
 - Shandera, depending on type (usually SubCM), is potentially useful in killing opposing certain weather-changers such as Hippowdon and Ninetales.
 - Grass types like Celebi, Jaroda or Erefuun can come in on Grass attacks, as well as water attacks aimed at its Water neutrality. Shaymin-S has a 4x Grass resist, so it's even better for this role.

- If Gamaeroge is not carrying Slime Wave, it will have great difficulty getting past Grass types; if it is not carrying Grass Knot, it will struggle with Water types, which can deal severe damage to it in the rain due to Ground negating its water resist.
 - Vaporeon and Manaphy shut it down entirely because of Grass Knot's low base power against them.
 - Gamageroge must beware of opposing weather changers, though his saving grace is that all potential weather changers are weak to Water.
 - Salamence or Gyarados can shut it down depending on what Hidden Power it decides to carry.

name: Choice Specs
move 1: Hydro Pump
move 2: Sludge Wave
move 3: Focus Blast
move 4: Grass Knot
item: Choice Specs
nature: Timid
evs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Set Description:
- Overall, similar to the LO Swift Swimmer, except that it is not neccesarily dependent on the rain to be effective.
 - As Specs Gamaeroge will play differently from the LO Swift Swimmer, Hydro Pump is better for its more hit-and-run style.
 - Slime Wave is more useful on this set, as it will look to predict Grass switchins and severely dent them.

Teammates and Counters:
- While it certainly benefits from the rain, Specs Gamageroge's role is to dent potential checks to another sweeper; it can dent Water types with Grass Knot, Grass types with Slime Wave, Nattorei with Focus Blast.
 - It can also clear the way for other sweepers countered by certain bulky waters like Doryuuzu and Tyranitar.
 - Like the previous set, Vaporeon and Manaphy shut it down, though the less defensive Manaphy variants won't appreciate Specs Hydro Pump.
 - Grass/Poison hybrids like Venusaur are also effective switch-ins, as they are neutral to Slime Wave and can OHKO back with a grass move.

[Dream World]
- Water Absorb provides Gamageroge a few new defensive options; with this ability it can shut down bulky waters almost entirely.
 - It can work similarly to Quagsire in checking Kyogre, but it is forced to use Toxic in lieu of Yawn.
