Gas Pedal [XY OU Hyper Offense]

Got to thinking, if you wanted to keep using this team in some form if/when Mega Gengar is banned, you could try Scarf Gothitelle > Mega Gengar and use Mega Lucario which would let you viably run both BP and Crunch. IDK if it would be as good but its something to consider.

Man, I just faced this team on PS! and I nearly got swept away. The only thing that saved me was Skarmory's Whirlwind shenanigans, baiting in Salamence. Once this team gets going, it's a monster. Great work, MikeDecIsHere!

This is a bit speculative, but what will you do if and when Deoxys-S and Mega-Gengar go up to Ubers? I suppose you could use a Smeargle suicide lead, but...

When deo s goes to ubers, deo d isn't that bad

When gar goes to ubers... this team is kinda useless since gar adds more utility than any other trapper in the entire game and it's pretty hard to replace that. scarf gothie beats bulky grounds like gar, but that's about it. Destiny bond and perish song make gar one of a kind

Wobb is good too but that'd require a massive team overhaul

Sorry, I meant to say more than I did yesterday about this team. Volt turn with mega gengar is pretty fantastic as a core. I was using Garchomp as my scarfer, but Moxie and outrage after all the opponent's fairies/steels are dead is insane.

I tend to prefer taunt/Fire Punch and rocks and spikes on my Deoxys just because I've found that it can become set-up bait and it's a lot harder for Hyper offense to deal with a set-up sweeper out of the gate. I understand magic coat, though.

Icy Wind on the Gengar is a great idea, though.

I'm not sure sticky web is an issue. It sort of pigeonholes you into sweeping with salamence, but half the team is immune to it and scizor and rotom don't care. Luke also has priority with extreme speed.

It's honestly a toss up between Taunt and Magic Coat. I like Magic Coat due to more utility though. (It's also better against Pranksters). Using Taunt would leave me a lot less weak to idiots really good players who set up turn 1 though. It also stops DD Roost Flare Blitz D-Claw Charizard X from taking a big dump on this team (for those idiots really good players who set up turn 1. Like I said though, it's all preference.

Seconding the call for Icy Wind. Outside of that, the only thing I can think to change is Salamence's nature. Naive over Hasty will help you take Bullet Punches a little better, which can be pretty important if you've taken Stealth Rock damage.

I hate missing important moves more than anything, so I won't be using Icy Wind. However, the Nature change is a good point. I'll probably fix that.

Good team, and thank god gengarite will be gone soon. I would recommend putting all of deoxys's hp Ivs in attack, as it needs it to ohko neutral nature genesect. You have the sash, so there is really no need to invest in bulk. Also, without taunt, you are kind of setup bait for everything not weak to fire. Magic coat is nice, but if you aren't using the fast taunt or the ability to ohko genesects, you may as well just use deo d. While gengars destiny bond deals with a decent amount of setup sweepers, it is still something to consider. Finally, you are very weak mega kangashkan, and that thing is fucking everywhere. You have two things against it, which is not letting it set up and gengars destiny bond. However, if gengar dies (and it often dies early doing something important), and it gets one free turn, which isn't that hard, it sweeps automatically. Honestly I can't think of anything that fits your team to check it, but it was just obvious from seeing the team. Hope I helped :)

Okay, you really didn't help. I don't NEED to OHKO Genesect. If I can do a solid 70ish percent that's fine. In addition, the bulk is nice so I can lay more hazards against weaker Pokemon.

Mega Kangaskhan cannot set up on a single Pokemon aside from Deoxys-S. And even at +2, no move can one shot Scizor, and I can OHKO back with Super Power. With Magic Coat, hazards will be off of the field, so I have no worries about that. I've played a lot of Mega Khans, and it's not the most threatening Mega to this team by any stretch.

^ This last post pretty much answers my statement. Even Deo-D isn't as nice as a utility than Deo-S (more Defense but doesn't outspeed the whole tier ;-;). Once Mega-Gar goes, this team won't be able to function at all really. Scarfed Goth kills one thing, but then gets completely set up on by something else, so it's not AS threatening. Kind of why I posted it, since the Lucario / Scizor / Mega-Gengar core is the best physical offensive core for trapping + sweeping.

Mega khan isn't a threat? Fire punch mega khan (it's best set)6 -0s you automatically simply by leading. I guess that's ok with you. Also, you are ok with doing 70 to a genesect even if it means no hazards? That seems like shit to me.

Nitpick: Scizor needs 248 hp because of SR issues.

Other than that, this team is pretty cool. I'm surprised Smogon is allowing Deo-S still and yeah it's the best HO mom ever really no reason not to use it.

If you find Aegislash annoying to face, you can use Night Slash somewhere on Scizor since Aegi is a common switch in to Zor and will most likely Shadow Ball or SD on it than Kings Shield anyway!

Good luck! Nice broke team ;)

Minor nitpick, but Thief is better than Night Slash in this case since it benefits from the Technician boost and was upgraded to 60 BP in XY: 60*1.5 = 90>70

If your opponent leads with Genesect, you fire punch it. You don't really NEED the hazards. It's HO so you keep the momentum until you kill walls, then something can sweep the rest of their team. What hazards do in HO is let you set up on hazard removers or grab the momentum on the rapid spin/Defog turn.

Mega Kangaroo is tough to stop. I haven't run into a fire punch version yet, but between scizor and Lucario and rotom burning it, I haven't had too many problems.

Just another minor nitpick (cuz I can't do much to this team, it's so damn good), unless you want to be outspeeding something specific, I would suggest running a Brave nature with 0ivs in speed to get an even slower u-turn. A 248hp/252att/8def spread still works, and to put in perspective, you can even outslow donphan while running brave with 0ivs. This would allow you to switch into mega gengar safely and ko with shadow ball. Just a tiny fix, but it can't hurt.

Or you can run Knock Off>Pursuit as pursuit is kind of a momentum killer. Knock off allows you to cripple any sort of emergency walls, like landorus-t or whatnot. It still gets the tech boost IIRC and is sweet af this generation.

Thank you for all of your input on the team. However, with the recent ban of Gengarite, I will most likely not be making any refinements to this and just leave it as is, just for keepsake I guess. Back to the drawing board~

Knock Off is 65 BP so no Tech Boost, though it does have its merits.
