Gen 5 Raiin is overrated

This team is very awkard to say the least. Due to the abundance of rain teams I decided to make a team that doesnt fit the cookie cutter mold. I have had mixed reactions when using this team and a mixed ranking.
How it works: If I see the team is a weather based user I select my pokemon lead depending on what weather user they have.

Dragonite (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Multi-Scale
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 SAtk
Quiet Nature (+SAtk, -Spd)
- Roost
- Draco Meteor
- Fire Blast
- ExtremeSpeed
Multi scale Dragonite is a taken and is usally my go to poke for most things in life. He's my lead if the other player doesnt have a weather lead. Draco meteor into extremespeed takes out pretty much everything that i would have a issue with. I quiet nature so I dont die from a gyro ball natto. Another trick that I usally use is ill use draco meteor then if no hazards are up swap into kingdra for a draco meteor. Ethier way he's proven a great team mate and a lead or revenge killer.

Terakion @ Life Orb
Trait: Justice Heart
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Close Combat
- x-scissor
- Taunt
- Rock Slide
This guy is a boss. He's my wall breaker with taunt on blissey she becomes useless or a close combat takes out this meta's wall. I run Life orb oon him to ensure a sweep. I will not take out rock slide for sotne edge cause my luck sucks and it always misses. Terakion is the go to poke if I still need to take out Sandstorm based tanks.

kyuubi (Ninetales) (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Drought
EVs: 172 HP / 80 SAtk / 255 SDef (can someone help me fix this)
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Heat Wave
- Energry ball
- Will-O-Wisp
- Toxic/Shadow ball(testing)
The hotshot of the team. I honestly dont use her unless there's scizor or fortress stopping my sweep. This set pretty much doesnt need explaining.

shiftry_by_racieb-d32xqe2.png

Shiftry (M) @ Berry of somesort (matters what I feel like ill be going aginst.)
Trait: Chlorophyll
EVs: 16 HP / 240 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Growth
- Seed Bomb
- Sucker Punch
- Hp Fire
Physical Shiftry is amamzing at killing all the ghost that could cripple terakion. After a swords dance I go and prepare to sweep. Shiftry main job is to kill Shandera and to start what tangrowth can finish.

Tangrowth (M) @ Salac Berry
Trait: Chlorophyll
EVs: 4 HP / 255 Atk / 248 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Sleep Powder
- Sunny Day
- Power Whip
Kinda of werid set I know. I use sunny day if they try to stop the sweep. Earthquake was choosen due to the number of steel walls i face in life and t-tars. This is my anti weather lead or end game sweeper.

WTF (Kingdra) (M) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Swift Swim
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Dragon pulse
- Signal Beam (needs to be swapped into something)
- Surf
- Hidden Power [Electric]
Before you say WHY. Let me answer that for you. Kingdra in the rain is one of the hardest things that this team had issues with (that and gliscor) so I figure to kill 2 birds with one stone. Max speed + Choice scarf allows me to out run other kingdra's and d meteor.

-Issues
gliscor - The posion heal acrobat verison really takes out a huge chunk of this team.
If kingdra dies its pretty close to game over.

Dory- Really not hat bad due to the amount of priority users but I would love a clear counter for him.

lati@s- Only when shiftry's dead that I have a issue.

How to play this team: Abuse team preview to figure out what to lead with. Clear out the weather lead then setup with Ninetales. Ninetales to status any walls. Then just clean house with shiftry if they have 2 ghost or tangrowth if there not.

This team synergry comes from 3 parts. The wallbreaking ability of Terakion. The sun speed abuse due to ninetails, and the most imporant one of all is the anti-weather support.

This team doesnt have a problem facing another weather team for aocuple of reasons. Terakion can one hit most pokes and standard sun teams are easy to predict.

-My starters for there weather.
Hippo/t-tar = Tangrowth sleep powder or go straight for power whip.
Ninetales= Tangrowth straight for the earthquake hopefully one hit.
Politoad= shiftry's seed bomb if I survive the ice beam i sucker punch the following turn and kos Politoad.
Abomasnow=Ninetales heatwave then do a double swap for the sun up.

I think you should consider X-Scissor over Quick Attack on Terakion. You currently are going to get swept by CM+Recover Rankurusu and having an attack to hit it for super effective damage with will help, while Quick Attack isn't really doing much for you. Your only way of killing it is with Shiftry's Sucker Punch but it can dodge it by boosting or healing itself, then taking one and killing you with Focus Blast.

Ice Beam on Kingdra offers redundant coverage, mainly because you have Signal Beam to hit Grass types like Celebi and STAB Dragon Pulse hits non-4x weak Dragons harder, as well as being just a much more solid move overall. Also, Surf should be used over HP Electric in my opinion, it is one of the reasons why Kingdra's water typing is so good, letting it kill things like Heatran and Blaziken (unless the latter has a Swords Dance under its belt). I also really don't think you need a scarf, maxing speed should be enough to outrun all other Kingdras (and pretty much all other Pokemon) in rain.

I'd recommend Life Orb over Sash on Tangrowth, it's not always going to be leading off and since you have no way of stopping hazards most of the time it's going to be useless, while Life Orb's extra power can help net you a few extra KOs.

Solid team overall, I like the innovation on some of your sets, good luck.

Blazin thx for the help the changes should be implented shortly things ill go with you on.

-ice beam for surf
-draco meteor for d-pulse

Tangrowths focus sash has been removed for the speed boositng berry.

Well, Kingdra is kinda raped with speed. In fact, that Kindras rarely have speed-positive natures means, timid ones are almost always faster.
But if one want to use a scarf - fair enough:
Its speed is multiplied by 1.5 though the scarf, and then doubled. It basicly runs at triple speed. The fastest Kingdra reaches the speed of 295 and 590 in the rain. So you need only 197 on the scarfed one, to be faster than any other one. As you know, a speed-neutral Kindra has a speed of 206, so you'll definitely outrun any Kingdra with a scarf, even without any EVs on it.
If one want to, one can run it mixed, too. Just lower the speed with the nature and invest exactly 52 EVs in it and the rest in Atk and SAtk. Even that one can outspeed any Kingdra with a scarf.

If you are looking too replace Air Cutter on Shiftry, Low Kick makes a fine addition. It gives you a super effective hit on Nattorei who previously resisted your moveset expect neutral Air Cutter. You could also try a mixed sweeper set using Growth, which boosts Atk and SpA two stages in Sun.

On Kingdra, Draco Meteor could be a option to replace Signal Beam. It is a good hit and run move, which goes well with the nature of a Choice item.

Good luck with your team.

Man, your team may not be the best I've ever seen, but I love it! Kingdra in Sun is fantastic, as is the whole concept of antimetagaming you have going. Anyway, to help with the "not the best team ever", I have quite a few suggestions.

Your DNite set is awesome, I may utilise it myself. No changes here.

I'd debate the usefulness of Taunt on Terakion when you could be SDing and tearing through all but Hippowdon/Gliscor of the common OU pokes with ease. X-Scissor could be used over QA since you have the even more powerful EXtremespeed on DNite and it will help you with Claydol/Slowbro who, whilst uncommon wall you pretty badly, as well as Virijion and Breloom. I'd also go for Jolly just so in a pinch you can revengekill with him and beat some threats, whilst still retaining absurd power if you use SD.

Since you use Tales pretty much solely for setting Sun, I'd alter the set quite a lot. NEVER use Solarbeam on Tales - TTar, Hippo or Toed can come into it, lock you in and OHKO with a SE move as well as knocking out Sun. Energy Ball instead. Heatwaves's extra power is not worth the reliability drop from Flamethrower, use it instead. You should use 80 Spe and Timid to be able to revengekill Dory with Flamethrower (keep some SpAtk to be able to beat variants with HP), whilst also revenging Kabutops with Energy Ball. I'd max out HP, however, so you can take hits from both sides pretty well, just be sure to leave it on an odd number to come into SR one more time. Finally, since all you need her to do is survive to set Sun - try out Rest with a Chesto Berry. This essentially lets you fully heal twice before sticking around as a useless lump to keep Sun up, which is more than most weather inducers can say. Try it in your final slot. A very similar set has worked wonders for me and is the set being written for the main Ninetales 5th Gen analysis, so it's proven too.

Shiftry I'd recommend a LO over any berry to give your attacks more oomph. I'd also recommend running HP Fire over Air Cutter to beat steels and other grasses with the Sun boost, and Growth over SD to boost SpAtk as well in Sun. Dark Pulse is then an option as it is more reliable than Sucker Punch, but the priority is useful outside of Sun. If however you need the SD to boost you to +2 out of Sun (probably not) then Brick Break should go over Air cutter to at least let you beat steels.

With the above changes to Tales you shouldn't need Sunny Day on Tangrowth (5 turns isn't enough to sweep anyway). Also, Salac merely makes it try to do something Shiftry does better anyway - be incredibly fast in Sun - so use LO for the power instead. Now I'd also suggest a role change for Shiftry and Tangrowth. You say you use Shiftry to start the sweep and Tan to clean - but due to Tan's better bulk he will be better at switching in during the match and can use his higher attacking stats to punch holes in your opponent's team off the bat. Shiftry with his speed can clean up anything fast and frail as well as crippled walls, whilst functioning well as a revenger during the midgame. To this end I'd reccomend using a HP, either Ice or Fire, to beat Grass switchins as well as cover either Dragon or Steels, over Sunny Day (switch to a -SpDef nature as it only loses you about 11 stat points total and he can't take a hit on that side anyway), then bump your Spe Evs to 252 if using HP Fire to account for its IVs. Consider Focus Blast over EQ to hit BalloonTrans and Sazandora hard if using HP Ice, or Rock Slide if using HP Fire - to hit flying dragons hard and still heatran/sazzy neutrally. Finally, using Growth over Sleep Powder is an option especially if you want him to have the option to sweep lategame, but Sleep Powder is ofc very useful to beat a counter.

I agree with the guy two above who says that with Timid Kingdra does not need Scarf - replace it with LO or Lefties. I'd also advise Draco Meteor over Signal Beam which nets you little coverage, so you can hit and run early game before your sweep. If you want to be using a water move you need to run Rain Dance (which makes Damp Rock viable) - and I'd bump it up to Hydro Pump if you do for the additional power. Now, in terms of a HP you could run HP Fight to let you beat Natt, your main counter - but why do that when you can let everything with a Fire move destroy him beforehand, clearing the way for a Kingdra sweep? It's still viable for things like Empoleon, but I'd try out Rain Dance in it's place in order to be able to set up your own sweep. Alternatively, use one dragon move, Hydro Pump, HP Fight and RD.

One last suggestion would be to consider a Steel to help you take Dragon attacks, and rapid spin for you, helping Tales and DNite immensely, as well as your whole team if T-Spikes go down. Forry ofc is who I'm on about, as he can set SR, Spin, kill things with Gyro Ball, and Volt Change to get Tales or something else in safely, all whilst abusing sturdy. His fire weakness is so bad that sun just means everything overkills him a bit more, and if you run RD on kingdra he can actually maybe take a fire hit and live. I'd add him over one of yout two chlorophyllers, since your team has so much offensive presence in any case that it really doesn't need both of them, but he could also go over Terakion if you don't need his wallbreaking abilities with Tangrowth and Kingdra punching big holes in things.

Hope this helps, sorry for the wall, but I'm only saying it all because I honestly think it'll help your awesome team get even better.

After extensive testing (103 matches to be exact on the number) I have found out a couple of things to replace on the team.

The changes that taken into effect are as follows.
Nintales
-solar beam
+energy ball
ev changes
252HP /4spd / 255 SDef

Terakion
-quick attack
+x-scissor
keeping him addy nature due to extra power is well extra power

Tanglegrowth while testing with the LO I get the extra power boost but he truely doesnt need power. Salac gives him the upper hand in a one last move to swing.

Kingdra
-hp eletric
+hp fighting(lol at the natt shift in)

still testign the shiftry remarks and thinking of changing him.

On a solid note.
I dont need a solid dragon counter due to scarf kingdra even while not in the rain out runs every dragon.

I know but there are still other weathers out there as for swift swim being banned I now am replacing kingdra with Dory but i want a good (somewhat creative if possible) set.
