Games you could play forever.

My friends and I talk about a lot of things during lunch, and we came up with a good gaming scenario. Everyone has their favorite games, but are they the game you play the most? Anyways the scenario is you are locked in a room for 10 years, with any game console of your choice that exists at the time, but no computers. You are allowed to take 5 games in with you, they must already be out, you will have online capabilities, and these five games will be your only entertainment for 10 years. So what games would you take with you?

My choices would have to be

- Resident Evil 4
- Halo 3
- Rock Band 2
- Metal Gear Solid 4
- Little Big Planet

Those are my choices as of now, might change them, anyways What are your choices?

EDIT: The reason I didn't want to include computers is because I didn't want people listing MMORPGs

EDIT2: If you want to include pc, go ahead.

SSBB(I don't want to get rusty when I'm let free!)
Super Mario Galaxy
Metroid Fusion(need to beat my personal record)
Star Wars: Battlefront 1(I'd prefer Gamespy but since you said no PCs, XBL is okay too)
Earthbound

PES2008 (haven't tried 2009, but that could probably replace it)
Forza Motorsport 2 (I really love this game)
SSBB
COD4 (again, haven't played the newer one)
Picross DS (I could play this game for hours, and do :/)

So far, the only games that have done this for me are:

- Tetris
- Smash
- Minesweeper
- Unreal Tournament

But seriously, why not computers? PC gaming is totally valid.

10 years is an amazingly long time - I think anything without online play would get incredibly stale, no matter how much replayability it has. My first choice would be Warcraft III for sure, but since you're not allowed to use a computer (unless you can use a computer if it's only to play a game, but it has nothing else on it), that doesn't work. The only console-based game with a whole lot of online replayability I can think of offhand would be Halo 3, so I'd have to say that, and think of 4 other games with a lot of online playability, preferably with fairly different genres.

Straight off the top of my head, first five I could think of

-DJ Max Portable 2
-Pokemon Platinum
-Super Mario World
-Rock Band 2
-Sonic 3 & Knuckles (does that break the rules?)

Fire Emblem: Blazing Sword
Smash Bros
Jak and Daxter
Pokemon
Super Mario 64

Not much I'm sure, it's always subject to change.

Secret of Mana-amazing. I could play over and over again.
Monster Hunter-amazing. Requires loads of time, luck, and "skill".
Some of the Final Fantasy games-some are really quite good.
Super Mario Kart-great fun. Donkey Kong>all other characters.
Killer Instinct-massive combos are fun. The characters are awesome.

The only thing I can really think of is Oblivion, the replayability and how sandboxy it is still has not gotten stale after playing it 3-4 times a week for two years since it's come out. Anything else just gets old. RPGs without any replayability would be done in the first week, so I'm not sure why people are saying stuff like that.

And not rock band/GH. Do you realize how fucking stale that would get hearing the same damn songs over and over for ten years?

Well i think...

-Mega Man 2 and 9
-Resident Evil 4
-PES (always the most updated though)
-Super Mario Bros. 3
-Legend of Zelda: Link's awakening
-Super Castlevania IV
- Castlevania Rondo of Blood
-Golden Sun

uhm... actually... this is tough. i get bored of games eventually. RPGs are good and all but they have to be replayed over large breaks, otherwise they'll get stale

maybe....

zelda: link to the past
megaman 2
super castlevania
world of warcraft
donkey kong country 2

Grand Theft Auto (almost all games)
Mario (the really awesome ones like Mario 64)
Tekken 5 (hopefully 6 when I get it)
Pokemon (lol..sort of)
Crash (the adventure games)

I couldn't do Pokemon without the internet. :/

Chrono Trigger DS
Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence
Resident Evil 4
Gears of War
Guitar Hero II

Pokemon Platinum
Pokemon Diamond/Pearl
Pokemon Emerald
Pokemon Firered/Leafgreen
Final Fantasy (the newest one when I lock myself)

That's me. I play pokemon. I love pokemon. Really. I'll play final fantasy when I get bored, but I'll play pokemon. I'll be a pokemon master. Mohahaha.

smash brothers brawl
diablo 2:lod
dance dance revolution
either final fantasy 6 or super mario rpg
s'all i can think of right now.

NHL (EA Sports) / Pro Evolution Soccer (Konami)

Basicly those series, playing almost every release of them (sometimes I skip a year though)

well

Majora's Mask and Ocarina of Time are my number one (played through them about 50 times each in my life span)

Morrowind and Oblivion on my Xbox/360 have also got a shit load of time (getting close to around 500 hours on morrowind)

and FFTA and Tactics Ogre : The Knight of Lodis have tons of hours of just leveling even though i've beaten the games like 10000000 times.
