Gastrodon uses its excellent typing and solid mixed bulk to check a variety of offensive threats, such as Salazzle, Toxicroak, and Boltund. It possesses an incredible Electric immunity and no Knock Off weakness, allowing it to differentiate itself from Jellicent. Gastrodon can also switch into and force out almost every single Stealth Rock user in the tier. Toxic is an amazing utility option due to putting any Gastrodon switch-ins such as Rillaboom and Jellicent on a timer. Defense investment is used to make checking physical attackers like Swords Dance Silvally and Stealth Rock users such as Rhydon and Mudsale much easier. Storm Drain gives Gastrodon a Water immunity, allowing it to gain a Special Attack boost off Scald from the likes of Jellicent and opposing Gastrodon.

Due to Gastrodon's 4x weakness to Grass-type attacks, Steel-and Fire-types such as Silvally-Steel and Charizard are excellent teammates. Charizard in particular has amazing defensive synergy, with Gastrodon, which can deal with Water-, Electric-, and Rock-types for it and in return, Charizard can deal with the Grass-types such as Vileplume and Whimsicott that threaten Gastrodon. Gastrodon also appreciates Pokemon that use Heal Bell or Aromatherapy such as Vileplume or Aromatisse to help cure any status that may be inflicted on Gastrodon throughout the match. Vileplume and Aromatisse appreciate Gastrodon being able to handle Salazzle and Toxicroak in return. Virizion checks such as Dhelmise, Sableye, and the aforementioned Vileplume are also excellent partners for Gastrodon. Choice Scarf users such as Toxicroak, Indeedee, and Passimian can revenge kill Virizion too. Setup sweepers such as Bulk Up Scrafty and Curse Snorlax take advantage of Gastrodon's passivity, so Pokemon such as Bewear for Snorlax and the previously mentioned Aromatisse for Scrafty are excellent teammates as well.

+ add in something about teammates who appreciate Gastrodon's ability to take on the attackers you mentioned in the first sentence of paragraph 1. vileplume and aroma like lazzle being dealt with, etc? you listed them as aromatherapy users, but given vileplume's tendency to not run the move, the tidbit about gastrodon shutting down salazzle is arguably more valuable than the aromatherapy support.

+ implement all the changes we discussed in dms

+ the first sentence can be reworded to be a lot clearer. "Gastrodon uses its excellent typing and solid mixed bulk to check a variety of dangerous offensive threats, such as Salazzle, Barraskewda, Toxicroak, and Boltund."

+ add in something about why physical defense investment is used as opposed to special defense investment (better checking swords dancers like the Silvallies).

1/2 well done sensei gooner

Barraskewda was removed of the list of things that Gastro counters and that's about all that changed

I'd mention Flying-types in teammates, too, because that's good v grass. Gastrodon / Copperajah / Zard or Xatu was a core that worked very well last week in RUPL (I brought it with Zard to my game, Jake brought it with Xatu -- just mentioning in case u want to see replays of that core)

Gastrodon uses its excellent typing and solid mixed bulk to check a variety of dangerous offensive threats, such as Salazzle, Toxicroak, and Boltund. Despite facing competition from Jellicent as a bulky Water-type due to its Fighting immunity and access to Will-O-Wisp, Gastrodon possesses an incredible Electric immunity and no Knock Off weakness, allowing it to differentiate itself. In addition to this, Gastrodon can also switch in on almost every single Stealth Rock user in the tier and force it out with the pressure of Scald, Earth Power, or Toxic. Toxic is the preferred utility move of choice due to the fact that it can put anything that wants to switch into Gastrodon, such as Rillaboom or Jellicent, on a timer. change this toxic sentence accordingly to the removal of clear smog Clear Smog can also be used over Toxic utilized to negate any sort of set-up that a foe may have such as Silvally-Fairy's Swords Dance or Rotom's Nasty Plot. (we decided against clear smog mention in qc) Defense investment is used on Gastrodon due to it making Gastrodon's job of checking physical attackers like Swords Dance Silvally, Boltund, and Toxicroak easier. you already mentioned boltund and croak earlier; additionally say how def investment lets it pivot in vs rockers more easily etc Storm Drain is taken as the ability of choice to give Gastrodon a Water immunity, allowing it to gain a Special Attack boost off stray Scalds from the likes of Jellicent and opposing Gastrodon.

Due to Gastrodon's 4x weakness to Grass-type attacks, Steel-and Fire-types such as Silvally-Steel and Charizard are excellent choices of teammates for Gastrodon. Charizard in particular deserves a special shout out due to the amazing defensive synergy they contain with each other. Gastrodon can help deal with the Water-, Electric-, and Rock-types that threaten Charizard and in return, Charizard can deal with the Grass-types such as Vileplume and Whimsicott that threaten Gastrodon. Gastrodon also appreciates Pokemon that support Heal Bell or Aromatherapy such as Vileplume or Aromatisse to help cure any status that may be inflicted on Gastrodon throughout the match. In addition to this, both Vileplume and Aromatisse appreciate Gastrodon being able to handle the aforementioned Salazzle and Toxicroak. make more of a point of mons that are able to check viriz as stone edge deals w zard
also mention that gastro's pasiveness can allow mons like lax and scrafty to easily come in, so add checks for these setup mons

Despite facing competition from Jellicent as a bulky Water-type due to its Fighting immunity and access to Will-O-Wisp, Gastrodon possesses an incredible Electric immunity and no Knock Off weakness, allowing it to differentiate itself. (not seeing how your rewrite is a significant improvement) In addition to this, Gastrodon can also switch in on almost every single Stealth Rock user in the tier and force it out with the pressure of Scald, Earth Power, or Toxic. Toxic is an amazing utility option as it puts common switch ins to Gastrodon due to the fact that it can put anything that wants to switch into Gastrodon, (shorter and better for sure, but you've introduced two errors: no comma before the 'as', and no hyphen in 'switch-ins') such as Rillaboom or Jellicent, on a timer. Gastrodon invests in Defense to Defense investment is used on Gastrodon due to it making Gastrodon's job of checking (don't think saying the pokemon itself is making the investment is ideal) physical attackers like Swords Dance Silvally and Stealth Rocker users such as Rhydon and Mudsale more easilymuch easier. (not that i hate the idea, but virizion is a bit of a special case thanks to its fighting stab and stone edge, so its placement doesn't matter a ton. also, make your comments a different color from your additions) Set-up Sweepers such as Bulk Up Scrafty and Curse Snorlax take advantage of Gastrodon's passivity, so Pokemon such as Bewear for Snorlax and the previously mentioned Aromatisse for Scrafty are excellent teammates as well.
