Garchomp [GP 0/1]

[OVERVIEW]

* Garchomp's great Speed tier, offensive typing, and access to strong spread damage make it one of the metagame's best offensive threats.

* Solid natural bulk and Rough Skin also make it difficult to remove from play, especially if it Terastallizes to remove some of its problematic weaknesses like Fairy and Dragon.

* Because Earthquake is the main attacking move, Garchomp must be paired with Earthquake-immune Pokemon such as Hydreigon, Rotom-W, Talonflame, Murkrow, and Corviknight to name a few.

* Has a hard time covering certain Pokemon: Steel-type Hydreigon and Corviknight wall it thoroughly.

[SET]
name: Offensive
move 1: Earthquake
move 2: Dragon Claw / Rock Slide
move 3: Rock Slide / Swords Dance
move 4: Protect
item: Clear Amulet / Life Orb / Lum Berry
ability: Rough Skin
nature: Jolly
tera type: Ground / Steel / Fire
evs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

* Earthquake lets Garchomp deal massive damage to both opponents. Note that Garchomp appreciates partners that are immune to Earthquake so it can attack freely.

* Rock Slide hits many Pokemon that are immune to Earthquake like Gyarados and Corviknight.

* Swords Dance greatly increases Garchomp's offensive potential.

* Dragon Claw can hit Pokemon like Rotom-W, Hydreigon, and opposing Garchomp for reliable damage. Notably, this is Garchomp's best move that isn't blocked by Wide Guard.

* Clear Amulet prevents Intimidate drops, making it hard to mitigate its offensive pressure. Life Orb offers Garchomp stronger immediate damage, which can really stack up with Ground-type Terastallization. Lum Berry can work as a one-time check to Spore or Will-O-Wisp users like Amoonguss and Breloom or Arcanine and Talonflame, respectively.

* A Ground Tera Type can be used to compound the damage of Garchomp's already powerful Earthquakes, while a defensive Steel Tera Type can be used to invert all three of Garchomp's natural weaknesses to Ice, Dragon, and Fairy. A Fire Tera Type also grants Garchomp resistances to Ice and Fairy while also making it immune to Burn.

* 252 Speed EVs are used to outrun the likes of Hydreigon, Mimikyu, and Paldean Tauros-W, while speed tieing at worst with opposing Garchomp.

Dragon Claw also hits pokemon that're immune to Earthquake, Rock Slide I'd think is mainly for Flyers specifically. U can also mention that Dragon Claw gives Garchomp an attack that isn't blocked by Wide Guard mons like Armarouge. I'm honestly not sure if Rock Slide should be first while I do think I may've seen Rock Slide more than Dragon Claw. It seems like Dragon Claw is better based of what is said; Corv isn't so relevant and I don't think it's so important to have against Gyarados, at least the threats Dragon Claw hits I think are more relevant.

maybe don't use the word "necessary" technically less Speed EVs can outpace those.

This seems good overall, qc 1/1

Banned deucer.
Maybe a bit far-fetched, but a third option with tera fire to fit WoW's Rotom, nine, flame/Spiritomb. I think it's a better option than Lum Berry because you can use it with Clear Amulet that way. Iron Head could even be included as an option on the tera type steel for fairies, although you already hit well with EQ and lose that weakness.

With 240 EV's in speed you beat all of that. As they have said, it is not necessary to take it with full speed.
