Just a reminder for me: to be done on Tuesday 4:22 PM

[OVERVIEW]
* Garchomp has decent Attack and Speed, allowing it to serve as a solid offensive Pokemon
* Good offensive STAB combination in Dragon and Ground allows it to hit most of the meta for at least neutral damage, with the exception of Skarmory, Celesteela and Tapu Bulu
* With the right coverage moves, the aforementioned Pokemon can still potentially be broken through
* A decent ability in Rough Skin allows it to chip away at Pokemon using contact moves, most notably U-turn
* An immunity to Electric-type moves also allows Garchomp to stop Volt Switch
* A wide movepool allows Garchomp to fit on a variety of teams, while also making it rather unpredictable
* Decent bulk also allows Garchomp to use a defensive set with Rocky Helmet, punishing physical attackers by taking 30% of their health with every hit

* Its speed sits in an awkward tier, being unable to outspeed common Pokemon such Greninja, Mega Latios, Tapu Koko and Kartana
* A 4x weakness to Ice-type attacks makes Garchomp weak to common Ice-type coverage or moves, such as Hidden Power Ice from Landorus-T and Tapu Koko, Ice Beam from Mega Latios and Ice Shard from Weavile
* It faces competition from other Stealth Rock users such as Landorus-T and Gliscor, which are not weak to Fairy-type coverage, have better bulk and utility as well as pressure opponents with the amount of different sets
* It also faces competition from Zygarde as an offensive Dragon-type Pokemon, which can set up Dragon Dance, isn't walled by Skarmory or Celesteela, and has more utility in Glare, Substitute and Coil

* Mega Garchomp is a fearsome wallbreaker, and above average bulk makes it rather difficult to take down
* However, it's ability may not be as useful, due to it requiring sand to perform any damage boost
* It's speed is also cut after mega evolution, which leaves it being outsped by even more Pokemon

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========
* Stealth Rock is mandatory on any serious team and is great for damaging foes when they switch in
* Swords Dance boosts Garchomp's decent attack to frightening levels, allowing it to heavily damage a foe with its moves
* Earthquake is Garchomp's most powerful Ground-type STAB move and hits Pokemon that are immune or resistant to Dragon-type moves for damage
* Outrage hits Pokemon immune to Earthquake for at least neutral damage barring Skarmory and Celesteela and gives the highest damage output for Devastating Drake
* Fire Blast is an option over Swords Dance to hit Pokemon such as the aforementioned counters as well as Ferrothorn and Mega Scizor, but losing out on boosting Garchomp's attack for Devastating Drake may not be as useful

a quick glance at the on-site Garchomp analysis gives it away, nearly every sentence in the overview and moves sections can be translated into a similarly worderd bullet point here, there’s too many for this to be a coincidence so I won’t bother looking further into this
