Gastrodon's great defensive typing, ability, and decent bulk makes it a solid answer to Pokemon such as Drapion, Barraskewda, and Lycanroc. However, Gastrodon is rather passive and vulnerable to common threats like Virizion, Exploud, and Goodra. Toxic cripples Pokemon like Virizion, Tangela, and Porygon2 that would otherwise be able to come in on Gastrodon for free. Clear Smog can be used instead to prevent set-up sweepers such as Espeon and Sigilyph from getting out of hand, but Gastrodon is conceivably easy to exploit without Toxic. Ice Beam is an option over Toxic or Clear Smog to hit Goodra, Sigilyph, and Dhelmise, but its less useful overall. A Specially Defensive spread lets Gastrodon check Gardevoir, Charizard and Inteleon better— however, this leaves it more vulnerable to Barraskewda and Lycanroc.

Pokemon such as Arcanine, Vileplume, and Salazzle can check Grass-types like Dhelmise and Virizion that can easily take advantage of Gastrodon. Bewear also appreciates Gastrodon checking its revenge killers like Salazzle. Copperajah likes Barraskewda, Passimian, and Lycanroc being checked. Other wallbreakers like Goodra, Lycanroc, and Gardevoir appreciate Gastrodon being able to pivot in on their revenge killers like Silvally-Fairy, Passimian, and Salazzle.

Gastrodon's great defensive typing, ability, and decent bulk makes it a solid answer to Pokemon such as Galarian Slowbro, Barraskewda, and Lycanroc. However, Gastrodon is rather passive and vulnerable to common threats like Virizion, Exploud, and Goodra. Toxic punishes cripples defensive Pokemon like Milotic, Tangela, and Porygon2 that would otherwise be able to come in on Gastrodon for free. (feel like "punishes" isnt the most apt here, considering it can kinda help milotic by giving it a marvel scale defense boost, "cripples" covers all the options mentioned). Clear Smog can be used instead to fare better against Calm Mind Galarian Slowbro and Sigilyph, but Gastrodon is easy to exploit without Toxic. Ice Beam is an option over Toxic or Clear Smog to hit Goodra, Sigilyph, and Dhelmise, but its less useful overall. A Specially Defensive spread lets Gastrodon check Sigilyph, Charizard and Inteleon better— however, this leaves it more vulnerable to Barraskewda.

Galarian Slowbro is an excellent partner for Gastrodon, as it's able to beat Virizion and Tangela, and if its itemless, Dhelmise. Galarian Slowbro can also pivot into Pokemon like Bronzong and Copperajah that annoy Gastrodon. (max atk variants of copperajah have a very high chance to 2hko with eq vs gbro coming in on rocks, "252+ Atk Copperajah Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Slowbro-Galar: 180-212 (45.6 - 53.8%) -- 94.1% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Black Sludge recovery", so doesnt make for a good mention here) In exchange, Gastrodon can check Rhyperior and Drapion. Other checks to Virizion like Dragalge Pokemon such as Arcanine, Vileplume, and Salazzle are vital to have, as it can easily use can check Grass-types like Dhelmise and Virizion that easily take advantage of Gastrodon for free set-up. (the way it was written could be confused for needing gbro + one of the aforementioned mons to partner with gastro. dhelmise also should be mentioned as it can easily take advantage of gastro to spin or synth. arcanine > dragalge cuz it handles the grass-types mentioned better with intimidate) Fighting-types like Passimian and Bewear appreciate Gastrodon checking Galarian Slowbro.

Clear Smog can be used instead to fare better against prevent set-up sweepers such as Calm Mind Galarian Slowbro and Sigilyph from getting out of hand, but Gastrodon is conceivably easy to exploit without Toxic. (changing the phrasing of csmog part because without it, gastro can easily lose vs both, slightly less so vs gbro, but this makes it more accurate. also adding "conceivably" because csmog > toxic can work well on gastro if its in a mu where there are v threatening set-up sweepers or if its on a team with a lot of status spreaders, therefore don't want to make it seem like csmog is discouraged). Ice Beam is an option over Toxic or Clear Smog to hit Goodra, Sigilyph, and Dhelmise, but its less useful overall. A Specially Defensive spread lets Gastrodon check Sigilyph, Charizard and Inteleon better— however, this leaves it more vulnerable to Barraskewda and Swords Dance Lycanroc. (just one more mention of physical attacker that can be threatening to spdef gastro. also, about the sigi mention here, i think either a) specify non cm sigi cuz that still wins out 1 on 1 if not csmog gastro, or b) change it out for something like garde perhaps, ill leave this up to your discretion)

-Remove all Sigi mentions
-Up to you: maybe mention in the overview how Gastrodon is relatively easy to pressure in general (which is what I hate the most about it - it becomes way a less reliable check to everything because you usually take about 40 from things you should beat and thus need to keep it at 100% to checm them effectively and it's not an easy thing to do, even without considering hazards)
-I wouldn't mention Ice Beam at all, I would rather toxic every target barring Plume (and maybe potentially Synthesis-less Dhelmise but like whatever, just trying to burn it on the switch is good). However if you do mention it, mention chipping Virizion and pressuring Tangela (maybe pressuring Plume too since you do like 40 and force it not to punish smth in the switch to heal off)
That's it, well done, QC 2/2
